7.3 Spoilers: Analyzing Antorus, the Burning Throne Dialogue
PTR

In the last 7.3 PTR build,
we datamined
the new dialogue text from the patch, including hints as to the end of Patch 7.3. In this post, we've highlighted dialogue relevant to the upcoming dungeon,
Der Sitz des Triumvirats
, and the upcoming raid,
Antorus, der Brennende Thron
, to better explain the 7.3 narrative. We've published some of these in
our previous post
, but we've also highlighted some new dialogue pieces and fused together the Dungeon Journal descriptions, abilities, and models.
Do note this is all based on early 7.3 PTR datamining, and may be subject to change
--plus playing through all the content on the PTR, as it opens, will add much more context to these quotes. We have tried to group dialogue clusters correctly together but there may be inaccuracies due to the messy nature and sheer size of the raw data.
If you want to find out more, make sure to check out the
Encounter Journal
for the current information on the Argus fights.
The Crown of the Triumvirate
Before we can challenge Antorus, Velen asks us to find a relic to give us an edge in the fight. This relic, called the Crown of the Triumvirate, looks to be split into three parts:
The Eye of Prophecy - Currently held by Prophet Velen
The Sigil of Conservation - Unwanted by Archimonde and behind a series of Trials in a Conservatory.
The Crest of Knowledge - Kil'Jaeden threw the relic into "the temple" with the Naaru in what appears to be a flashback. This temple appears to now be the upcoming dungeon "Seat of the Triumvirate" and inhabited by Void creatures.
Eye of Prophecy
Prophet Velen
: I have given our plight much thought. As it currently stands, we will be destroyed if we challenge Antorus.
Prophet Velen
: There is one hope, one treasure that may give us the edge we need.
Prophet Velen
: We called it the Crown of the Triumvirate.
Prophet Velen
: A lifetime ago, my brothers and I crafted a relic designed to bring prosperity to all.
The beacon hums with energy.
Return to the entrance. Return to the entrance.
Prophet Velen
: I still possess a third of the whole. I carry it with me always. This is the Eye of Prophecy.
Prophet Velen
: The remaining fragments may still be here, on Argus. We must go to Mac'Aree where my brothers and I once ruled.
Prophet Velen
: Mac'Aree... this is all that is left.
Sigil of Conservation
Vigilant Quoram
: Conservatory resources are not available to one of your... status.
Archmage Ymera
: Of all people to become Gatekeeper... $n, perhaps you had better do the talking.
Vigilant Quoram
: The Sigil is the Conservatory's highest honor. Only Archimonde's chosen may pursue this accolade.
Vigilant Quoram
: I am obligated to inform you that the master created trials specifically for this purpose.
Vigilant Quoram
: I am also required to allow the uninitiated to participate.
Quoram and I have... a history. Let it suffice to say that I did not depart the Conservatory on the best terms.
<Y'mera handles the Sigil warily.>I feel very exposed, holding such a relic.
Vigilant Quoram
: I have devised a modification on a previous trial. Should you be equal to the challenge, you may once again prove your cunning.
Vigilant Quoram
: Hmph. I was certain you would not complete the trial this time. I must, per the rules, acknowledge your success. Congratulations.
Archmage Ymera
: Panthara are feasting on Conservatory spirits. Bring me samples of their scales. Perhaps I can devise a deterrent.
Archmage Ymera
: Fascinating! Their scales are covered in mana-sensitive particulate. I am certain we can find a use for this knowledge.
Vigilant Quoram
: You are overdue for remedial lessons. Report to the Hall of Enlightenment for an exam.
Vigilant Quoram
: I will allow you to retain your credentials. For now.
Archmage Ymera
: There are many unanswered questions about the spirits lingering in this place. Why do they stay? What makes them rebuff our presence? Perhaps studying their essences will yield an answer.
Archmage Ymera
: I will not waste this opportunity to learn from my former peers. Thank you for your help.
Prophet Velen
: Archimonde was disdainful of the Sigil's limitations. Without the rest of the Crown, it gave him little power. And power was all he ever craved.
Prophet Velen
: This disdain is what allowed us to recover the Sigil. Had he anticipated its value to us, he most certainly would have destroyed it.
Prophet Velen
: I do wonder what he hoped to prove with his trials. Was the Sigil itself the test, perhaps? Such a disappointment it might be, to most.
Prophet Velen
: We are one step closer to unlocking the Vindicaar's true potential. All that remains is the Crest of Knowledge. Then the Crown will once more be whole.
The Crest of Knowledge
Prophet Velen:
Make haste, my friends. Something dark and terrible stirs... and it is not Talgath.
Kil'Jaeden:
Worthless. The Crest alone is powerless.
Kil'Jaeden:
This relic's time has passed. Throw it in the temple with the naaru. Let them rot together.
High Exarch Turalyon
: At least we know where it is.
Prophet Velen:
It is hidden in the Seat of the Triumvirate, then. I sense only darkness within.
Prophet Velen:
If the Crest of Knowledge truly rests within the temple... we stand against the Void itself.
Prophet Velen:
Your arrival is timely. We must find the Crest of Knowledge before Talgath takes it beyond our reach.
Prophet Velen:
This is your end. If there is a shred of goodness left in you, you will help us find the Crest of Knowledge.
Prophet Velen:
We have no time to celebrate our victory over Talgath. L'ura's dark song echoes in my mind.
Prophet Velen:
You have faced perils rivaling any the Legion has wrought. Please, do me the honor of placing the Crest.
Prophet Velen:
The Crown is whole once more!
Prophet Velen:
Now we take the fight to the Burning Throne itself. Ready yourselves. Antorus awaits!
Eonar Encounter
Eonar
is currently listed as the 4th raid boss encounter in the upcoming raid. However, players will be defending Eonar from the Legion as they try to destroy her Essence.
The forces of the Legion will warp in and charge at Eonar's Essence and attempt to destroy her outright. Players must defend Eonar until she can gather her energies and strike back at her attackers.
A Paraxis, which is speculated to be a Legion ship, will warp in and aid the Legion's assult on Eonar's spirit. Players will have to deal with the Paraxis' abilities such as
Teuflischer Regen
and
Speer der Verdammnis
until Eonar has gained enough energy to end the encounter.
For more information, check out the
Eonar section
of the Dungeon Journal.
Eonar Dialogue
Magni Bronzebeard
: The Life-Binder! Somehow, she's the key to Sargeras's plan.
Magni Bronzebeard
: We must find her soul. I just don't know how.
Magni Bronzebeard
: This soul fragment calls ta me again, but somethin's different this time. It ain't Argus speakin'. It's... another.
High Exarch Turalyon
: Our forces are prepared to assault the Burning Throne, but we cannot move until we find Eonar's spirit.
High Exarch Turalyon
: So be it. We will do all we can to ensure Eonar does not fall like the others.
High Exarch Turalyon
: I only hope we are not too late.
Eonar Raid Dialogue
Magni Bronzebeard
: It's Eonar, the Life-Binder! This portal leads ta her sanctuary. Go. I'll stay here and cover yer backs!
The Paraxis warps in. Prepare to defend Eonar!
Essence of Eonar
: Welcome, mortals, to my sanctuary.
Essence of Eonar
: Champions, hear me. The Legion has breached my sanctuary, and my defenses will soon be overrun. Stand with me now, lest Sargeras claim his prize.
Essence of Eonar
: For countless ages my spirit has lingered here, safe from the Dark Titan's grasp. But he has found me at last, and comes to claim my power.
Essence of Eonar
: The tormented cries of the Pantheon ring out from deep within the core of Argus.
Essence of Eonar
: Release them, champions, or your struggle will be for naught.
Essence of Eonar
: I implore you, stand with me. Together we can drive back this onslaught and deprive Sargeras of victory.
Essence of Eonar
: Time grows short. The enemy closes in. Approach me and stand ready, my children. The final battle is at hand.
Essence of Eonar
: If Sargeras breaks them as he did Aggramar, no power in this universe will stop him.
Essence of Eonar
: My resistance wanes. Should Sargeras prevail, all life will fall to darkness.
Essence of Eonar
: I remember the awakening... how life sprang forth all around us.
Essence of Eonar
: I remember unity... until it was shattered by betrayal.
Essence of Eonar
: I remember fleeing... to keep him from his prize.
Essence of Eonar
: The time for hiding is over. Aid me... or everything ends.
The Coven of the Shivarra Encounter
The
Coven of Shivarra
are currently listed as the 9th boss in the Antorus raid. They are listed as 3 (4 on Mythic) Shivarra that were used to torture and brainwash the Titans.
Shivarra Priestesses, tasked with torturing and brainwashing the souls of the mighty Titans, assault the raid together from within their temple, deep within the core of Argus
Noura, Mother of Flames
Asara, Mother of Night
Diima, Mother of Gloom
Thu'raya, Mother of the Cosmos (Mythic Only)
Each Shivarra will use their own element (Frost, Fire, Shadow) in addition to the Torment of the Titans to try to defeat the players:
Pein von Aman'thul
,
Pein von Golganneth
,
Pein von Khaz'goroth
and
Pein von Norgannon
. Each of these Titans use their own ability during the fight:
Aman'thuls Machenschaften
Wut von Golganneth
Flammen von Khaz'goroth
Norgannons spektrales Heer
Aman'thul
Golganneth
Khaz'goroth
Norgannon
Coven of the Shivarra
Diima
: I am the chill running down your spine.
Noura
: I can't wait to hear your flesh sizzle.
Asara
: You cannot escape the shadows.
Asara
: Your corpses will be frozen in eternal agony.
Noura
: Burned and blackened.
Asara
: There is no light that can pierce my shadow.
Magni Bronzebeard
: Khaz'goroth's will is bein' twisted. He can't control his flame!
Magni Bronzebeard
: They're tearin' Norgannon's mind ta pieces!
Magni Bronzebeard
: Golganneth... he's lost in a storm o' agony!
Magni Bronzebeard
: They're usin' Aman'thul's mastery o' time against ye!
Varimathras Encounter
Varimathras
is currently listed as the 8th boss in the Antorus raid. Those who were around during Wrath of the Lich King will remember Varimathras from the fan favorite quest,
Die Schlacht um Unterstadt
. Now, we find him locked away in a cell and tormented for eternity by the Coven of the Shivarra. During the encounter, the Shivarra like to banter and are entertained by the action.
To torture Varimathras, the Coven uses different elements to inflict pain and suffering which the raid is going to have to deal with:
Pein der Flammen
,
Pein des Frosts
,
Pein der Teufelsmagie
,
Pein der Schatten
. However, Varimathras still puts up a fight, and you'll never want to be
Allein in der Dunkelheit
with him nearby.
Varimathras - Shivarra Dialogue
Varimathras
: Aaaarggh! Witches! You call that torment? I have endured far worse!
Noura
: I tire of that worm's babbling! Let me scorch the flesh from his miserable bones!
Asara
: Ignore him, sister! Focus on your duty. These souls are nearly ready to join Aggramar in the master's service.
Diima
: Look! The wretch struggles against the mortal intruders.
Diima
: Then watch the icy grip of despair drain his will!
Diima
: We cannot allow this wretch to savor victory.
Noura
: Pathetic! Let them all burn!
Noura
: The prisoner weakens. He is close to surrender.
Noura
: The mortals falter!
Asara
: Perhaps the nathrezim has grown too familiar with the torment of flames, my sisters.
Asara
: Lack of faith is his undoing. The fel will consume the unworthy.
Asara
: Enough of this. Let the shadows claim them all.
Varimathras Dialogue
Alliance:
Varimathras
: So, your Alliance still endures. Longer than I expected, though she has already planted the seeds of its downfall. She is patient, that one.
Varimathras
: When your thrones run red with betrayal... when your holy places burn and the shattered mask hangs above your hearth... only then you will know. And it will be too late.
Varimathras
: It matters not. You are blind to the true darkness closing in around you.
Horde:
Varimathras
: So, she found me at last. Sent her underlings to finish the job.
Varimathras
: Tell me, when she seized your throne of hides and bones, was your allegiance forced? No... I'd wager you surrendered it willingly... or were convinced you did.
Varimathras
: It matters not. You are blind to the darkness in your midst.
-----
Varimathras
: Better that you died here, where she cannot claim you.
Varimathras
: Death... claims... us all.
Varimathras
: Come, then. We will trade pain for pain!
Aggramar Encounter
Aggramar
is listed as the 10th boss in the Antorus raid. Aggramar was corrupted by the Legion and now it's the players job to free him from his torment.
Players will have to deal with Aggramar's
Taeshalachtechnik
, and alternate between sharing the brunt of his attacks and letting the tank eat a large
Willensbrecher
. Aggramar also is equipped with a
Verderbte Aegis
, a corrupted version of the Aegis of Aggramar which will recovered from earlier in the expansion.
After Aggramar Encounter
Illidan Stormrage
: The titan soul of Argus is the key to breaking the Legion. Our defenses must hold long enough to destroy it... or Sargeras wins.
Prophet Velen
: Perhaps this world's past can aid us. I will scour my memory for what may yet remain.
Magni Bronzebeard
: Ye did it! Aggramar's essence is free! He can stand beside his brethren once more.
Prophet Velen
: The very cradle of creation!
Magni Bronzebeard
: The titans can sever that connection... but not here. They need ta bring the soul o' Argus ta their place o' power... the Seat o' the Pantheon.
Illidan Stormrage
: Our victories mean nothing. So long as Sargeras has the soul of Argus to fuel his infinite army, Azeroth remains in grave peril.
Magni Bronzebeard
: Their final act will harness the last o' Argus's power, to imprison Sargeras... once and for all.
Magni Bronzebeard
: Heroes, I can signal the titans ta begin. Once they start their ritual... there's no turnin back!
Argus, the Unmaker
This encounter is the 11th boss fight in the Antorus raid and... the Dungeon Journal is currently empty for this encounter. However, from the dialogue after the Aggramar encounter, it appears that it's going to involve taking the soul of Argus to the Seat of the Pantheon and the titans completing a ritual.
Heart of Antorus
Prophet Velen
: This may be the one place in the universe sacred to the Legion. Demons would pluck out their eyes sooner than gaze upon it.
Illidan Stormrage
: Who could ever imagine such a sacrifice?
Illidan Stormrage
: The heart of Antorus lies before us. The power behind the Legion's infinite army.
Magni Bronzebeard
: So much agony here... so many voices. It's... it's nearly overwhelmin'! But I can feel Eonar urgin' us forward.
Prophet Velen
: At long last, the end is upon us. Press on, my friends.
After the Encounter
:
Magni Bronzebeard
: The tortured soul of Argus has been put to rest.
Illidan Stormrage
: It matters not. We have lost. Look to the skies!
Prophet Velen
: Sargeras will soon undo all we have fought for.
Voice of Amanthul
: No.
Voice of Amanthul
: We will use the last glimmer of Argus's power to bind him here. The Seat of the Pantheon shall become Sargeras's prison... and ours as well.
Prophet Velen
: You would condemn yourselves to stop him?
Illidan Stormrage
: Our world must survive... no matter the cost!
Voice of Amanthul
: A sacrifice must be made.
Voice of Amanthul
: Return home, children of Azeroth. Protect the final titan.
High Exarch Turalyon
: Prophet... what happened out there?
Prophet Velen
: Illidan serves as the Dark Titan's jailer. His sacrifice has ended the Legion. At long last, the Burning Crusade...is over.
