Progression Goals

The team wants to double down on what is fun.
There will be changes to make alting easier.

Progression Topics

Character Journey

Leveling Up

The new max level will be level 60.
There will be a number squish to keep them more consistent.

Monsters

Monster health and damage will be streamlined to provide a smoother experience.
One-shot mechanics will happen less frequently, and boss HP has been reduced.

Difficulty Tiers

The team wants more content to be relevant for longer.

Pit Arbitration

There will be 4 leveling World Tiers - Normal, Hard, Expert, and Penitant.
There will also be 5 new endgame World Tiers: Torment I - IV.
Torment I will unlock after beating The Pit Tier 20.
Each Torment Tier will be unlocked every 15 Pit Tiers.

Progression

The Pit will now be capped at Tier 100.
Using a "Key" to enter content will default to the difficulty of the current World Tier.

Item Strength

Item Level 800 will be the new maximum Item Level.

Ancenstral Overhaul

Sacred Items will no longer exist.
Greater Affixes will only drop on Ancestral Items.
Aspects will have greater strength on Ancestral Items.

Paragon

Glyph Updates

Glyphs can now be leveled up to level 100.
After reaching Glyph Level 46, Glyphs will become Legendary.
The Pit will be the new way players can level their Glyphs.

Realm Partitions

Players can now earn up to 300 Paragon Points.
Paragon Points will be shared between all characters on the same Realm type.

Board Adjustments

There will now be a maximum limit of 5 Paragon Boards that can be used.
One new Paragon Board will be introduced for each class.

Class Changes

Tempering Updates

Weapon Tempering Affixes will now grant multiplicative bonuses.
Offensive Tempering Affixes will grant additive damage increases.
Size and Duration Affixes have been moved to the Utility category.

Ultimate Skill Ranks

Ultimate Skills can now be increased up to Rank 5.
Additional Skills Ranks will grant additional damage and reduced Cooldown.
Only one Ultimate Skill can be equipped at a time.

Players will be able to set their preferred Town Portal location.
There will be a separate Dungeon Key inventory tab.
Monster Crowd Control will be reworked.
Monsters will now die instantly, and will not have long death animations.

Runewords

Offering is the new resource system for Runes.
Overflow is when the Offering exceeds the Runeword's trigger.

Runeword Rules

Runewords will only be available in Vessel of Hatred.
Players will only be able to equip two Runewords at a time.

Runewords will allow players to cast spells from other Classes.

Crafting

Using three of the same Rune will allow you to craft one of another Rune.

2.0 PTR - Need to Knows

Everything discussed today will be available to test in the PTR.
The first testing phase will be available from September 4th - September 6th for leveling.
Starting midday on September 6th, players will be able to test the latest endgame content.

There will be a vendor that will sell various items for players to test.
This vendor will also provide Pit materials, Runes, Tempering Manuals, and other consumables.

Questions and Answers

The team is working on an Armory (Loadouts) system, and they will provide an update when they have one.

There could be more difficulty Tiers added in the future.

Nightmare Dungeons will be where players can receive Materworking Materials.

Players will be able to unsocket Runes and move them to different items.

One Mythic Unique will grant additional damage to Angels and Demons.

World Tiers Statues have been added to a few more locations across the game.

The team is discussing making Paragon Glyphs realm-wide.

Runes can not be socketed into an item that also has a Gem.

Runes will be stackable.
