For our October PvP Q&A with Method, Ziqo and Xaryu are answering some common questions about the state of PvP in early Battle for Azeroth.
These questions were suggested by Wowhead's PvP guide coordinator Dderserei, but we'd love to hear your questions in the comments to use in future monthly Q&As with Method.

What sort of an impact do you think the removal of stat templates has had on PvP?
Ziqo:
I think stat templates being removed is a very welcome change, it opens up PvP gear to use in PvE and vice versa. It gives me more reason to enjoy all content and having a character progression is very important to me in an MMO. It also allows for creative builds and unique character customisation.
Xaryu:
Stat templates being removed allows for more customization and control in the players hands. For example if Shamans are normally bad perhaps stacking an absurd amount of mastery might make them strong at a certain aspect to make them more viable. Having this control over how we want to play the game is everything to an MMO player.
As the expansion moves on, what sort of changes would you like to see in terms of class balance, gearing, etc.?
Xaryu:
The main thing I want to see with class balance are buffs to weaker classes instead of just nerfing strong classes. Nerfing the ‘op’ or ‘fotm’ classes over and over and over results in a boring end result, however, buffing the weaker classes results in everyone feeling strong as an end result. In terms of gearing I would love a guaranteed method of gear acquisition i.e. pvp vendors.
Ziqo:
I would like to see quite a lot of changes in general, nerfs to the strongest healers (Rsham &Disc) and buffs to weak classes such as DK, Warlocks, WW. They are reworking some off these so there is a lot of work already heading in a good direction. I want to see some spec revamps too like Arcane Mage, Holy Priest and other specs that really haven't had a chance to shine yet.
How do you feel about azerite traits in PvP?
Ziqo:
I think the concept of Azerite gear is nice, but the execution has been pretty poor. Blizzard are already going to make it easier to obtain Azerite which is nice. But there seems to still be a lot of work that needs to be done. The traits could be a lot more interesting, having multiple traits for the same spell is also not ideal (for example the two Arcane missiles trait where one is just straight up always better). Trait stacking is still an issue. What I would like to see: more trait diversity, buff traits but make them not stack. Add more Azerite gear pieces (Hands, legs?) And revamp some of these frankly lame traits like the banners that increase your team's HP. No one is going to pick that over a damage trait for a core ability. Defensive traits are also going to be a problem once the masses unlock them. It already is the case in competitive play.
Xaryu:
Azerite traits in PvP actually help customization and unique playstyles - I love the idea - however, since the gear acquisition is so randomized and difficult currently its not having the desired effect. Having more finite timelines on acquiring Azerite gear would help combat this.
