has revealed the latest Runeword that will be released in the upcoming Patch 2.4:

Here are some observations made by the D2 team here at Wowhead:
The runeword Plague, similar to Pattern, was one of two runewords that has appeared in Diablo II's database in the past but was never released.
Compared to its old version ChamFalUm, the development team took out a Fal and put in a Shael rune. +Strength is replaced by +IAS, Damage to Demons turned into Enhanced Damage, and the Fire Damage modifier has been removed.
The biggest change is affecting the Deadly Strike modifier: While the old version had a 0.3 modifier per level, the new version seems to feature a 0.37 modifier, providing a 37% Deadly Strike chance at level 99.
The fourth runeword of the week looks to add support to Act 3's Iron Wolf mercenaries. The sword wielders would make good use of Plague, essentially using a whole poison-focussed build as a weapon on their own - but only if Blizzard makes changes to their melee hit rate which currently is at a mere 10%.
One of the builds that could make use of this as part of an A5 merc setup is the Poison Nova Necromancer, turning the player into a support class with its own Poison Nova and a max-leveled Lower Resist curse to debuff for their merc.
