The combined flavour text of each piece in this set tells the following story.

Part 1: Mountebank’s Flourish
The Mountebank gathered hundreds of written indulgences from the cloister of Miettevin by posing as a priest. She scattered them in the street, spurring anger against the faith’s profiteers.

Part 2: Mountebank’s Misdirection
Miettevin’s temple knights flanked the Mountebank on both shores of the Fogswell. She dove into the water as they loosed their arrows, and a stray broadhead cored Prior Niv through the hand.

Part 3: Mountebank’s Marvel
To steal the jawbone of Saint Alavaine, the Mountebank had herself delivered to the church’s cellar in a wine barrel. She poured the barrel into the reliquary as she ran, and left red bootprints in the nave.

Part 4: Mountebank’s Shirking
The Mountebank accepted a duel with the paladin Gurdannel, to be held at the Frozen Foot of the Uxbers. She delayed her arrival twice, and snow stranded Gurdannel’s entourage, ruining his reputation.

Part 5: Mountebank’s Bravado
A pitch and cotton-wrapped pipe was all the Mountebank needed to set Miettevin’s cloister on fire. As she watched from the hills, Gurdannel caught her and ran her through, though she leapt to her death with a smile.

Part 6: Mountebank’s Slyness
The Mountebank fell to earth near the town square. Stolen indulgences fluttered about her like feathers. Once townsfolk recognized her body, they killed Gurdannel and exiled the faith from Miettevin.
