Tricks macro

Hey, wondering if it is possible to make a macro for tricks that would use it on the nearest friendly target, perferably without selecting the friendly target or having them on focus. Something that would be useful in BGs.

No, I don't believe so. Closest would be a mouseover macro.

Use macro with targettarget it'll always cast on tank unless boss is targeting other player in rare cases when he casts something. I use targettarget macro when no other rogue is around if there is I use @roguename and ask him to do same thing. But as far as bgs go you can use addon Clique and just click on some1 in raid frame, I have it on middle click and it's working pretty fine.

Not possible, since tricks requires at least one human interaction to trigger (mouse click, make a focus or whatever).

Personally i use a [] macro, so it will get on focus, otherwise tot, otherwise works as normal.

Hey guys, thx for the help. I have another question on tricks so I figured I would just throw it on here.

I just started serious arena and would like a way to cast tricks on the ret pally on the team, perferably without having to have him as my target since we are a burst team and any time having to select him is time im not at very least doing white damage. Also can anyone point me to an addon that will help me remember to use tricks? Right now I can't even remember to cast tricks once my partner dismounts :P

Currently using the macro:
/target
/cast Tricks of the Trade

3s comp is Unholy DK, Ret paladin, Sub rogue.

You could simplify the macro to
#showtooltip
/cast Tricks of the Trade

Edit: As to an addon to help you manage your tricks, I use Power Auras. (Then again, I use it for like everything -.-)

Could you share with me how you use power auras to manage your tricks exactly?

It's simple. When you go into Power Auras to create your aura, you'll want to be on the Activation tab. There should be a drop-down box in the top-left corner which will let you choose from activation types, you'll want to select Cooldowns. Then, you type in the spell name. Now, you'll have an aura that will appear on the screen whenever you can cast Tricks.

? I'm not sure if it would always target the nearest friendly player, though.

Wouldn't the cleartarget mess up the targetlasttarget? Other than that, I don't see a problem with this macro.

No. TotT is on the GCD, as is Sinister Strike.
