Voice Chat Available for Testing on Battle for Azeroth Alpha
16.04.2018 um 13:50
Over the years, Blizzard has slowly introduced their
Battle.net Voice Chat
system in their games. Battle for Azeroth seems to be the expansion that will bring that technology to World of Warcraft!
Official Test Announcement
Voice chat in the Battle For Azeroth Alpha is now enabled and ready for early testing and feedback.
You'll find the voice chat controls along the left side of the text chat window, and you can configure your devices and push-to-talk in the Voice Chat section of System settings.
Please feel free to post your feedback on this new feature here in this thread.
The first step to get the voice chat to work is... Join a group! (Currently, it doesn't work with raid groups)
Once you're in a group a toast message will show up, from where you can enter the voice channel. By default, the voice comms use
as the push-to-talk key.
There are three new buttons added to the default chat box:
Deafen Voice Chat
Mute Voice Chat
The first button opens the old
menu that has received updates to support the new Voice system, while the latter two provide basic tools for it. Besides that, everyone currently speaking will also have their names and portrait shown at the top of the chat box. Currently, the system lacks any further sound customization and sounds a bit weird in-game, but those issues will be likely fixed as the Battle for Azeroth testing progresses.
