Vile Essence drops from mobs in the Elite zone: Hexwächter, Abscheuliche Knochenwache, Übler Peiniger, Abscheulicher Bahnbrecher, Wurmbändiger, and Seelenfresser der Blutfratzen.

Do not farm Vile Essence solo. Create a group, or join Vile Essence farming groups in the Group Finder.

If you're having trouble killing mobs, pick up the Schickt sie heim quest from the Dirty Deeps questline. This quest gives you Shadras Geschenk, an extra ability that grants the Wechselwirkende Kraft buff. This buff gives you increased damage and periodic healing.

The highest density of mobs is typically right outside the entrance to the Maisara Caverns dungeon. Patrol around the area first to pull as many mobs as quickly as possible.
