The Alpha test of D2:R went great, and the devs decided to stick with the release date as well as the decision to do Multiplayer Beta testing in the summer.
Besides D2:R, Diablo Immortal's Alpha testers have given great feedback as well.
Diablo 4 is "deep in development", quarterly development update announced for the end of the month.
Blizzard's decision to remaster Diablo 2 was caused by the intention to reignite the core audience of the franchise.
A total of 27 minutes worth of completely remastered cinematics will appear in Diablo 2: Resurrected.
Members of the original Diablo 2 cinematics team contributed to the effort creating the new yet original cinematic experience.
Community feedback regarding the Alpha and QoL features like increased stash space was "phenomenal".
D2:R's development team also teamed up with partners like
Able Gamers
to make D2:R more accessible.
Beta will feature true Multiplayer on Blizzard servers, also happening on console.
Druid and Paladin will be playable during the Beta, total of five classes playable.
D2:R's Open Beta will follow after the Pre-Order Multiplayer Beta in August.
WFH development during the pandemic has been very productive due to Blizzard's great infrastructure but also challenging especially for console testing.
