Shadowlands
is upon us, and you’re going to want to get an edge in leveling up and preparing for Season 1. Between new instances like
The Theater of Pain
, the repeatable
Torghast, Tower of the Damned
, or the upcoming
Castle Nathria
raid, you’re going to want quick access to all your new abilities. That’s why we’re once again partnering with Razer to help you level up your play experience!

Shadowlands Unpruning - More Abilities Than Ever
By now we’re all used to the level squish that came with the
Shadowlands
pre-patch, but that doesn’t mean we have fewer abilities across the board to use. In fact, most classes and talent specializations regained some abilities that had previously been pruned away. Death Knights of all specs once again have Anti-Magic Zone, Chains of Ice, Death and Decay, Death Coil, Lichborne, and Raise Dead, meaning six new things to put on their action bars. Druids are getting five abilities back across all specs, while Hunters get six more — just to name a few. That’s not even including what you’ll have by the time you reach level 60.
With all these new abilities, you’re going to want quick access to as many of them as possible, and the Razer Naga Pro Mouse fits the bill perfectly. It has up to 12 extra, conveniently-placed buttons over regular mice, and that means 12 extra keys, macros, or whatever you want within easy reach.
Razer is Perfect for Any WoW Player
12 Action Bar Buttons, 12 Extra Mouse Buttons
The first thought with all these extra buttons is to set each action bar button to their corresponding number on the mouse. Most of us can only reach the 1 through 4, 1 through 5, or maybe 1 through 6 buttons comfortably, and setting it up this way will let you reach all 12 buttons with a single finger. Doing this will let you focus on other important tasks such as moving out of the fire, moving out of the goo, or moving out of the sludge (you know… WoW stuff).
If you’re a healer, especially a Priest or a Druid, you have approximately 300 different tools to help you heal your parties and raid groups. Space can be pretty tight, and even just six extra buttons set to your “Don’t panic, I got this, oh no, oh no, whew,” live-saving abilities can make or break your heroic or mythic attempts.
In PvP arenas, having faster access to your most commonly used abilities can be crucial when every hit point, every second of
Fieser Trick
, and every tick of

matters. You don’t want to be the one that causes your team to lose in a ranked match because you flubbed which action bar you were on and accidentally cast
Spott
when you meant to hit

Remembering the Lesser Used Abilities
There’s no rule saying you have to use this mouse for everything you need to use quickly. You might be pretty comfortable with how you have your primary key binds set up! But what about those abilities you don’t use too often?

(come on, Mages!) could all be assigned to your extra keys instead of digging through all your Action Bars or your Spellbook to find them.
Okay maybe not Zen Pilgrimage with the changes to
Shadowlands
leveling, but you get the idea.
Auras and Consumables
With
Shadowlands
, not only did we get a bunch of abilities back, we also saw the return of a handful of classic auras and consumables that can be used more than once a fight.
While you may not switch auras around too much, I don’t know anyone who has them assigned to a hotkey, instead of moving the mouse over to manually switch between

and
Aura der Hingabe
manually. With a little setup, you can switch auras willy nilly without that extra second or two, or at least have your Paladin make the cool aura change noise faster.
Timers for potions changed in
Shadowlands
, too. So pre-potting is no longer necessary. Combat potions and health potions are now on their own five-minute timers instead of being tied to if you are in combat or not. To absolutely maximize your potion uptime, it would be wise to put your most commonly used potions on a mouse key that you can access quickly without having to think about if the mouse cursor is over the right button.
Raid and Instance Markers
A raid leader who wants to be more efficient could set some or all of the targeting markers to the keys on the Naga Pro. Setting up skull, X, and square is quick and easy when you don’t have to right-click each portrait, go to Target Marker Icon, and pick from there.
If you’re like me, you might also not have a tenkey on your keyboard, so even assigning a few of the most-used targeting markers to a few of the buttons can not only be beneficial, but a time-saver as well! When skull dies and you need a new target for the frost Mage in the back who’s only pressing Frostbolt, Frostbolt, Frostbolt on whatever skull is on, you need them to have a new target quick. Having skull set to 8 makes target switching a breeze and keeps them busy.
Push-to-Talk and Streaming
Raid leading while tanking can mean you’re pressing a lot of keys all over the place, trying to maintain aggro on the boss and fresh adds at the same time while shot calling. Trying to press the tilde (`) key just to talk to your raid group while doing all that is downright awkward and uncomfortable. This is especially true with new content that players aren’t as accustomed to: like that coming in
Shadowlands
.
Setting your push-to-talk key to one of the buttons on this mouse saves you from a lot of hand cramps and helps you carefully, and loudly exclaim to the Hunters to get out of the fire while you heal them back up.
And when it comes to streaming, being able to assign a handy button to turn on your stream mic, or mute your Discord audio, is a plus. No one in the raid wants to hear you thank your subscribers for the follow or the $5 donation in the middle of a fight or wipe.
Macros
Mastering macros can make doing something that’s a chore or something that requires precision much easier.
Setting up macros to use in PvP matches that unleash burst damage from the same mouse key is so helpful. Tanks can set up their macros, such as putting
Heldenhafter Wurf
and
Sturmangriff
on the same key to make tanking setup a breeze.
That Classic Feel
If you bounce between Retail and Classic, having all these extra buttons for use in Classic is a must.
Remember that in
WoW Classic
Hunters have a larger variety of traps at their disposal. Shamans have so many more totems in Classic, as well, and those Tauren are going to want super fast access to Tremor Totem in any instance where the Fear spell from enemies is rampant or while fighting the Alliance in Arathi Basin.
Priests and other healers will find a much easier time saving mana by putting their most commonly used downranked spells on the extra keys the MMO mouse affords.
Classic also has so many more consumables that can be used at the same time over the Retail experience. Stopping to use a bandage or pop a potion or two to help you top the DPS meters on Patchwerk is a quick task when you set them up to your mouse.
Is That Too Much?
Having 12 buttons might be overkill for you, especially if you’re a Ret Pally. Maybe your setup works mostly okay for you. The Razer Naga Pro comes with three custom side plates that not only have the 12-button configuration, but also six-button and two-button configuration. Setting mounts, potions, or professions to the six buttons might make the most sense for you. It cuts down on key bloat (if you don’t need all those extra buttons) and makes things even faster, depending on your situation.
If you hop over to
Heroes of the Storm
on off-raid nights, not having to switch between side plates between games but still make use of the whole mouse is a no-brainer. Should you be set in
World of Warcraft
, making your game of choice outside mythic night something like
Overwatch
, you don’t need all those extra keys, but the Naga Pro remains quite comfortable and great for first-person shooters.
And no matter what else you play, or how long your Shadowlands sessions, 150 hours of battery life is never a bad thing. The wireless Razer Naga Pro offers just that, aiding your late-night leveling up to the new cap that comes with each expansion.
Rapid-Fire Use Ideas
Set instant abilities to mouse keys and casts to your keyboard.
Put Auto-Run on one of the keys instead of the default on the tenkey so you never have to take your hand off the keyboard for the default Numlock.
Keep interrupts handy instead of the tucked away Action Bar you know they’re on now.

My Personal Uses
Back when I was a Death Knight tanking
Wrath of the Lich King
, I found that setting
Tod und Verfall
to 5 — dead center of the Razer Naga Trinity, on which the Pro is based — was incredibly useful. It meant that I could set it to an out-of-the-way action bar button, but still use it without digging around when the cooldown was up. With that ability back for all Death Knights in
Shadowlands
, why not have it around for extra threat or extra damage? The same remains true on the sleeker, updated device! The Naga Pro is even wireless, as well, making for a more comfortable range of movement and fewer cords on my desk.
When the
Plünderang
was added for the (ahem) best profession, Engineering, back in Cataclysm, I set that to one of my keys and haven’t looked back. I don’t know the last time I actually clicked a body to loot it.
Before being able to pick flowers from the
Himmelsgolem
was a thing, I set my mount and dismount button to my mouse for quick picking. These days I still use it while I’m circling the zones for ore to smelt!

These days I don’t raid as much, but I still enjoy having the extra keys this mouse has so I don’t have to stretch or contort my hand in the awkward ways required to hit all the keys I use for instances and questing.
