After the first three days of Diablo II: Resurrected's Ladder Season 1, over 500,000 players have been ranked on the official leaderboards. Just two weeks ago, an official press release has unveiled that
Diablo II: Resurrected has sold over 5 million units
since launch last year. The following rounded numbers have been gathered by analyzing the in-game ladder option across all four game modes:

If you want to check your personal ranking in-game, you'll have to wait for a bit to get the actual real-time rank because according to Blizzard, the official leaderboards are down as of now while the development team is working on a fix:
The leaderboards are down. We are aware of the issue and working to fix it. No leaderboard data will be lost and it will be updated once the issue has been resolved.
The remaster of the ARPG classic was released back in September and fans have been waiting for its inaugural ladder season ever since. However, server and database hiccups caused problems for a majority of the playerbase even after the first days of a rocky launch. Blizzard
shared with the community
that legacy code caused the game's databases to behave abnormally under heavy load. Following over two months of development, the Diablo team
deployed a fix
for the database issue. What followed was the release of
Patch 2.4, Diablo II: Resurrected's first big content update
, introducing several huge changes to classes, mercenaries, and more, and the release of Resurrected's first ladder season on April 28.
