If their expansion reveal is like the last, then it's not a real expac. Just a glorified and hyper over-priced DLC pack that is going to piss off most of the remaining D4 players and drive them away.Or to put my statement another way: 2026 is likey to be the year Blizz kills any further D4 development if the "expac" (lol) fails to significantly increase its playerbase.
I do not even WANT another expansion. The first one sucked awfully! The Spiritborn, the new class, was dealing ONE-THOUSAND TIMES (multiplicative difference) MORE damage than ALL OTHER CLASSES. And the Franchise Director, Rod Fergusson (he has since left Blizzard), took a Twitter poll on "should we BALANCE THE GAME or leave this ONE CLASS extra super spicy strong?"It ruined ALL of season 6. For the first 3 months after Vessel of Hatred release, I refused to play the game because of the INSANE imbalances between classes.I NEVER want that to happen again. I'd rather they take their expansions and shove them up their you-know-whats, than have them launch another expansion with a busted 1000x-too-powerful new class. If they have to destroy game balance just to get ppl hyped enough to buy the game, then I DO NOT even want them to release the expansion. Just leave the game as is, at least one class isn't 1000x stronger than another right now.
How many players want another chapter of being the main character's bodyguard, though?My opinion is that the only thing Blizz got right with D4 was the Necromancer gameplay...especiallu when they buffed minions so that the best specs weren't all some variation of "undead-themed sorcerer"
Haters in comment section are pathetic. Game is great, last expansion was very good, enjoyed playing spiritborn so much. Sadly I had problems with pc and stopped playing after witchcraft season. This game is a hidden diamond, it has insane potential. But blizz should change their social model to follow style of rockstar - ignore this pathetic, insane community; treat them like dogs because they are dogs. And do their job, they know how to develop games, blizz know much better than any clown out there. That’s the effective formula. Look at Rockstar and learn. Good luck to blizz, hope everything will work out for them.

I've been waiting on the announcement of the second expansion for a long time, I haven't played since before the first expansion was announced and I will not be playing again until a Paladin-type class is added.
they should focus on making a good base game instead. we're several years in and they're still doing major reworks. They don't even know what game they want to make much less what players want to play. they need someone with vision to take over the game, because at the moment it feels like it's just shareholder driven drivel

Nobody cares about the spiritborn, nobody did the raid, I cant remember anything about the story other than we got teased Mephisto for the second time, the new spells are all boring other than dance of knives and runewords are such a Blizzard thing to do. Take the name of an old thing people liked and make a completely new system for it. They didnt put Mephisto in the game, they didnt put Diablo in the game and they didnt put the class everybody wants in the game just to sell it to us later.D4 is such a by the numbers nostalgia milking it should be taught in business school.member paladin? only 2-5 more expansions, guys.
D4 is in a tough position, because the seasonal content isn't universally loved, the monetization is scummy, and there's no reason to play eternal unless you play the new story content/zone from an expansion and then dip. Last 2 seasons I liked were 6 and 7, and 8 was ok. I'll probably just play a single season with the next expansion and never touch it again, unless they take us seriously about reworking the monetization.
