News Roundup: Recent Hotfixes, Legendary Questline, PvP Power in Warlords
In today's news, there's a few more PvP and raid hotfixes, as well as Blizzard's thoughts on how the
Mists of Pandaria legendary questline
turned out--they like how people could chase rewards throughout the entire expansion and do so in LFR, but realize that the Valor Point grind in 5.1 was less fun.
It was recently announced that a new PvP Season (
Prideful Gladiator
) was coming in Mists, and there's been some discussion on PvP Power being handled differently in Warlords of Draenor--instead of a flat percentage increase to normal damage/healing in PvP, it could be a bonus amount of your spec's primary stat (Agility, Intellect, or Strength).

Warlords of Draenor Initial Toybox Details
The toybox is a new feature in Warlords of Draenor letting users
collect vanity items
and store them in a special account-wide collection to free up bag space. The toybox is one of many UI improvements in Warlords of Draenor, which also include a collection tab for heirlooms and no more quest items cluttering up bag space.
The Toybox is still in development but we have some initial questions answered today in a blue post from Rygarius:
Vanity items that are equipped, like
Burgy Blackheart's Handsome Hat
, may be converted into a spell so they can work in the toybox, so you can activate the effect without having to click on the item.
Archäologie
items will be included in the toybox tab.
Several rare items like
Sylvanas' Spieluhr
may still be character-specific if there's a need for it, but nothing is certain.
Quest items that people hold onto for fun, like
Erzmagier Vargoths Stab
, will be looked out for so they won't go away like other generic quest items.
Gear with fun effects is still up in the air--it's recommended not to delete anything you're unsure about.

PvP Season 15 Announced for Mists of Pandaria
PvP Designer Brian Holinka tweeted that
MoP is getting an additional arena season
, which has led to some speculation on Warlords of Draenor's launch date.
At the
BlizzCon fansite panel
, it was stated that no Patch 5.5 was planned, so if you don't love PvP, you could be in for a long stretch of no new content in Mists of Pandaria. This is a striking change from the very fast patches at the start of MoP and more in line with the long pre-expansion wait during Dragon Soul.
However, Blizzard could have some surprises in store like a mini-raid like Ruby Sanctum or quality-of-life patch like
Patch 5.4.2
with cross-realm mail and Flex raids.
Right now, we're several months into Season 14 and past PvP seasons have all
been over 20 weeks long
. Assuming Season 14 and Season 15 are on the short side, which is very optimistic, that

Gear Changes in Warlords of Draenor
Blizzard posted a lengthy blog covering all the changes to gear in Warlords of Draenor--broken down into two subcategories, Armor and Non Armor. Click the cut for the full blog, or check out our summary below:
Armor
Your gear for armor slots (helms, shoulders, etc) changes primary stats and set bonuses based on your spec. There is no "strength plate" or "intellect plate"--simply plate that changes based on your role. Gear for these primary armor slots will always contain Stamina and Armor, as well as either Agility/Intellect/Strength based on your spec.
Secondary stats for armor will remain unchanged when switching between specs (crit, mastery, haste). Hit, expertise, dodge, and parry are removed completely, and spirit and bonus armor no longer appear on armor pieces.
New secondary stats, in addition to crit, mastery, haste: Amplify, Multistrike, and Readiness.
Readiness
increases the cooldown recovery rate of some abilities,
Multistrike
gives separate chances to hit each target an additional time for 30% damage, and [url=

News Roundup: Talk Azeroth BlizzCon Edition, WoD Item and Stat Clarifications
Talk Azeroth With Olivia--BlizzCon Edition
Olivia's back after the roof blew off her studio, with a Talk Azeroth focusing on one of the biggest pieces of news to come out of BlizzCon, the changes in raid sizes. She's wondering just exactly what the impact will be on different guilds, from LFR right up to the controversial new Mythic raiding mode, as well as talking through a few of your responses to Talk Azeroth 17, and asking for your questions and views on Garrisons.
Warlords of Draenor: Itemization Changes and New Stats
Blizzard devs have been very active on Twitter discussing item and stat changes in Warlords of Draenor. You can learn about the entire itemization preview at BlizzCon on our
Warlords of Draenor Guide
, or check out the clarifications below. Most of these details were covered at BlizzCon, but it's easy to forget some details with so much new information!
Spirit (healers) and armor (tanks) will only appear on accessory slots, weapons, and gems, not main slots like helms. Accessory items will most likely just have secondary stats.
Only main armor pieces like helms will swap their prim

No Flying in Draenor Until 6.1
One of the controversial announcements in
Warlords of Draenor
is the decision to have Draenor be ground-mount only until Patch 6.1. This means no flying mounts, even if you're level 100, until the first major patch hits.
Bashiok explained the reasoning behind this today, citing the following:
Previous expansions did not allow players to fly when leveling up--Warlords of Draenor will work in the same way.
Blizzard is happy with how
Insel des Donners
and
Zeitlose Insel
were max level zones with only ground mounts, and thinks level 100 players in Warlords will be similarly successful.
Flying trivializes combat--you can just leave combat at will. Imagine what dungeons or battlegrounds would be like if you could fly--the experience would be cheapened.
The pacing of outdoor zones is thrown off by flying combat. Zones suddenly appear much smaller since traveling is fast, mountains and other striking scenery is diminished when you can just fly there, and the sense of exploration is toned down.
