Arei makes for a good tank, but there's only so much he can do. It's best to clear as much as you can before speaking to him. Even so, there can be a lot of respawns, so make sure that he gets aggro first.

Saw this guy at the graveyard at around 3 AM. What's he for?

Comment by Thottbot

I dont know. I saw him 1 am at Felwood and killed he.
He is really huge guy.

Pictur of him.

Comment by Thottbot

He's like Devilsaur but just for hordes!
j/k he's a subject of an alliance escort quest.

Comment by Allakhazam

What's the deal with this guy? Saw him in the Irontree woods with a bunch of 'treant spirits' around, and he was marked as PvP. I attacked him and two alliance druids behind him were able to heal him and whatnot.

Comment by Allakhazam

I killed this guy as a 51 hunter. Not much of a challenge.

Comment by Allakhazam

Uh, yeah you're not sopposed to kill this guy. You get the flute of X and turn it in as part of a quest, then she cleanses it for you and gives it back. You then use the flute to free this elemental and escort him to safety

Comment by Zram

Requires Flute of the Ancients from quest Purified!.

Use flute at 50,31 near the statue in the ruins.

If Arei doesn't spawn, he could be sitting at 50,15 from the last escort. Wait for spirits to despawn and try to use the flute again.
