Twisting Blades Rogue Best Leveling Gear for Diablo 4
Although you will depend on random drops for most of your gear, you will have a variety of choices available to you. You can also make informed decisions about whether an apparent upgrade is better for you based on other properties. You may even find yourself in a position of getting a build-defining Legendary Aspect drop -- for a build different from your own. In those cases, it may be worth considering changing builds as you level, since a respec is cheap at this stage.
Best Legendary Aspects from Dungeons
While you can't rely on getting a Legendary Aspect from a drop, you can find Legendaries in other ways. The good news is that there are Legendary Aspects you can acquire early on from dungeons, which are then transcribed into your Codex of Power. Aspects from the first three zones -- Fractured Peaks, Dry Steppes, and Scosglen -- can be farmed very early on.
Best Farmed Legendary Aspects
Jalal's Vigil, Scosglen
Champion's Demise, Dry Steppes
Underroot, Scosglen
Oldstones, Scosglen
Renegade's Retreat, Kehjistan
Halls of the Damned, Kehjistan
grants the build a huge passive damage improvement. Make sure to pick up the Aspect as soon as possible! helps improve our resource management, even the Codex of Power version of this Aspect is worth it to pick up early on. is a very strong general Aspect to pick up during the leveling process for many different builds, which makes it very flexible even when switching builds based on the drops you are getting during leveling.
Codex of Power Overview
Best Dropped Legendary Aspects
While we shouldn't have to rely on a dropped Aspect for a leveling build, these are some dropped Legendaries that are great for the build. You'll want to keep your eyes out for these.
provides you with damage, survivability, and Energy through multiple synergies from Passives and other Aspects. makes Critical Strikes from increase your Attack Speed. This helps with your general damage output, especially during Inner Sight burst phases. It will also help with Energy generation when using (with ).

Twisting Blades Rogue Best Weapon Choices
Weapons are important to all classes in Diablo 4, since all player damage output keys off weapon damage. Therefore, it's very important to keep your weapon updated by replacing it regularly. Beyond that, Weapons also have Inherent Physical Characteristics native to that weapon type, so there often is a "best" weapon for a particular build.
Imprinting a two-handed weapon with a Legendary Aspect will increase that Legendary's variable power by 100%. Be sure to use Legendaries here that can benefit from it; one that just gives a flat +2 to Skill Ranks isn't going to give +4 when put onto a two-hander. The key here is to look at the variable (the numbers in blue text with a range) to see what the effect will be.
When it comes to
Melee
weapons, both Daggers (+X% Damage to Close Enemies) and Swords (+X% Critical Strike Damage) can be used.
You have the freedom to choose whichever
Ranged
weapon grants you the best item affixes. Disregard the weapon DPS completely, as none of our active skills is using the Ranged slot. This also allows you to imprint a Legendary Aspect on your Ranged weapon for the 100% increased power of its effect.
Gear and Itemization Overview Blacksmith Guide
Twisting Blades Rogue Best Leveling Gems
Gems fit into gear sockets and add bonuses depending on whether they are in Armor, Weapons, or Jewelry. Starting at level 20, you'll be able to combine Gems to upgrade them to higher quality and higher bonuses.
Gems come in various qualities from Chipped to Royal. While the gem properties do not change, the traits improve with higher quality. Therefore, while we list only one quality of gem here for listing purposes, you should always socket the highest level gem you can get and equip at your level.
Armor Gems
gems will increase our health and help with surviving one-shot abilities. You can also use which provide us with a sizeable boost in damage reduction during dire situations where we lose control over our character, but it is a more situational option.
Weapon Gems
Everything we fight is affected by Vulnerable, leading to an increase in our Critical Strike Damage, including boss fights! While it might seem that leads to the same outcome, bosses are immune to any form of CC, meaning we would lose out on the damage increase during boss fights.
Jewelry Gems
While we recommend Diamonds as a default for Resistance Gems, you should always check your Resistances to see if any of them are capped (these will show up in green text). If one or two other Resistances are capped, you may consider replacing one or more of the Diamonds with specific Resistance gems to shore up weaknesses.
