All characters will start out as Hostile to this faction of furbolgs. To gain positive reputation with this faction, you will need to grind the groups of corrupt furbolgs.

This faction controls the tunnel between Felwood and Winterspring. If you try to go through the tunnel when they are Hostile to you, you will be attacked. Once you make Unfriendly, they will not attack.

See the items tab for items you can obtain from Timbermaw vendors once you achieve the appropriate reputation level.

For the Alliance faction addicts out there (me included ^_^) this is a faction best leveled while completing the repeatable Winterfall Intrusion quest for the epic Wintersaber mount.

Quest: https://www.wowhead.com/forever/quest=5201

I find the trinket reward to be extremely nice for Out of Mana solo grinding as a priest, but for practical (profession) reasons, revered is where most people stop.

Like the poster above me said, save those feathers! You'll need quite a lot to get from revered to exalted : )

Grinding rep? Instead of fighting over spawns, join forces will those of your faction and your kill rate will easily triple. (less waits between spawns) You will lose a little coin and cloth and will most likely double your rate of faction gain per hour.

Some classes are very synergistic as well. Try a Mage and a Druid. Wow, you will wipe out Northern Felwood by yourself easily at level 60.

Kommentar von skitzosmeagol

Northern Fel Wood is the best place to grind rep with them, because not only do you get rep from killing some of the mobs, you can also get feathers for a repeatable rep quest off of some of the mobs. This rep grinding is long, and not really worth it lol but if you need to grind the rep thats how.

Kommentar von 8004

although it sounds easy, grinding this faction is extremely difficult for one reason: the opposite faction. while grinding here, i was continuously harrassed by alliance members doing the same thing i was. like the above people said, it is important to take a group with you, for protection and faster rep.

Here is the offical post of the reward.
subject to be change because the Timbermaw instance that in Azshara is still not yet open. but grinding the reputation sure can give a head start to the future feature.

This reputation is relatively easy to grind, especially since it gives you xp while grinding at level 50-59. Nevertheless, there are too many ways to get rep to mention right here in a comment.

I suggest going to http://www.wowwiki.com/ for reputation grinds (http://www.wowwiki.com/Timbermaw_Hold_reputation_guide).

EDIT: Fixed link.

I finished my grind to exalted this morning and, looking back, it was not as horrible as it may sound. Having your named pronounced in your capital city is well worth the effort (for those glory-seeking heroes), and the trinket is useful to boot.

Total time: a few days; actual time: about a month. Ollitrop's post is honestly the best way to grind the rep (save the feathers! ); when I hit revered, I had to continue to grind for another stack of feathers (which is completely horrible, because then you are just relying on drop rate, which is about 35%). Kill the named mobs as much as possible, even camping them when you know they will be spawning shortly.

I made a few hundred gold (selling grays); a few hundred stacks of runecloth (nice for using to gain rep with other factions); a few blues (Dark Moon Faire cards, Pattern: Living Leggings - drops a lot, so basically vendor fodder); and one epic.

All in all, a profitable grind, in every sense of the word. Enjoy the trinket!

If you plan on grinding to exalted, make sure that you save all of your Deadwood Headdress Feathers (https://www.wowhead.com/forever/item=21377) and Winterfall Spirit Beads(https://www.wowhead.com/forever/item=21383). You will want to start turning these in at Revered, as this is the only way, other than killing the named Bosses, to increase your reputation.

Kommentar von 12190

A little note about grinding here.

If going for trinket, as rude as it might seem, don't group up.
You may increase you fast you can kill them, but you cut off a lot of the feathers/beads that you could be getting. Then later, you'll be grinding them even longer, because you're short and have to kill for just the beads/feathers.

I once was going for the trinket. I had over 300 feathers. I made a dent in revered but thats it. So lesson learned for me.

at lvl 60 and 'unfriendly' reputation with the timbermaw furbolgs, it appears both the lvl 48-50's to the south and the lvl 53-55's to the north give you 5 pts of faction each. the quest from grazle to kill the southern deadwood furbolgs only awards 10 pts (it may be 50 pts if your standing is below unfriendly) and factored in with the time it takes to ride all the way down there (roughly 6 min on regular mount speed, no speed enhances) and the average kill rate of the southern furbolgs is approximately 2 per minute (with about 4-5 other players grinding in the same area) gives you a loss of about 110 pts (round trip) if you repeat the quest as opposed to grind (again this is at 'unfriendly' and the quest should grant more at 'hostile').

in contrast, the furbolgs to the north deliver the same amount of faction per kill and though they are a higher lvl and take slightly longer to take down, fewer players grind in that area making the kill rate about 30% faster. and while the named furbolg 'Ror' to the south and 'Windfall Runner' to the north dont give extra points (still 5 pts a piece), 'Chieftan Bloodmaw' to the north gives 25 pts per kill and has a respawn rate of about 10 min, as well as giving the chance for slightly better drops (i farmed 2 greens off of him in 4 kills). in addition, the deadwoods to the north more often drop runecloth as opposed to mageweave found in the south.

personally i think grinding sucks and i think ima wait till the patch comes out cuz they will prolly be more quests (also heard of a quest available once you reach neutral?) but the best way to gain faction with timbermaw now would appear to grind the northern deadwood furbolgs around 'Cheiftain Bloodmaw.' fwiw, this is all speculative from my standpoint and im sure will differ depending on your lvl and amount of faction.

The previous answer is spot on. Don't waste time doing the quest from the T/maw in Northern felwood to kill the southern Deadwoods. It is a waste. If you want faction, grind. I did the entire level 56 on single XP to get friendly. At friendly you can get the repeatable quest from Salfa at the Winterspring end of the tunnel (on the right as you exit). He wants you to kill 6 each of the Den watchers, totemics and Pathfinders which are in two small camps on the left of the road as you leave the tunnel in winterspring. You will get 5 points per kill and 75 for handing in which takes 30 secs. You get the 10% Human rep bonus added as well (6 points per kill and 82 or 83 for hand in). The problem is where I am now (55% at honoured). At 50% you stop getting rep points for individual kills and only get the hand in points! This is a nightmare as the hand in gives you 0.7% of the total needed. That means a lot of hand ins and the quest is 18 kills but you actually kill about 25 for each quest. It is going to take forever. I hope there is a different quest at revered or I will end up binning this. Good luck everyone.

Hi I'm a Shaman on Mazigoes I have just got exhalted with the Timbermaw Furbolgs. I got exhalted from 1/5 from honoured and did this in 5 days. I think this was pretty fast for me and I have spent a lot of time there.
The best thing imo is that you should get a partner. Someone camping at one of the north village and 1 at south. You both can share the quest kills (Winterfall Activity) Did this and you can earn at least 600-700 rep per hour. I found it was shocking after no rep from honoured 55% for individual kills, I know it sucks. I was lucky to be in a low populated server or there could be consequences with the opposing faction.
I was able to earn upto 500g during the 5 days. I know its boring. But you have to entertain yourself somehow. Music or even chat on Team speak or Ventrillo. I have a sound knowledge or Warcraft history so I thought that the furbolgs had a hard time so that kept giving me the spirt to farm for them and also the trinkt too =)

Well happy hunting =)

Kommentar von Thottbot

I had 0 faction with the timbermaw either way last night.

I am now revered. (6.5 hours)

I went to check out the new quests and gain a little faction, enough to get through the tunnel. So I went to southern felwood after picking up the quest and started killing furblogs. After my first kill a gnome asked if I wanted to join up with him. I said sure... And ended up being person 35 or so in a furblog rep raid.

You can get rep from the two locations in felwood and the furblogs in winterspring ALL AT THE SAME TIME if you've got raid members there. It took me right around 2 hours to get to friendly.

We were doing need rolls on everything and everyone gets to see the items from any location. We saw a number of essences, darkmoon cards and a few purple drops. It's funny to see everyone rolling need in a raid. =)

With the new patch, rep stops at 11999/12000 honored except for boss kills and the bead quests.

Best of luck to you all.

Edit:
Rumor has it that this has been "fixed" by blizzard. I haven't confirmed it though.

As a now 60 Warlock I highly reccomend you don't take the path that I did.

Initially in my early 50's I ran straight through the cave with a soulstone to get to Winterspring. Of course gaining the flight path was a good thing to never deal with that again. Yet of course you have your drop quests to talk to their head hancho and have to faction up, so I turned in feathers/beads to get that outta the way. I also turned in feathers/beads to get through because I had quests to turn in at Moonglade.

Furthermore, what I did was turn in feathers/beads til I got to freindly...BIGGEST REGRET! DO NOT turn them in until you are Revered, save them up! You need 2100 of them to get to exhaulted, minus 15 faction you get every killing the elite in Wintefall Village even if you are Revered.

Another regret is grouping to get to Friendly as fast as possible, DO NOT GROUP, you need to gather sooooo many feathers/beads over the course it's not worth it, be more concerned with feathers/beads to save up for Revered than faction you get from kills.

TO ALL MINERS...
Grind in Winterfall Village. Rich Thorium Veins are a regular popup there. I am still grinding and just DINGED HONORED! Addional to all the runecloth, silver, green drops, grey drops, you can mine skills up, or just get mats to sell or use for skills. Biggest income I've had over greed dice rolls in instances. Not to forget I frequently get Arcanite Crystals from the mines, one day I got 2 of them!

TO ALL WARLOCKS...
Another way to do some fast grinding and take out the elite plus his 2 mobs with him that I go with is using Inferno. Wait til he is near the doorway of the cave and summon BOOM have him one one mob while you DOT the 2 others. Easy faction there you can do every hour (Inferno's Delay). Additional to that, do not use your nukes to kill mobs, use your dots, pet & wand. Alot less mana, you can kill alot of them before you need to take a drink break. I use 10-15% of my mana per mob that way. Also, remember those arcanite crystals, yeah you need them to get your Felsteed! So that will get alot of investing out of the way.

So far I have 250 beads gathered up to use when I turn Revered. Additional to that I've made tons of gold from Runecloth, Grey drops that go as much as 1g to the vendor, and of course Green drops. And lets not forget, THORIUM!

This process does not take as long as you think it does if you do it right.

One question I have from hearing various people say it, Once you reach a certain faction, you cannot use feathers, only beads. I believe whoever told me this was talking about when you get to revered. Is this true?

Everyone starts out at 2500/3000 Hostile reputation.
Warning: Do not attack any Timbermaw Hold furbolgs or you will ruin your reputation with them.

There are four ways to increase your Timbermaw Hold reputation: kill Deadwood furbolgs (Felwood), kill Winterfall furbolgs (Winterspring), quests, and repeatable quests.

You can get the quest Timbermaw Ally from Grazle (he's friendly) in southern Felwood along the road. After you reach Unfriendly reputation, Nafien will give quests. Nafien is located outside the Timbermaw Hold tunnel entrance north of Felwood

You will only receive reputation up until Revered for most monsters. Each furbolg gives 5 reputation points, Overlord Ror and Chieftain Bloodmaw give 15 reputation points and High Chief Winterfall gives 25. After that, you'll mainly need to collect beads, feathers or Deadwood totems. After completing quests, you can start to get Deadwood Headdress Feathers. In Winterspring, talk to Salfa for quests, then you start to get Winterfall Spirit Beads. If you're trying to reach Exalted reputation, you should wait until Revered reputation before turning in the feathers 5 feather for 50 rep, stacks of 250.

I consider myself a fair expert at Timbermaw rep now.

As stated all of the mobs give a base 5 rep per kill up to 11999/12000 (honored). The chieftain in N Felwood, Overlord in S. Felwood give 15 rep per kill regardless. The Winterfall Chief gives 25 regardless.

I used it as a grinding spot as well. DO NOT TURN IN YOUR FEATHERS UNTIL 11999/12000 CAP IS HIT. After I killed the final Felwood Chief (putting me at 14/21000 revered) I turned in my 550 feathers.

Not only was it 5514/21000 revered reputation, but it was 550 exp per turnin at level 55. In other words, I tagged out about 55,000 experience on my next level.

The other thing I'd recommend, go with a smaller group (3/4 guildies) who don't care about the rep. Set loot to FFA and take all of the beads/feathers. I got about 200 feathers last night in around 5 hours, which is pretty good considering we only brought three with us and the exp wasn't terrible.

Also, Runecloth falls in the north, but if you're alone, I'd seriously recommend the south felwood camp, much lower level and easy to mow through alone. Still the same feather/overlord rep gains, and it's usually far less camped.

Good luck with exhalted, it is most certainly a grind.

Your Comments are the most accurate posts yet. I myself am into revered. I managed to save up about 750 beads when I hit revered. I had previously already turned the quests in (which I regret not waiting till revered). In saying that, I'm sorry to discourage everyone but I don't think any of these posts clearly address just how much grinding this is. No matter what any of the above posts state, there is no special secret or any possible way of getting to exalted in one week or 6 hours or whatever. This is insanely intense and draining grind. I believe the poster above is in the same situation as me, (Too late to turn back now). The beads drop about 1/5 mobs. The gold for grinding is good however. The firewater and winterfall E'ko drops sell high on the AH and require no deposit. If your thinking of attempting this, it may seem simple at first, but however long you think it will take you, multiply it by about 20. Looking back I think I could have had much more benefit spending time in Argent dawn, Cenarian Circle, BG, ect. Good luck grinding everybody! - Xthantos-
