. After handling the whelps and avoiding a deep breath,
Onyxia
lays dead before you. After the loot has been divided, there is only one thing left to do...

How did we get here? Several mobs in WoW Classic Fresh require a Skinning level above 300, and one of those is
Onyxia
herself. To avoid this painfully awkward moment, let's take a look at how you can reach Skill Level 315 in Skinning and loot your very own
Scale of Onyxia
.
First things first, make sure you've reached 300 in Skinning (we have a great guide for that).
Then, acquire
Formula: Enchant Gloves - Skinning
to put on your gloves. This Formula drops from the Trolls in southeastern
Arathi Highlands
, so make sure your Guild's designated Enchanter has it - or go looking in Trade Chat for one that does.
Finally, you must venture into Upper Blackrock Spire to defeat
The Beast
, the second-to-last boss in the instance. If you're lucky, the big dog might drop
Pip's Skinner
-
Le Piece de Resistance
. At this point, you should also make sure to skin
The Beast
itself, as it has a chance of dropping
Pristine Hide of the Beast
, and always spawns
Pip Quickwit
. This gnome offers you the quest
Pip Quickwit, At Your Service!
, but that's an entirely different guide all in itself.
Side note:
All Classes
except Paladins
can learn to use Daggers. This means that if you're a Holy Light-wielding Skinner, you're going to have to wait until
Zul'Gurub
releases in a future Phase to get your hands on
Zulian Slicer
.
Remember kids: Don't go diving in the gullet of lava monsters.
Congratulations! You've reached 315 Skinning! Aside from now being able to skin
Onyxia
and
The Beast
, you can now also skin
Ancient Core Hound
s in
Molten Core
. They drop
Core Leather
, which can be quite valuable early on.

Well, tbh I didn't know about this, but I also don't play classic.
