Just like last time, we decided to create some BINGO cards for this Q&A. This time, we created 4 BINGO cards with the same squares but just swapped them around. Pick your favorite one and play along with us!

PTR is now being updated for 8.0!
Are we getting Blood Trolls during the new expansion?
There was an interview at E3 where a WoW developer respoke. He meant to say Zandalari Trolls instead of Blood Trolls. Blood Trolls are bad.
Is the Allied Race system going to be a BFA system?
It's a centerpiece of BFA, but it's also an awesome tool for the future where it makes in the story.
Are we going to see a similar patch cycle for BFA like we did in Legion?
The overall philosophy at BlizzCon 2016 worked out as it would and they've received good feedback -- The tick tock structure of large raids and other raids seemed to work out well. The content release schedule is more "what is the right time to release this" rather than following a patch schedule.
Can you talk about how flying will be handled in BFA?
Flying cannot be obtained in 8.0. It can be obtained in a later part of the expansion. There's a display bug that currently shows on the achievement but you'll only need to complete one faction and not both to complete
Pfadfinder von Battle for Azeroth, Teil eins
.
Are you keeping the Pathfinder Achievements in old zones and expansions?
They discuss it internally occasionally but it devalues the time spent earning it while it may be more convenient. There's also a mount you get from
Pfadfinder von Draenor
.
Can we get a timeline for specs that are still on the radar for major changes prior to prepatch?
The window for major change is rapidly closing. They're still listening to feedback and talent changes may still happen, but shouldn't see any large reworks like Demonology Warlock from the beginning of Alpha. Fury Warrior and Balance Druid aren't as big as the Demonology Warlocks from the beginning. E.g.
Tigerfuror
for Feral Druids will be off GCD in next build.
Now they also have to focus on tuning and balance as well. Discussion on complexity, awkwardness and other feedback is still ongoing but large changes will likely need to wait until Patch 8.1 at this point as they need to work on balance and stability.
Ion specifically mentioned
Enhancement, Elemental and Shadow
for changes in Patch 8.1.
Any more updates about class buffs? Some classes have class buffs while others do not.
What players saw at BlizzCon was an experiment. What they're trying to have reasons for all the reasons to feel specific. It's really simple to say every class just brings a passive buff but there's nothing special. So now they're looking at the package of utility and it made sense to bring back some classic buffs but it doesn't need to be 10. Druids already have pretty great utility, but between
Anregen
, access to a Battle Res and some of the control talents everyone is happy to see a Druid and adding Mark of the Wild on top of that felt gratuitous.
Will classes play like they are on Beta during the BFA pre-patch?
They are focusing on the BFA experience at 120 but they're making sure that you'll still be able to kill everything as normal. You'll still have set bonuses and legendaries but all artifact traits are disabled, but they'll be retuning content to make sure it's not disruptive.
Are we going to see the new systems, talents and stat squish early at Patch release?
There will be some on the PTR that is live today. The pre-expansion patch 8.0 contains all the system updates such as communities and profession updates. What it won't contain is expansion content such as the new zones of Kul Tiras and Zandalar and leveling up.
Will War Mode be available in the BFA pre-patch?
The PvP systems are there in the 8.0 pre-patch as well. This includes the new Honor system, Honor talents and War Mode itself.
There's a lot of confusion about War Mode on RP realms. How will it work?
Except in cases of extreme load, RP realms will not shard as RP communities are more tight knit. For War Mode, it is going to work along the same times. If you are on a RP server and turn on War Mode, you will only see other players of your server that have War Mode turned on.
Are the cross realm restrictions on Mythic raids still going forwards?
There's a lot of value in preserving the server and guild identity. They're trying something new in BFA.
There's a new type of achievement in BFA called the Hall of Fame achievements which are split between the two factions:
Ruhmeshalle: G'huun (Horde)
and
Ruhmeshalle: G'huun (Allianz)
. They want to have a leaderboard that shows the top 100 guilds on each faction which will be preserved in the "Hall of Fame". Once both the Horde and Alliance Hall of Fames have been filled, cross realm will be enabled.
Will the artifact be disabled after the retirement quests?
The traits will be deactivated but the relics will not. Relics will still increase the Artifact's item level.
Can you please reconsider locking Artifact skins behind spec restrictions?
It's kinda a special case. There's sometimes a strong fantasy with a specific spec which should be identifiable immediately. But they're also breaking some rules. If you're a holy paladin how are you going to use it going forward? You'll be able to transmog your 2-hander over your 1-hand + shield. Feral Druids don't normally use daggers and they'll be able to transmog their appearance over that. However, it will remain spec specific.
You can't switch any gear while in a M+ right now in BFA. Intended?
This is intended. This is similar to the dungeon Battle Rez limit made in Patch 7.3.5. There are some players that would love to swap their gear between stage 3 and 4 on a raid boss as there will probably be a better loadout for the phase. However, they view a full dungeon as a longer boss. It's more interesting and nuanced when you're trying to balance them against each other. "Do I want to be better at this point in the dungeon, but be worse at this point in the dungeon?
There's some other things such as addons and macros which allow people to gear swap. Most people don't normally do this, and yes they understand that players will find it hard to survive with their defensive loadout and
Prydaz, Xavarics Magnum Opus
but they want players to plan out their strategy beforehand, pick their loadout and then go.
In another way, it's a burden on what you need to do what you need to be competitive. If you plan on pushing currently, you need multiple loadouts at a high item level, compared to just having a regular loadout with a few other pieces which you decide at the beginning of the dungeon. You'll have to decide at the beginning of Eye of Azshara - Do you want to sacrifice some damage during the dungeon to execute Eye of Azshara to death, rather than just getting to the boss and pressing your Execute loadout.
Will there be testing for the new affixes in BFA?
Wütend
was just nerfed from 3% and 2%. There's some other tweaks coming but other affixes are not changing much. The biggest change is
Tyrannisch
and
Verstärkt
occurs right at level 2. This gets rid of the difficulty spike between levels 9 and 10. There is also new Seasonal Affix and themed after the Blood God G'huun in Uldir. After the season is over,
Befallen
will be retired.
The level 10 affix is called
Befallen
and will be active every week. There will be a parasite inside a certain number of non-boss enemies and make that mob resistance to CC, deal bonus damage and have more health. Once it dies, it'll try to make its way to another mob but can be killed and stunned along the way. Which mobs that are
Befallen
will be hand picked by Blizzard, but there will be multiple different sets of possibilities so it's not completely random, but also not the same every week.
How competitive is gear from Mythic Keystones intended to be? Will Azerite effects scale up when it drops in higher Keystone.
Similar to how Legion played out. A Mythic 10 will reward the best possible loot -- about a Heroic Uldir quality item. The weekly chest will unlock a Mythic Uldir quality item.
The power of the Azerite effect is proportional to the item level of the item. Once you get past Blue-quality Azerite Armor, all sources of Azerite Armor are from some form of locked content - from raids, Weekly Conquest Reward and Weekly Mythic+ chest.
On launch how are Mythic dungeons going to work?
Exactly the same as Legion. The plan is there's a three week pre-season period and baseline Mythic dungeons are released where the Titanforging cap is reduced.
How exactly does the catch-up mechanism for the Heart of Azeroth work?
Whereas artifact knowledge increased your AP gains exponentially, the catch-up mechanism reduces the AP required for the Heart of Azeroth ranks by around 30% per week. It's not currently in on beta. The reason they're doing it like this is because by the end of Legion there's very large numbers with players actually needed to get trillions of AP to get their next trait. This keeps the numbers in check.
Can you expand on how loot will be distributed from PvP in BFA?
For loot in Battle for Azeroth, its similar to how Conquest vendors back in the day. So there's three parallel systems that work in PvP.
1. At the end of a match, you'll have a chance to get an item just like before just like the end of run M+, but its quality is proportional your rating.
2. When you win Rated PvP or complete your first BG of the day to earn Conquest. Once you earn enough Conquest, you'll unlock a piece of gear at certain breakpoints. It starts off at a LFR quality weapon, but scales up. If you invest enough time, you'll guarantee unlock the full set.
3. When you fill up a conquest bar for the week, you'll unlock a new weekly reward from a chest near the Dueler's guild based on the highest bracket you won at least 1 game in.
How long will PvP seasons last in BFA?
Probably longer than Legion as they'd like to match and parallel the other systems. They tried to fit two PvP seasons in a single raid tier and this didn't work as the first season's gear felt super weak and the second set of gear was more powerful than Mythic raid gear.
There's also a post-Legion season coming out to test the system.
