Ten Things a WoW Player Would Want to Know About Diablo Immortal

A lot of people who are eagerly awaiting the release of Diablo Immortal next week are probably long time fans of the franchise. For them, much of the gameplay and systems will feel familiar. But what about the folks who are new to Diablo, but they are interested in the crossplatform play with real MMO function and a robust PvP systems, and want to give it a try for the first time?
What should you know if you are coming to Diablo from our old favorite, World of Warcraft? We have you covered with a quick list of ways this game is going to be quite different from what you are used to.
Diablo Immortal is free to play. While there are many things you might want to buy later in your career in-game, it's not required. And, you can spend plenty of time trying out the game and seeing whether you like it, without spending one copper shilling.
There are no dedicated healer or tank classes. Anyone can resurrect you. Basically the real distinction is just melee versus ranged. Every character has its own damage and healing abilities. While Crusaders and Barbarians are probably the most durable classes, they are not 'tanks' in the WoW sense.
Factions are very limited. It's not like World of Warcraft reputations. You are an Adventurer unless you choose to become a Shadow and strive to become an Immortal. Those factions each have their rewards and challenges, but there is nothing quite like "reputation."
There are both Clans of up to a hundred players and eight person Warbands. Neither is quite like a WoW guild. The shared Warband stash is not like the shared guild stash and offers only limited item transfer.
Dungeons and Raids are much quicker and faster paced, although some have fairly complex mechanics. No more all night raids to clear half the instance.
You cannot directly trade items with other players.
Only a few items can be sold on the Market, most notably NOT equipment. You have to find what you wear.
There are no professions, although there are crafters who will make things for you if you have the materials.
There is no gathering, except from fallen enemies, loot chests, and the like. Crafting materials can be salvaged from items you get that you don't plan to use.
Item scaling is dynamic to you and most items can be upgraded. That low level rare robe you find can probably be upgraded and used until you find a Legendary item you like, and then those upgrade levels can be immediately applied to that Legendary.
There's much more of course. This is by far the biggest release in the Diablo Franchise, and we're very excited to get into it and start reporting on the content live.
