This Wowhead build guide for the Pulverize Werebear Druid in Diablo 4 Season 4 covers the best skills for leveling from 1-50, including skills, rotations, and and choices for the Druid unique class mechanic, Spirit Boons.
This guide also covers gearing strategies for leveling, including the best Legendary Aspects to farm from dungeons in both lower-level and higher-level zones. We also direct you to which Gear Affixes and gems are most desirable for the Pulverize Werebear Druid.
Pulverize Werebear Druid Overview in Diablo 4
The Pulverize Werebear brings a devastating amount of burst damage, standing tall amongst even the most dangerous enemies due to the enormous survivability it's able to maintain consistently well. There's no glass cannon to be found here even when jumping difficulties incredibly early in levels as this build is constantly generating defensives, despite hitting so incredibly hard.
Pulverize plays as though the game has been set to the easiest difficulty possible. This is largely due to the fact that it hits in huge, health-bar chunking bursts while shrugging off enemy attacks which would outright kill other builds or classes. Pulverize is at its highest when able to fight tightly packed groups of enemies, however, even when it comes to single-target fights it's easily able to win the war of attrition. All of this allows Pulverize to clear the Capstone Dungeons incredibly early in levels.

Strengths and Weaknesses for Pulverize Werebear Druid
From Human, to Werebear, then to Werewolf, and back to Human - the Pulverize Werebear isn't so black-and-white. Generally builds with such engaging gameplay tend to be rather difficult, yet this is not the case even slightly. Simplicity with a laid-back playstyle is the name of the Pulverize Werebear. It takes a little while to get going, although once we have a few more skill points the build really comes online. This build functions so smoothly that one typically won't even notice until they step into their first Capstone Dungeon, then walk back out victorious minutes later.

How to Play Pulverize Werebear Druid
There is a muscle memory style rotation one will want to master to fully empower the Pulverize Werebear. Luckily it isn't very complicated and is rather straightforward with some of our abilities being underutilized, since they exist simply to benefit our .
This is a common rotation for the Pulverize Werebear Druid. It generally boils down to three main abilities, whilst the others are very situational or hardly ever used. Please see our Active Skills section for more detailed descriptions.
- Always our first ability cast before using .
- Our bread and butter source of damage.
- Used off cooldown to generate Spirit, or to heal.
- Saved for Elites generally or annoying enemy groups.
- May be used for increased Critical Strike Chance to enemies it hits. Otherwise, unused.
- Typically will only be activated when out of options, or to kill a very low-health enemy as you run away. Unused otherwise.

Leveling Build for Pulverize Werebear Druid
This part of the guide focuses on the core of the build -- those skills you need to take and develop most as you approach level 50.
Active Skills for Pulverize Werebear Druid
This section includes the six Active skills you'll be using on your Skill Bar, in order of how they appear on the skill tree. Consult the tree for recommendations on which skills should be taken and when.
Wind Shear
(1/5)
Basic
Modifiers:
We're often going to be using Wind Shear as our main source of Spirit generation, although we also want to make certain it is always our first ability cast before using due to being a massive increase in damage. As an added bonus, Wind Shear may also be used whilst traveling around since it gives a sizeable Movement Speed increase - something we're drastically lacking as we level.
Pulverize
(5/5)
Core
Modifiers:
Pulverize is our main and only real source of substantial damage. Due to our modifier, we want to make sure we're constantly Healthy so that we're always building towards an Overpower. We're constantly going to be using Pulverize as well so our enemies hit by the ability will nearly always be dealing reduced damage to us.
When cast, Pulverize hits in an AoE circle around where it lands. however sends out a Shockwave slightly ahead of where our paws land. To maximize damage, we want to make sure both Pulverize and are hitting. Ideally, this means we want a very minor gap between us and our target while also aiming in the direction of the largest group of enemies.
Blood Howl
(1/5)
Defensive
Modifiers:
One of the largest issues Druids generally have while leveling is being so Spirit-hungry. Blood Howl reduces this problem substantially as it is constantly off cooldown when fighting AoE groups of enemies. This in combination with , , and nearly completely negates our Spirit problems. On top of this - Blood Howl also keeps our health topped off with the Heal it provides. Overall, it is an amazing ability.
Note: When doing the Tier 4 Capstone Dungeon early is almost required to survive. This depends on how early in levels one decides upon. However is enough to prevent one-shots during certain points in the dungeon, especially Elias.
Poison Creeper
(1/5)
Companion
Modifiers:
Poison Creeper deals decent damage as we level, yet the Critical Strike Chance when it strangles an enemy is substantial. Typically this will be saved for Elites or Bosses since it has a rather lengthy cooldown. More importantly, Poison Creeper empowers our .
Ravens
(1/5)
Companion
Modifiers:
Ravens also mainly serve to empower our , although the active use provides a valuable amount of Critical Strike Chance against the enemies it hits. As well the damage from Ravens while leveling is decent. Not the greatest, yet respectable nevertheless.
Wolves
(1/5)
Companion
The damage isn't there and Wolves almost entirely exist in our build to benefit . It does have one use otherwise: Wolves can provide a decent distraction for enemies. This comes in handy on very rare occasions yet it's quite useful when it does.
Passive Skills for Pulverize Werebear Druid

Abundance
(3/3)
Core
We use our Basic Skill quite often to generate Spirit which makes Abundance quite welcome.
Predatory Instinct
(3/3)

Iron Fur

Due to the condition, Iron Fur is running constantly for us during combat.
Ancestral Fortitude
(1/3)
Defensive
Only a single point is taken to reach the next, more important passive.

Crushing Earth
(3/3)

Stone Guard
(3/3)
Wrath

Safeguard
(1/3)
Wrath
Just a single point to gain the passive, although extra points are more valuable elsewhere.
Defiance
(3/3)
Ultimate
Another substantial damage increase.
Circle of Life
(1/3)
Ultimate
We have another huge source of healing which causes us to only take a single point to reach another powerful passive.

Pulverize Werebear Druid Best Leveling Gear for Diablo 4
Although you will depend on random drops for most of your gear, you will have a variety of choices available to you. You can also make informed decisions about whether an apparent upgrade is better for you based on other properties. You may even find yourself in a position of getting a build-defining Legendary Aspect drop -- for a build different from your own. In those cases, it may be worth considering changing builds as you level, since a respec is cheap at this stage.
Best Legendary Aspects from Dungeons
While you can't rely on getting a Legendary Aspect from a drop, you can find Legendaries in other ways. The good news is that there are Legendary Aspects you can acquire early on from dungeons, which are then transcribed into your Codex of Power. Aspects from the first three zones -- Fractured Peaks, Dry Steppes, and Scosglen -- can be farmed very early on.
Best Farmed Legendary Aspects
Ferals' Den, Scosglen
Aspect of Disobedience
Belfry Zakara, Hawezar
Dark Ravine, Dry Steppes
Shivta Ruins, Kehjistan
Seaside Descent, Dry Steppes
Bloodsoaked Crag, Dry Steppes
All of these are substantial increases with some being more vital than others. Luckily they're all able to be farmed from dungeons. in particular provides the largest increase in power by far.
Codex of Power Overview
Best Dropped Legendary Aspects
While we shouldn't have to rely on a dropped Aspect for a leveling build, these are some dropped Legendaries that are great for the build. You'll want to keep your eyes out for these.
is a game-changing Legendary Power and should be placed on a decent Amulet straight away once it is found. benefits with a hefty damage increase since more Companions translate to more damage. Finally, is more consistent than .
Occultist Crafting Overview Legendary Aspects Guide Druid Legendary Aspects
Pulverize Werebear Druid Best Weapon Choices
Weapons are important to all classes in Diablo 4, since all player damage output keys off weapon damage. Therefore, it's very important to keep your weapon updated by replacing it regularly. Beyond that, Weapons also have Inherent Physical Characteristics native to that weapon type, so there often is a "best" weapon for a particular build.
Imprinting a two-handed weapon with a Legendary Aspect will increase that Legendary's variable power by 100%. Be sure to use Legendaries here that can benefit from it; one that just gives a flat +2 to Skill Ranks isn't going to give +4 when put onto a two-hander. The key here is to look at the variable (the numbers in blue text with a range) to see what the effect will be.
We want to use a two-handed Weapon at nearly all times with placed upon it as the damage boost is simply too powerful to consider a one-handed/off-hand option. Which type depends on the highest damage one can find.
Gear and Itemization Overview Blacksmith Guide
Pulverize Werebear Druid Best Leveling Gems
Gems fit into gear sockets and add bonuses depending on whether they are in Armor, Weapons, or Jewelry. Starting at level 20, you'll be able to combine Gems to upgrade them to higher quality and higher bonuses.
Gems come in various qualities from Chipped to Royal. While the gem properties do not change, the traits improve with higher quality. Therefore, while we list only one quality of gem here for listing purposes, you should always socket the highest level gem you can get and equip at your level.
Armor Gems
Rubies are the only real option for Armor Gems since they provide both tankiness and a damage increase by benefiting Overpower.
Weapon Gems
Despite not being able to stack a ton of Overpower whilst leveling, Rubies still provide the largest benefit for our Weapon gems.
Jewelry Gems
Skulls are by far the strongest gems as we level. Elemental damage deals very little damage to us until World Tier 4, well past leveling-build range.

Absolutely loving this build. Great job!
Two small mistakes in the guide I've noticed so far:
Under boons "Bolster" is listed incorrectly as snake not wolf.
Under skill assignments #6 - Preserving Pulverize is supposed to be Primal Pulverize.

I run soimethingf similar to this but it focuses more on turning
践踏
and
粉碎
into earth skills and getting a lot more synergy that way.
I see a lot of wasted points in your build that could be put to better use elsewhere. You did a great job coming up with this and I see a lot of online builds making some of the same mistakes that I see here.
1. Storm Strike as well as every other Basic Skill is a one point wonder unless its one of the 5% of builds focused on the Basic Skill. Like Arc Lash build for Sorc for example. They're used to generate resource and apply CC's, Vulnerabilitry, and other class specific effects in the vast majority of cases.
2. Your build focuses a lot on putting points into Passives that give spirit generation or flat damage reduction. Basically what I mean is that Bear and Earth Skills almost always deal with Fortify and Overpower which can be taken advantage of to put points into Defensive talents that will in turn increase damage through Fortify/Overpower.
3. Spirit generation or just not having enough Spirit is a problem that can be solved through gearing and an Aspect or two.
4. Compansions unless you are building you entire character around them are also basically 1 point wonders, to get some synergy with what build your going for
This is a quick example of something I run

Using Aspects such as
弹道威能
威能月蚀之
移风者的威能
威能践踏大地之
威能恐怖熊人之
(Its not obvious from text but Pulverize will get Earth and Nature Magic ttags with this)
威能流沙之
威能疗愈石之
威能还击之
碾石威能
. These all all examples to give you some ideas of what you can do with turning Pulverize and Trample into Earth.
Hurricane is just my personal preferance over a Companion since it works with Resonance and as a bear im always in melee range. You could easily switch it out fore Poison Creeper (+1 point wonder) just to stun packs but I prefer the extra Vuln i get with Hurricane for Bosses.,
Boons: 10% life increases Fortify as a result Overpower dmg too. Wolf Boon you kinda have a choice of whatever you prefer.
As for gems same thing put in Rubys for more life boost Fort/Overpower, I also prefer Emeralds in weapons for Bosses, Sapphire is also an option for weapons though you get no benefit from them in Boss fights. and I put Diamonds in my Jewelry.
Hope this helped you! Good luck and like I said just givcing suggestions that will hopefully inspire you to make some chaneges and make your build even better.

This build easily got me to the end of the campaign and level 50, thank you! While a friend struggled with squishiness as a Rogue on some bosses or fights, once I got used to this build I had no problem staying up.
Can we get a more detailed list or graph of Paragon Point usage? I’m a little lost on what to choose.
Thanks again!

Can you suggest which aspect should be on neck and weapon if 2h? Since they provide more of a benefit on those slots, they're important.

Thank you @renataKane for this Druid build guide, been following it since the beginning with wolves!
Happy to say i have rebuilt my Thorns Druid using your pagon skill tree (after getting a Razorplate drop in Torment) and it is fantastic! Having the double Landslide and pulverize Shockwave is a killer Aspect when in thorns mode!
Will be following this as we move into Season 1!
