Several Argus cutscenes were added to the 7.3 PTR this week, providing more context and lore tibdits for the Argus Questline. Below are videos and transcripts of the three new cutscenes, as well as a lore analysis using information from
World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume 1
.
As this is a Patch 7.3 PTR story post, there are spoilers within.
This cutscene takes place at

Aggramar: What is your bidding master?
Sargeras: The circle nears completion. The mortals must not disrupt the rebirth.
Those who will not serve will be destroyed. It is the only way.
Become the instrument of my wrath once again, Aggramar. End this incursion of the Light.
Sargeras' line references the
Il'gynoth
quote: "Your coming was foretold in the rings. The long circle is nearly complete."
In
World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume I
, Sargeras was originally the mentor of Aggramar:
Concerned about this deelopment and the continued influx of demonic activity, the Pantheon sent another titan to aid their champion. His name was Aggramar, and though he was inexperienced in battle, he proved a quick study. He earned Sargeras' admiration and became the titan warrior's trusted lieutenant. For many millennia they fought shoulder to shoulder, an impenetrable bulwark against the ravaging demonic onslaught.
Sargeras' and Aggramar's valiant efforts soon brought peace to the cosmos. Demonic incurious would remain a constant threat to the Great Dark, but they became increasingly rare. The titans' worlds prospered, and life, in all of its complexity, flourished.
Later, Sargeras is banished from the Pantheon and decides to purge the universe through creating the Burning Crusade. After witnessing Sargeras destroy a constellar, Aggramar begs Sargeras to reason, eventually challenging him to combat.
Despite his earlier battle with Sargeras, Aggramar believed that something noble still lingered deep in the former champion's heart. As a last resort, he laid down his arms and approached the fallen titan. Aggramar recounted tales of their glorious battles against demons, reminding Sargeras of the sacred oaths they had sworn to protect creation. But Sargeras was set in his ways. Nothing the Pantheon could say--nothing even his cherished protege could say--would ever change his mind.
With a howl of rage and sorrow, Sargeras struck Aggramar down, his ruined fel blade nearly cleaving the titan in two.

Sargeras: The hour of rebirth draws near. Are the souls prepared?
Aggramar: Our kin still resists the true path, master. But they will soon be broken.
Sargeras: One still eludes us. Her essence is needed to ensure the victory of my crusade.
Aggramar: The Life-Binder will soon reveal herself. She will not escape me, master!
Sargeras: When my new Pantheon rises, none will stand against the Legion!
In World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume 1, we learn that the bodies of the Titans were destroyed by Sargeras, but the spirits of the remaining titans were protected by Norgannon.
Norgannon bent the raw energies of the universe to his will, weaving a protective shroud around each of the titans' spirits and launching them into the Great Dark. While the titans' disembodied souls hurtled through the cosmos, Sargeras's fel storm obliterated what remained of their physical forms. (Page 50)
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Sargeras, the last embers of the Pantheon's power clung to life. Although Sargeras had destroyed the titans' physical forms, Norgannon's grand spellwork had preserved their souls. The disembodied titan spirits hurtled through the great dark toward the world of Azeroth and its keepers. There, the Pantheon hoped they could locate physical forms to inhabit. If they could not find such vessels, the titans feared their weakened spirits would soon fade into oblivion.
Upon reaching Azeroth , the depleted spirits slammed into the keepers, who had been crafted by the Pantheon's own hands. The keepers were immediately overwhelmed as the titans' powers flared in their minds. They witnessed fragmented memories of distant worlds, of lifetimes never lived and wonders never seen. But just as quickly as the influx of power had come, it dimmed. (Page 54)
There are a lot of questions raised by this cutscene and the information in Chronicles--how did Sargeras get ahold of the spirits? Were the titan spirits completely absorbed by the Keepers? Are the spirits "depleted" because fragments of them were scattered to the cosmos, easily allowing Sargeras to collect and capture them? Will part of Chronicles be retconned?
Muffinus provided a little insight as to these questions via Twitter:
In the 7.3 quest dialogue, Magni Bronzebeard fears that Sargeras has been orchestrating the plan to create a Dark Pantheon for a very long time. Aggramar has been tasked with finding Eonar's spirit, so it's of utmost importance you protect her.
The Coven of Shivarra--Noura, Mother of Flames, Asara, Mother of Night, Diima, Mother of Gloom, Thu'raya, Mother of the Cosmos--holds the titan essences captive, and during their encounter in Antorus, you will use titan-themed abilities. Learn more about this Antorus encounter at

Magni Bronzebeard: Khaz'goroth's will is bein' twisted. He can't control his flame!
Magni Bronzebeard: They're tearin' Norgannon's mind ta pieces!
Magni Bronzebeard: Golganneth... he's lost in a storm o' agony!
Magni Bronzebeard: They're usin' Aman'thul's mastery o' time against ye!

Eonar: I remember the awakening. How life sprang forth all around us.
I remember unity...until it was shattered by betrayal.
I remember fleeing...to keep him from his prize.
The time for hiding is over. Aid me...or everything ends.
In other dialogue, we learn that Eonar's spirit was kept safe away and we must protect her during an encounter in Antorus:
Essence of Eonar: Welcome, mortals, to my sanctuary.
Essence of Eonar: Champions, hear me. The Legion has breached my sanctuary, and my defenses will soon be overrun. Stand with me now, lest Sargeras claim his prize.
Essence of Eonar: For countless ages my spirit has lingered here, safe from the Dark Titan's grasp. But he has found me at last, and comes to claim my power.
Essence of Eonar: The tormented cries of the Pantheon ring out from deep within the core of Argus.
Essence of Eonar: Release them, champions, or your struggle will be for naught.
Essence of Eonar: I implore you, stand with me. Together we can drive back this onslaught and deprive Sargeras of victory.
Essence of Eonar: Time grows short. The enemy closes in. Approach me and stand ready, my children. The final battle is at hand.
Eonar is the one remaining free titan spirit. She was quick to side with Aggramar to protect the new world he discovered--Azeroth, and convinced the other titans to save the planet and defeat the Black Empire. When the Keepers were created, she used the keeper Freya as a conduit for her powers, and blessed the proto-drakes Alexstrasza and Ysera.
