Clarifications on Darkmoon Faire Profession Skillups

Blizzard has clarified how the Darkmoon Faire profession skillup quests now work in BFA. Instead of giving you +5 skillups at any point, you can only earn +5 skillups for the base (classic) level of a profession.
Previously, many players used Darkmoon Faire profession skillups to assist with those last few points, getting these points from quests instead of having to craft items requiring expensive reagents. Now, the profession quests will only work on the base/classic profession range. So you will not be able to use Darkmoon Faire profession quests to further your Kul Tiras / Zandalar profession bar.
Blizzard has noted they are looking into further changes for these quests in a future patch.

Hey folks!
As Dalbozz has stated, these quests currently only increase the base or "Vanilla" level of a profession, up to a skill of 300. For more information please see the relevant support article that we created for this question.

Common Problems
I completed the Darkmoon Faire Skinning quest and I was not given the +5 skill mentioned in the reward.
Only got skill up to 300 from Darkmoon Faire.
With the profession changes in patch 8.0.1, Darkmoon Faire profession quests will only increase the base level of a profession up to a skill of 300. While this is an intended change we are looking to improve this experience in a future patch. If you have feedback regarding this change please submit a suggestion.
