In my experience, these are the best places for mining Tin. I'll list the areas as Horde if they're more accessible for Horde to get to, same for Alliance.

Horde
Silverpine Forest - Check the mountainsides and caves near the Dalaran NPC's to the south.
Hillsbrad foothills - Mountainsides and caves. Azurelode Mine has a lot of Tin.
Stonetalon Mountains - The Windshear Crag area of STM has a lot of tin. The mine there, at the Venture Co. site has an abundance of Tin.
The Barrens - You'll find most of the Tin here in the southern Barrens amongst the Bristleback boar mobs, next to mountains etc. Like said above, you'll most likely see a Tin Ore in the Oasis areas. There's also the Bal Modan Digsite (or whatever) way down South, past Camp Taraujo, which yields a lot of tin.

Alliance
Redridge Mountains - You'll find a lot around where Blackrock Orcs are found. Also there's a cave north-west of Lakeshire called Render's Gauntlet (or something) with Gnolls in it. A lot of Tin can be found in there.
Wetlands - Check the mountainsides and caves here. Someone said above about the mine with Spider's and Incendicite veins in. This cave is great.
Darkshore - You'll find most of the Tin to the south near Grove of the Ancients, amongst the Digsite for that Crazy dwarf and in various locations throughout the wilderness there. Again, the best places to look for the ore is mountainsides and small hills.

Horde and Alliance areas
Thousand Needles - This place is great. There's plenty of Copper/Tin/Iron. This would be a good place to level up your mining to 125 or find Tin ores, but if you haven't already got 125 mining when you go there, go somewhere else. Personally, if i can't mine an Iron deposit when i run past it, i die a little. Running past the deposit when you know you could of mined if it you leveled your skill, but didn't, is not good. I suggest leveling up somewhere that has a lot of copper/tin.

I dont know why thottbot is listing so many different items in the class "disenchant", but the only thing you may ever turn a Tin Ore into is a Tin Bar. Unless it's needed for some quest. Anyway, when I need tin I always go to Lock Modan, in the mountains east there is always some to find.

What Thottbot is referring to here is Prospecting(A skill that you can acquire at 50 Jewelcrafting) although the results aren't accurate.

Tin ore CAN'T be disenchanted.

Lots of ore in Thousand Needles. In two hours I just collected 100 copper, 62 tin, 81 iron, 4 mithril and 7 gems. It helps, obviously, with an epic mount, but still some great mining even without.

NW Barrens, the dry hills has more tin than all southern Barrens combined.

I prospected 100 Tin Ore (20 prospect attempts) and ended up with 20 Tin Powder (grey vendor trash), 12 Lesser Moonstones, 10 Moss Agates, and 9 Shadowgems.

The Best Place I have found to get Silver and Tin is in Duskwood, in the Southern Mountains, in between there and STV. I start in Darkshire, go east to the hills the follow them south and around heading west until I reach the river going into Westfall. I then go North and hit the Hill next to Raven Hill, then east to where the World Dragon is and Follow it all the way around until I am on the east side and then keep following the hills till I am back in Darkshire....I usually have 4-6 Silver ore and about 10 tin Ore and a stack or so of Copper

I have also seen a couple Iron and Gold Veins as well

I couldn't find any tin ore in any of the places listed. BUT.... I found lots in Ashenvale! Followed the mountains along the outside border of the area and found a ton of it. I'm sure there is a lot more if you want to cruise the inside areas. Trying to level my mining, now if only I can find some silver ore. From what I've read here it is rare...… :(

I needed some ore for a Horde alt in Classic so I had my 60 warrior run a circuit of Ashenvale. (Retail is much easier since you can fly.) I flew to Splintertree Post, rode north to the mountain border at Satyrnaar and then followed the border mountains clockwise.

Nothing bothers you at level 60 unless you run directly over it. The far northeast corner has groups of 62 elites so avoid that. There is an Alliance grove south of Spintertree near Fallen Sky Lake you want to avoid if you're Horde.

Results are:

33 copper ore
36 tin ore - makes for a good ratio for smelting to bronze
21 iron ore
6 silver ore
8 gold ore
1 malachite
2 shadowgems
1 lesser moonstone
15 rough stone
26 coarse stone
14 heavy stone

And I stumbled upon 1 silver dragon murloc who dropped some level 20 green armor worth 12 silver.

Nodes were pretty evenly spaced around the area so no one part was better than the others. Ashenvale isn't the easiest place to ride since it has a lot of cul-de-sacs and switchbacks. But overall it was reasonable for the amount and variety of ore gathered.
