Death's Rising Week 2 Questline
Week 2 questline starts in the Argent Tournament Grounds.
Investigating the Cultists
Week 2 starts with the quest
A New Foothold
, where we meet with Crusader Renn at the Ironwall Rampart, the forward camp we set at the end of Week 1.
In Ironwall Rampart, we're asked to grab clothes to blend with the Cult of the Damned cultists in
and rescue Argent Hippogryph riders from Aldur'thar in
Fighting for Attention
We're then sent to investigate while disguised in Mord'rethar in
Secrets in Shadows
. As we enter Mord'rethar, a Forsworn can be seen, and we approach them pretending to be a cultist. The Forsworn, Herald Dalora, mentions the Maw and the chains of the Banished One being broken.
Herald Dalora: His power rising... his chains broken. The remaking has begun!
Herald Dalora: The hour draws near when the Banished One shall reclaim what is his.
Herald Dalora: Death comes for the soul of this world.
Herald Dalora: Make ready! Feed the lives of the unworthy to the hungering Maw!
With the knowledge of these unsettling news, we then set to sabotage Mord'rethar in
Bursting the Bubble
, to buy as much time as we can.
Dalora's dialogue about the Jailer parallels the encounter description for Argus the Unmaker, the final fight of
. This is noteworthy as we've frequently heard about a
"Pantheon of Death"
residing in Shadowlands which has fun parallels to the Titan Pantheon of Azeroth.
Bound. Broken. Eons of existence, knowing only pain. A shattered soul, fueling infinite evil. The master beckons. Rise... Rise! Begin the end of all things.
In addition, several of Argus' abilities like
Grasp of the Unmaker
originally were named "Death Titan" and some of his loot like
Kette des Zerrütters
has similarities to Dalora's dialogue. Could there be parallels between Argus and the Jailer?
The Forsworn Herald
We then return to report the news to Crusader Renn, who asks us to locate Herald Dalora and destroy scourge forces surrounding Icecrown Citadel in
A Message From Above
. Dalora can be found near the Cathedral of Darkness in Corp'rethar, complete with some threats towards us. We then use the Argent Gryphon we're hiding in to clear the Scourge forces surrounding the Citadel.
Herald Dalora: Ah, another defiant soul.
Herald Dalora: In time, you too will serve the Banished One.
Herald Dalora: Death will be the only power that remains!
Herald Dalora: You show promise... like the others.
Herald Dalora: Yes. You will make a fitting prize.
Crusader Renn then concludes Herald Dalora is the reason the Scourge are so agitated, and thus sends us back to the Cathedral of Darkness to defeat her in
Only Shadows Remain
. Maybe with her defeat, the Scourge might quiet again.
Herald Dalora: Fate is upon you, mortal.
Herald Dalora: The darkness comes...
Herald Dalora: You cannot... stop... his victory...
With the completion of this quest, more Death's Rising World Quests are unlocked, this time in Ironwall Rampart. We're also requested to set a portal from the Argent Tournament Grounds to Stormwind or Orgrimmar in
