I can only hope pet battles make a come back. Seeing so many "This creature cannot battle." feels wrong.
Also, being unable to upgrade any pets like that sucks for long term collectors.

If only pets had a purpose like pet battles, that would be awesome /s.

Cute!

It’d be great if they could actually keep up with dynamic flight, but they just get left in the dust and unsummoned

Well that'll be cool. I RP with my Dracthyr having a whelpling assistant. Kind of like a Sherlock to my Watson. I wonder if they could use it as well.

Is this their way of "fixing" flying pets that glide along the ground instead of actually hovering?
(new dragonhawks, sporebats, albino raven + shadefeather hatchling i can keep going).

Cool idea!

For everyone that decided to make this the post to complain about the Pet Battle System on: Do you think they are doing nothing?

Not every pet has been non-combat this expansion. Generally just the wild ones. Most vendor ones have movesets.

The system is not being forgotten. Much like how they said nothing about player housing until it was like 90% done (ie: they started in Shadowlands, and was not revealed until it was set to be included in Midnight), they likely have a team working on a re-design of the system to support what people liked about it, remove pain points, and expand the content in a positive way that will draw interest.

Just let them cook. It likely is going to take longer than a single expansion to do.

Only for Arfus

Blizzard should either start improving the battle pet system or simply remove the feature all together. The system feels like that one old room in your house which you filled with trash 20 years ago and of which you keep telling yourself "I should really clean that dirty room someday and start using it for something".
