Ruins of Qara-Yisu is one of 3 Strongholds located in the Dry Steppes zone. This guide covers the objectives and obstacles you'll need to overcome to free the Ruins of Qara-Yisu Stronghold. It also details the services, features, quests, and other perks you'll open as a result of your heroism.

About the Ruins of Qara-Yisu Stronghold
Ruins of Qara-Yisu is located in Dry Steppes south of the Hidden Lookout or west of the camp Nevesk in the Fractured Peaks. Take the west path out of Nevesk then turn the corner down the path heading into the Dry Steppes. Then follow the cliff north until you reach a small opening where you can enter the Stronghold.

The recommended level for completing the Ruins of Qara-Yisu objectives is 40+. You are welcome to try this earlier if you wish, but this represents the minimum level of the mobs you'll encounter here, so plan accordingly.
Ruins of Qara-Yisu Objectives
The inhabitants of the Ruins of Qara-Yisu were led by Elder Davan while under constant threat by cannibals. In response to their attacks, the Elder ventured into the mines to free an Ancient Spirit, which betrayed them, and encased the remaining villagers in salt.
To free the town, you must defeat the following challenges:

Once you have freed Ruins of Qara-Yisu, you'll also open the following features.
Shifting City Dungeon
The entrance to the Shifting City dungeon is accessible from the north side of the Ruins of Qara-Yisu. The dungeon contains 2 levels: the Forsaken Gate and the Ruins of Anguish. These levels contain Skeletons and Demons. After returning two ancient statues to their pedestals, collect Animus and deposit it into an Animus Urn to unlock the passage to the Tomb Lord. Defeat the Tomb Lord to compete the dungeon.
Pallid Dave Dungeon
The entrance to the Pallid Dave dungeon is accessible from the east side of the Ruins of Qara-Yisu. The dungeon contains 3 levels: the Salt Mines, the Cursed Ruins, and the Bane of the Ancients. After slaying all enemies in the Salt Mines, slay the Headhunter and collect the Salt Encrusted Key, then destroy the skeletal Constructs and defeat the Tomb Lord to complete the dungeon.
