On this day, August 30th 2016, six years ago, Dalaran relocated to the Broken Isles, and Legion was upon us. Overall Legion was a success. Widely regarded as one of the best World of Warcraft expansions, Legion was rife with classic imagery, new lore and history, and Demon Hunters. One of the iconic villains of the franchise made a return as a not villain, allowing yet more art and imagery of the enigmatic Illidan to draw in players both new and old.
The Tomb of Sargeras has been reopened, and the demons of the Burning Legion pour into our world. Their full, terrifying might is fixed on summoning the Dark Titan to Azeroth — and they've already located the key to his return.
With the Alliance and Horde devastated, adventurers must take up legendary artifacts and weapons used by the heroes of old, scour the ancient Broken Isles for relics of the Titans, and challenge the Burning Legion before Azeroth's last hope dies.
Steel yourself, champion. Extinction is imminent.
New Continent: The Broken Isles
A sprawling new continent, the Broken Isles offered the usual magnificence of World of Warcraft zones. Be it the towering peaks of Highmountain, the sun-dappled forests of Val'sharah, or the amazingly intricate city of Suramar, the new world was a treat well up to the expected standard. In addition to the new Azeroth zones, new off-world zones in Argus and the new Demon Hunter class starting area provided a spectacular playground.

In addition to the conventional Dungeons and Raids, Legion introduced the solo challenge dungeon Mage Tower which was widely lauded as an excellent experience.
New Class: Demon Hunter
Demon Hunter was added as a new class. Only two races can be Demon Hunters, Blood Elves for the Horde and Night Elves for the Alliance. Demon Hunters can choose between two specs, Havoc for DPS and Vengeance for tanking. A highlight of the class was new movement mechanics including
Doppelsprung
and
Gleiten
.
New System: Artifact Weapons
The major new System for Legion was Artifact Weapons. Despite a special questline for every spec, and magnificent designs, the Artifact Weapons divided player opinion because of the heavy reliance on borrowed power that they inevitably brought.

New System: Class Orders
Classes were celebrated in Legion, with every class having access to a Class Order Hall along with Class oriented quests and content. From the halls of the gods to the city sewers, the Class Order Halls spread across the expansion, giving every class a home base, a refuge from the invasion, and a place to run into like-minded players and NPCs.
Class Hall Overview
The advent of Chromie Time allows new characters to level through the Legion expansion and experience it similarly to the way it was intended. If you missed this expansion, or if you'd like to re-experience it, create a new character, and talk to Chromie!
