The long-requested option to apply weapon illusions to artifacts will be available in Patch 10.0.5.
The Legion Artifact Weapon appearances remain one of the more popular Weapon transmogs used by players, but one of the downsides of using them was that you could not use Weapon Illusions to further customize them, presumably because most of the Artifact Weapons had their own glow effects that would conflict with illusions.
This new transmog feature was
briefly available for testing
during the Dragonflight beta, which really hyped players up, but in
October 2022
Blizzard said it needed a bit more testing and wouldn't be ready for Dragonflight launch.
The official Patch 10.0.5 PTR notes confirmed this feature is available soon:
