Those runes look like naaru symbols coming into the light from the void.

This is very cool. Well done art team.

Comment by Starlin

The team that pulled this off should give themselves a pat on the back. Takes this expansion to another level.

Cool transitions.

I honestly wouldn't be shocked if we go inside of the crystal later (like 11.1 or something) perhaps either as a (mega)dungeon, delve, or a raid and find out why the crystal is changing. Leading up to it (like the 11.0.5 patch or something), the transitions between light and void might either get faster and/or the void phase may last for longer. That would then potentially lead into the players needing to go fix what the problem is. Then in the next patch (I.E. 11.2), the crystal either returns to the original 11.0 cycle or the cycle changes to a standard night/day cycle. Guess a lot of that will depend if the cycle really matters. Giving the timing duration, it would suggest something may be triggered when the crystal changes. Perhaps a specific quest or mobs are available only during one phase? Blizzard's not beyond having temporary phases for a patch like Battlefield Barrens back in MoP before changing it back to normal.

Would've been cool if it was the tip of Gorribal, but I'm pretty sure they already confirmed it's not.

(Yes I know the Sword of Sargeras' name was retconned but I will always call it Gorribal)

It is the tip of Gorribal and I will die on this hill before anything changes my mind. Blizzard's way of saying "Nothing going on with Sargeras's sword at all *shifty eyes* and it's not sargeras's sword"

I love the contrast between light and dark, visually, but what even cooler is that, the light is so bright and oppressive in a way that really feels unsettling, especially if you know the lore behind it.
It gives this sense of uneasiness like this place is caught between two sides of the same evil coin and has to reckon with the power of each.

Do we know what it is yet?
