This Wowhead leveling build guide for the Shred Druid in Diablo 4 Season 11 covers the best skills for leveling from 1-60 (Normal, Hard, and Expert), including skills, gear, rotations, and choices for the Druid unique class mechanic, Spirit Boons.
The Lightning Storm Druid is a classic build at this point in Diablo 4's short history. It's strong almost every season with both leveling and endgame variations. S6 and the Vessel of Hatred expansion is no exception. In fact, we finally get to use

to inflict the damage we've always wanted them to.

comes into the fold and infuses Ravens with Lightning Damage to burn enemies down. And don't worry: we are still using

Lightning Storm Druid Best Skills and Abilities
Offensive Skills
is our Basic Attack Skill and will carry us through the first few levels, hence we take for the needed increase to Movement Speed. Our Basic Attack comes into focus much more once can slot

into our Amulet. This Aspect gives each Wind Cast a Poison damage-over-time effect that has tremendous single-target damage. It's important for the build, but I would only prioritize retrieving it from the Grinning Labyrinth once you get through the first 20 levels or so.
Your next points are going to . Much of our damage comes from this Core Skill, especially with all the passives and Aspects we stack in its support, but it's not all of our damage. So, keep that in mind. makes this build by increasing the damage of our Storm Skills with one caveat: enemies need to be made
Vulnerable, Immobilized, or Slowed
for the damage increase to take effect. Thankfully, we take the following passives and enhancements to make this happen: , ,

Before we discuss our Companion loadout, there are a few important passives that remain. One point into gives us access to three points in . Juicing the damage of Lightning Storm should ideally happen after we gain access to the Perfect Storm Key Passive since the Spirit that provides makes our rotation smoother. The passive skills located on the Companion Hub are our heroes for this build. We fully invest in all of these: which brings a second bucket of damage to enemies that are Vulnerable, Slowed, Immobilized, etc., , , and .
Season 6's version of this build primarily incorporates Lightning and Companion Damage. We are taking , , and . And though we'd normally invest 5 points into Poison Creeper, since the increase in Poison damage has traditionally been stronger than Ravens,

is a new promising Aspect, so we're opting to use that here and infuse our aerial support with Lightning Damage. may not be necessary with how much Vulnerability/CC coverage we're already getting, so you might try to see which provides the most benefit.
Defensive Skills
We are not relying on any Active Defensive Skills with this build. Instead, we are sourcing Damage Reduction, Resistance, and Fortify in the form of , , , , and a single point into

. You will notice in our build planner that Cyclone Armor is not on our skill bar; that's because we're only interested in its Passive ability, which provides a healthy percentage of Non-Physical DR. We build more on our Defensive Toolkit with certain Legendary Aspects.
Utility and Resource Skills
Before gaining access to the Perfect Storm Key Passive, there's a good chance you'll run into Spirit issues. With that in mind, we do slot in for the mobility it provides, the Unstoppable, as well as a boost of Spirit every 14 seconds. Outside of that, you can invest points into early on to make your Wind Shear casts generate more Spirit. If you follow that route, take points from , reinvesting those once you get Perfect Storm.

Lightning Storm Druid Skill Rotation
It's pretty simple to deal significant amounts of damage with this build, but keep the Perfect Storm Key Passive in the back of your mind. We deal the most damage to enemies that are Vulnerable, Immobilized, or Slowed. Vulnerability is applied through and . Immobilization comes from our use of Poison Creeper, , and . Last but not least, the Slow of all Slows comes in the form of Poisoned Wind Shear casts from

– In early levels, you'll use this often to generate Spirit and increase your Movement Speed. As you progress into higher levels, it should primarily be used on Bosses and Elites to apply the Poison DoT effect.
– As a channeling skill, there are use cases for AOE and single-target damage. For example, you'll get more AOE damage the longer you channel the skill. To ensure you are not wasting strikes on inanimate objects, keep the channeling for single targets to a lower channel time, e.g., 2 to 4 seconds.
– Wolves will passively exist by your side, taunting and attacking enemies at their own will. Save their Active casts for striking Elites or Bosses.
– The Passive effect from Poison Creeper is constantly poisoning enemies around you, allowing you to benefit from the Slow in . Save the Active cast for when you are surrounded by enemies.
– Use on cooldown. The damage is amplfyied now with the Stormcrow Aspect, so it should pack a punch. We are also wanting to apply its Vulnerability to as many enemies as possible. To that end, we slot Tempers that increase the area of effect and attack speed.
– While you'd probably get by fine using this skill on cooldown, it does come with two notable benefits to consider. On cast, you are provided with a surge of Spirit as well as an Unstoppable effect, which makes things a little more complicated. Above all, though, you'll most likely be using this for the mobility and the Unstoppable, so prioritize those uses.
Best Spirit Boons for Lightning Storm Druid
Once you get to level 15, you will need to complete the Spirit Boon questline. It doesn't take too long and gives you some relatively powerful buffs. For the the Lightning Storm Druid, we are taking:
Wariness — Take 15% reduced damage from Elites.
Scythe Talons — Gain 10% increased Critical Strike Chance.
Avian Wrath — Gain 30% Critical Strike Damage.
Pack Leader — Lucky Hit: Critical Strikes have up to a 25.0% chance to reset the Cooldowns on your Companion Skills.
Overload — Lucky Hit: Dealing Lightning Damage has up to a 40% chance to cause the target to emit a static discharge, dealing 25% Lightning damage to surrounding enemies.
To support your Spirit Reserves a little better, swap out Wariness for Gift of the Stag and replace Scythe Talons with Energize in the Wolf row. If your health pool is getting hit harder than you like, swap Avian Wrath for Iron Feather.

We want to slot

in our Amulet for the 50% power increase. This Aspect is BiS while leveling because it increases the damage of Lightning Bolts. The effect does have to proc off of Critical Strikes with Storm Skills, and both Wind Shear and Lightning Storm fall into that bucket, so it shouldn't be difficult to make this happen. This Aspect cannot be farmed from a single location. In that case, you can slot

there to increase the damage of our Poison Wind Shear cast.

is another Storm-specific Aspect you'll want to get a hold of due to its AOE strength. You can substitute here, while you wait for the latter to drop.
Other Offensive Aspects include

. Stormcrow's Aspect not only Stuns enemies caught in its AOE, but it also considerably increases Ravens' damage. Aspect of the Moonrise is all about pushing the damage of our Poison Wind Shear casts by increasing Attack Speed. Once we enter the Vampiric Bloodrage described in the tooltip, our Basic Attacks receive up to a 100% increase in damage. Lastly, Edgemaster's Aspect increases our damage based on how much Spirit is available. This will come in clutch later on once we have the Perfect Storm Key Passive, as well as Aspect of the Calm Breeze, which gives Wind Shear casts the chance to fully restore our Spirit.
Defensive Legendary Aspects
Defensively, we are slotting

. Aspect of Disobedience gives us a stacking increase to Armor, while the Aspect of Might takes advantage of our constant use of Basic Attacks to provide a strong amount of Damage Reduction.
Spirit Bond Aspect essentially uses our Companions as a sort of shield, spreading the damage we receive across them. It also ensures our companions never die, which is extremely important for our Wolves, since they often taunt targets on their own. We end up relying on this last piece fairly often because it allows us to stand away from where the heaviest damage is happening and burn enemies down with our Lightning Storm.
This last Aspect does have to drop by chance, so if you need something to use in the meantime, try either or . However, if all else fails and you're not able to withstand damage without dying, check out

Utility and Resource Legendary Aspects
Lastly, we're using

for mobility, since it interacts with our Unstoppable from

, essentially increasing the length of time we are able to benefit from that initial cast, i.e., we're able to put distance between us and enemies with the movement speed increase.

Best Weapon Choices for Lightning Storm Druid
Above all else, make sure you're using a one-handed weapon and a totem, which allows us the extra Aspect slot and provides increased Lucky Hit Chance. We do want to focus on having either a one-handed sword for the Critical Strike Damage increase or a one-handed axe for the Damage Over Time increase. This guide is confusing. It seems to blend together 2 different builds...one that uses companions and another that doesn't use any companions. The listed skill bar and skill point allocations have no companions but the guide talks about using companions.
