Best Destruction Warlock PvE Raid BuildIncinerateShadow and FlameConflagrateShadowburnWhich Build Should You Pick?

Sayaad build: the strongest if your demon survives. The Sayaad fights in melee range, and the leftover points go into the Affliction tree for Hit chance and stronger DoTs.

Imp build: slightly behind. The Imp casts from range, so it keeps attacking when the boss moves or melee is dangerous, and its Blood Pact gives your party extra Stamina.

Demonic Sacrifice build: behind the other two, as you give up your demon's damage for a Fire damage bonus. Pick it only if you don't want to manage a demon.

IncinerateShadow and Flame

IncinerateCorruptionCore talents:

Incinerate: your main filler. It deals 25% more damage while Immolate is on the target.

Shadow and Flame: Hitting with Conflagrate increases your Shadow damage by 10%, and hitting with Shadowburn increases your Fire damage by 10%, for 20 seconds each. At 5/5, Conflagrate no longer consumes Immolate, and Shadowburn always refunds its Soul Shard.

Conflagrate and Shadowburn: Their own damage is modest, but both trigger the bonuses from Shadow and Flame, so cast them on cooldown. Fire and Brimstone adds 25% Crit chance to Conflagrate.

Bane, Agonizing Flames and Ruin: faster Immolate and Incinerate casts, more Destruction damage and bigger crits.

Aftermath: Immolate's first hit deals 50% more damage.

Suppression: very strong until you reach the 17% Hit cap against bosses. Once your gear covers it, move these points elsewhere.

Unholy Power (4/5): 8% more damage for your Sayaad.

Supporting and flex talents:

Improved Corruption (3/5): cuts your Corruption cast time to 0.8 seconds, below the global cooldown, and adds 6% damage. You could opt for 5/5 for instant Corruption.

Amplify Curse: Your next Bane of Agony deals 50% more damage over its whole duration, on a 3-minute cooldown. Use Bane of Doom on fights longer than a minute. Use Bane of Agony on shorter fights, or after your last Doom to cover the time left, and put Amplify Curse on that Agony.

Pandemic and Improved Life Tap: Your DoTs and drains deal more crit damage, and Life Tap gives 20% more mana.

Cataclysm: reduces the mana cost of your Destruction spells.

Bane of Havoc: You need it to reach Incinerate. On fights with a second target, it adds cleave.

No-Demonology version: this version of the build moves the 4 Unholy Power points and Amplify Curse into Improved Corruption (5/5) and Malevolence (3/5). It is about as strong, so pick whichever you prefer.

AftermathWhat changes from the Sayaad build:

Improved Imp (3/3): 30% more damage for the Imp's Firebolt.

Unholy Power (2/5): 4% more damage for your Imp, and you need the points to reach Demonic Energies.

Demonic Energies (1/2): gives the Imp the mana from your Life Tap, so it can keep casting for the whole fight. One point does the job.

Aftermath (3/5): The last 2 points are the cheapest to move into the Demonology tree.

Flex points:

Suppression: As in the Sayaad build, these points can move once you reach the 17% Hit cap against bosses.

Demonic SacrificeKey points:

Sacrifice the Sayaad, not the Imp. Incinerate, Immolate and Conflagrate all deal Fire damage.

You miss out on pet damage.

Demonic Embrace, Demonic Aegis and Fel Vitality: extra Stamina, armor and mana. They are the path to Demonic Sacrifice and add no damage.

Flex points:

Suppression: If you are still below the 17% Hit cap, move 3 points from Improved Corruption into Suppression. 3/5 Suppression with 2/5 Improved Corruption comes out ahead of this setup until your gear covers your Hit.

SuppressionImproved CorruptionCorruptionDungeon Tips

On 2 targets, put Bane of Havoc on the second target and play your single-target rotation on the first.

On packs of 3 or more, use Hellfire when the tank has aggro and you can take the self-damage, or Rain of Fire from range.

Suppression: You need 4% Hit against same-level trash. Once your gear covers it, move the last 3 points elsewhere.

Amplify Curse has a 3-minute cooldown, so save it for bosses and big pulls.

Pick this if:Soul LinkConflagrateFire and BrimstoneShadow and FlameIncinerateKey points:

Soul Link, Demonic Embrace, Fel Vitality and Molten Skin keep you alive, while Ruin, Agonizing Flames and Conflagrate give you strong burst.

Shadowburn gives you an instant finisher to close out kills.

Flex points:

Grim Reach version: If you want extra range on your Affliction spells, use this version of the build instead. It moves the points from Molten Skin and 2 ranks of Fire and Brimstone into Grim Reach and Improved Corruption, trading some defense and Conflagrate Crit chance for range and an instant Corruption.

Pick this if:Shadow and FlameIncinerateFel DominationKey points:

Conflagrate, Fire and Brimstone and Shadow and Flame give this build the most burst on the list.

Fel Domination lets you quickly resummon your demon if it dies, which matters when you rely on it for crowd control.

Intensity helps you finish your casts while under attack.

Flex points:

Demonic Sacrifice: If you would rather play without a demon, sacrifice the Sayaad for 15% more Fire damage. You lose the demon's crowd control in exchange.

Pick this if:Curse of ExhaustionNightfallCorruptionKey points:

Curse of Exhaustion slows your target, helping you keep enemies at range while you cast.

Nightfall: Your Corruption ticks can make your next Shadow Bolt instant.

The full Destruction tree, including Conflagrate, Shadow and Flame and Incinerate, adds burst on top.

Flex points:

Nightfall: If you do not enjoy playing around Nightfall procs, move these points into Molten Skin for extra damage reduction or Intensity to avoid pushback.
