Spec is completely busted, expect some nerfs

Comment by Thanatasgr

Honestly I was kind of let down from the rework. The spec still feels too fast-paced and very, very confused. Builder/Spender means you have to "work" to build your resource and spending it is supposed to be the high point of the rotation. What's happening with HPal instead, is that you're flooded with Holy Power and you're constantly fighting against overcapping it and spending it ASAP on something, anything. On top of that, now there's just so many CDs to juggle, it's like playing spinning plates. Tyr's Deliverance? Divine Toll? Daybreak? Holy Prism? Holy Shock charges? Infusion of Light procs? Aura Mastery? Blessing of Sacrifice? Keeping Glimmers up on everyone because its healing/damage increases the more you have up? Should I prioritize spending Holy Power? Should I prioritize spending IoL procs? Should I space my CDs out or should I stack them all with Wings? Why are my spenders healing for less than my generators? Ohhh Hammer of Wrath can heal too? Wait no! There's just no room for pressing that button too! Dammit!

It just feels like HPal is fighting against three different iterations of itself right now. They just threw everything they ever had for the spec and there's really no intended gameplay loop that they've designed for it.

On the flip side, it's just so good to finally care about IoL. And spending it on Judgment too!

Can we get Holy pally dps with some off healing?

Comment by Draeken

It's not as bad as it sounds. It's just something new to get used to. The important part is it's no longer absolutely brain dead to play which is really good.

Our current tier set also exacerbates our overcapping of holy power. Once the new tier comes out i dont think it will be as bad.

Overcapping also means we have perma of dusk or dawn or whatever its called which makes spenders actually worth using, otherwise LoD is dog&*!@, WoG still decent I guess.

With my abundance of holy power im using sotr a ton contributing decent damage and stacking Awakening.

Its very fun tbh but definitely too strong. I think the duration of Tyrs Deliverance is fine but maybe reduce its amp to our rotational spells and decrease the HoT. Mine was ticking for like 27k. We are too good at spot healing and throughput now while maintaining our amazing utility and decent damage.

I agree with Thanatasgr,,, we got too much cds and things going on imo. I preffer simpler stuff.

So idc and I run with double beacon all time and NEVER run with bless of seasons...

Not optimal? More COMFORTABLE and FUN imo. And a game must be fun or it's pointless.

I gonna test the rework this weekend... got high hopes for IoL gameplay and still thinking about Tyr's... :)

It was never brain to play in the first place

STOP trying to nerf us. They're great as is.

And this is an issue how?

Yes, it was. Spam crusader strike/holy shock and then cast WoG/LoD. That was it. Oh lots of people are taking damage? Well just Divine Toll it and boom they're full health, and you got full holy power to spam more WoG/LoD.

Avenging Crusader was even more brain dead.

I for one am loving the Rework and I really like the fast paced rhythm of Hpally now. Stepped away from my Shaman to my Pally and it was the best choice.

Comment by Buffretplz

Will this do more dps than ret paladin?
Will this be the worst healer 1 phase later like ret paladins post rework?

Because its too strong? We do 10-15% more healing than other healers in raid, m+ is free asf cus we can solve every damage type whether it be burst or rot.

Simply put were too strong and in the name of the health of the game we need a nerf. To say otherwise is huffing hard copium.

Comment by OldLio

The nerf to AC and the reduction of CS charges is a double-whammy to the melee playstyle. I wish they'd just remove it if they are going to dunk on it this hard. The buff to Holy Power gen, the shock charges, and the extra buttons means a lot is going on. You can spec AC and not even use wings and have success. Our normal throughput is too strong, our wings are garbo, awakening is now awful, too much buff tracking, too much hot spreading via glimmer and riptide...er holy shock. They have just f*cked my playstyle up. The only benefit is that we're finally doing ok damage.

Comment by warcrafteel

Melee style holy IS SO VIABLE WITH THIS NOW!

Comment by WikiWeaponn

There is still zero need to actively use up your iol procs or hard cast anything that isn't Tyr's. Just passively use them when judgement is up and play as before and it feels great.

Comment by Cashanda

just look at the wlog's and you can see that no, it's not good as it is... blizzard overdid it as usual, but I hope they nerf the holy paladin... because this situation is pretty ridiculous at the moment looking at the other heal classes !

Comment by Worsedrood

I absolutely LOVE the new paladin play style! Thank you Blizzard devs for getting it right, I love you guys!
