Einfach nur wunderbar ist ja, daß in jedem Run so circa die Hälfte der ohnehin nur 8 oder 10 Mobs, einfach mal GAR NICHTS droppen!

Verscheißern kann ich mich alleine, echt!!!

They are mined from dark iron deposits and they have a drop rate of about 0.5%. Theyre used for rep with the Thorium Brotherhood, and for various Thorium Brotherhood recipes. Its also used for the enchanting recipe Smoking Heart of the Mountain.
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=11811

They occasionally drop from molten giants and molten destroyers in MC.

Kommentar von 268846

The drop rate from Molten Destroyers isn't accurate, as they have a chance to drop nothing at all which goes unrecorded by Wowhead and skews the percentage.

Kommentar von 329396

Either I'm the unluckiest person in WoW, or these have an insanely low drop rate from mining dark iron ore. I've leveled several miners over the last 2+ years of playing, and only gotten one Blood of the Mountain from several hundred of nodes tapped.

Anyone else have the same experience?

Kommentar von Chaoslux

After reading the comments here that says they are incredibly rare, i guess i have to be lucky since i turned in over 20 blood for my thorium rep, and just because i wouldnt buy any blood higher than 20g.

Kommentar von Smokingwolf

just got 3 of em in one mc run

Kommentar von 389355

anyone know if it can be prospected from thorium or dark iron ore ?

Kommentar von 44345

That 8% drop rate is indeed inaccurate.
I've done nearly 50+ soft resets trying to get mats for Sulfuron Hammer with not a single drop.
The few I've obtained, I've obtained them through AH and 1 out of maybe 100+ Dark Iron Veins.

Kommentar von zemmix

Just to add for those thinking about selling them, they go for a lot more than the 25G listed here. Start at 1000g and work your way down. I've found they don't last that long on the ah though.

Kommentar von 467494

What's the best way to farm these? Bring a miner? Visit MC, kill destroyers, wait a day and come back to kill them?

Because I really don't want to have to buy these...

Kommentar von zarathorn

I may be just getting lucky, but while soloing my way through MC trash (Crap geared DK, can't kill bosses) I got two from dark iron veins and one as a drop in one day. Perhaps the drop rate has been increased for some unknown reason. Anyone else noticing this?

Kommentar von 481254

If you really want to farm this, kill the destroyers in MC, log out for 30 mins or so, then they will respawn. You're guaranteed at least 4 destroyers (near Garr) but the other groups of 2 can sometimes have 1 destroyer 1 giant

Good luck farming!

Kommentar von Keiser

Since I resubbed my account, I have been soloing all of MC, mining every Dark Iron deposit and killing every Molten Destroyer. In this time (approximately 3 months) I have gotten 9 Ingots, an Eye of Sulfuras, all of the other mats, except only one Blood of the Mountain (from a Dark Iron deposit). I already had 3 on my bank alt from pre-TBC.

Honestly, you're better off just spamming in trade chat and making an offer for people to check their bank alts. I offered 100g a piece and got the remaining 6 in < an hour, and this was on an extremely low pop server.

Kommentar von 254850

Theese are currently listed for 1k gold on AH on my server.

It´s worth noting that the trash in MC respawn after a soft reset so the Molten Destroyers are solo farmable for tanks. Atleast I had no problem pulling upto 8 mobs at a time on my alt protpala.

It takes roughly 15-20 mins. to kill all the Molten Destroyers and run back out, i got a drop on every other run, so I found it way faster to farm MC trash than to try and mine it.

Kommentar von 634775

I recently got an eye of sulfuras, and would highly recommend taking a miner to MC and just killing the gehennas-garr trash, taking ores with you and looting the destroyers. In three runs (about 15 minutes each) I got a total of 6 blood of the mountain, 4 from looting, 2 from ores.

Kommentar von brzyd4l

So I went out on a "small" farming tour.
I've put together in one raid my protection warrior, blood protection death knight and a protection paladin.
I made few runs with them, one after another (as You will see, the time between 1st and 2nd run on one char is enough to reset the instance / let the trash respawn).
My warrior went into unsaved Molten Core instance.
My death knight went into Golemagg killed Molten Core instance (boss went down day before).
My paladin went into Golemagg killed Molten Core instance (boss went down day before).

Each run took me from 20min to 30mins (my paladins gear is average ilvl 232). Plus about 10mins afk between every run (just some random afk, nothing planned).
In each run I was killing only giants / destroyers (I'm still not sure about soft reseting a mob if it's not dead) plus some random pulled mobs (fire elementals are not cool on a week geared paladin - 15sec silence).

1st warrior run. 8 destroyers, 14 giants, 4 ore nodes. 1 blood of the mountain (from ore node).
1st death knight run. 9 destroyers, 13 giants. 1 blood of the mountain.
1st paladin run. 9 destroyers, 13 giants. No blood of the mountain.

2nd warrior run. 10 destroyers, 12 giants, 5 ore nodes. No blood of the mountain.
2nd death knight run. 9 destroyers, 13 giants. 2 blood of the mountain.
2nd paladin run. 8 destroyers, 14 giants. No blood of the mountain.

Then I got a bit frustrated with my paladin clear duration (35min including a silly death). Waited about 15-20mins while doing some mining on my warrior for Arcane Crystals and went in with my death knight again.

3rd death knight run. 9 destroyers, 13 giants. 1 blood of the mountain.

Some mining on my warrior for Arcane Crystals.

4th death knight run. 8 destroyers, 14 giants. No blood of the mountain.

Conclusion:
If you want to farm blood of the mountain, get either a good geared retribution paladin or a blood protection / dps death knight (never played a druid so no clue about this class "timer"). Warriors are cool, but either a good geared protection warrior (slower timer couse of lower dps) or a very good geared fury warrior. You still get some damage on Yourself, in my example Bloodthirst wasnt able to keep the "healing" enough to prevent eating down-time (tho you can always use Enraged Regeneration).

I can confirm, that soft reseting / respawned trash works for the blood of the mountain drop from destroyers. Also, dark iron ore nodes do respawn (but I'm not 100% sure about this, wasnt paying attention for their spawning points - maybe I missed the ones from 2nd run on 1st run on my warrior).

Good luck to all of You who are farming them.

I have been farming these for a lot of time now.

i did like 15 runs in a cleared MC with no blood at all.

Now after reset i'm trying to farm it in a non cleared MC.

2 runs so far, still no luck, and still need 10...

Kommentar von Shogol

Yup rng sucks... sometimes. I expected this to never drop, killed 8 destroyers (most spawned were giants) and got 2, so not angry at rng :)

Not sure why, but the price for those little shinies are going up like a rocket.
Just had 0 of those at the AH, putted mine for 650g being assured only a desperate person would buy it for such a ridiculous amount.
It sold in like 2 hours, and now there are 5 at the AH, the cheapest one for 450g, some for 700+
Data is from US - Mannoroth.

Kommentar von Dyros

I'm currently trying to forge the hammer for an alt. I have everything except the Ingots and these, which go for about 1000 a piece on my server. Sorry, but I'm not that crazy: I've farmed about 3 so far, between 5 characters. So far the Ingots are giving me a problem, as they don't want to drop...

Kommentar von Vath

These are so expensive because:

1. They are rare (quite a bit more rare than "rare" quality items from MC, despite being simply "uncommon").

2. People are going back to MC since it is easily 2-manned by any class combination, if not solo-able by most, making for an easy legendary, depending on drop luck.

Back in BC when I started playing WoW, I couldn't sell these for 1g on the AH. How times I have changed, I wish I would've have just banked the 50 or so I mined up in the course of leveling JC and making dark iron bars D=

Kommentar von 488106

Not sure if I've been "lucky" or if there's been a buff to the droprate from Molten Destroyers.
Started farming these yesterday and already got 6, got 1 each 2 runs or so.

Kommentar von remotettl

still drops from destroyers and they respawn even if u havent killed ragnaros!
in deposits - way to low chance get it. best way to farm ores, if u need bars - go brd and take highway (5 spots there) and kill dudes, mechanicals, after elemental boss near dark anvil (circle with elemental boss). they drop ores, but not blood of mountain.
mc still drops it. made 5 runs, got 3. :(

Kommentar von Sunius

This wednesday Eye of Sulfuras dropped for my priest. I've been farming Molten Core for about 6 months for reputation and it finally dropped, so I decided to finish the legendary. I've made a list of things I would need for Sulfuron Hammer. I bought everything from the AH, except 1 sulfuron ingot (had 7 from my past runs of MC), and 9 blood of the mountains (had 1 as well). So basically I started farming the bloods on 4 of my chars: 80 frost mage, 80 blood DK, 80 elemental shaman and my 85 shadow priest. What I would do is enter the instance on all of them, by inviting anyone and making it a raid group. After I was inside, the other guy could leave and I wouldn't get teleported out. Trash respawn timer is 30 minutes when NOBODY is in the instance (aka Soft reset). So I would log 1 char, write down the time when I logged out (you don't get teleported out when you log out), and log another char to continue the farm. Here are average run times:

Priest: I did most runs on him, since I didn't farm it in 1 session. Did a total of 8 runs, every run took an average of 7 minutes.
DK: This char had tanking spec (because at start I tried going with dps spec, but I had to eat between pulls), and dps gear of around ICC 25 normal. Did a total of 6 runs, each run took an average of 8 minutes.
Mage: ICC 10 geared, frost spec. Did 6 runs, one run took an average of 8 minutes.
Shaman: ICC 10 healer geared (so had little crit). Did 4 runs on him, with an average of 12 minutes each.

Did total 24 runs, an average of 7.3 minutes per run. Each clear had from 6 (if really unlucky) to 10 (really lucky, had it only once) molten destroyers. In those runs also got 23 Fiery Cores and 27 Lava cores from loot, and many t1 belts/bracers I Auction Housed.

Few notes to remember: Make sure to write down when you log in/enter the molten core with your character; if you log in earlier than 30 minutes after leaving/logging out, the soft reset timer WILL reset, and you will have to wait for another 30 minutes. Also, make sure that you don't soft reset molten core more than 5 times per hour, or you will hit the 'You entered too many instances' thing and you will get automatically Hearthstoned upon logging on (no warning, no casting time).

Happy farming!

Kommentar von 760891

Just hit MC for the first time. Landed one of these. Checked the AH and found none there. appraiser was listing it at an insane amount IMO. Figured I would throw it up for that much anyways....

Came here and read this now I see I was about to sell it for dirt cheap compared to above mentioned prices. Just pulled the item from AH and put it back up fro 3k. Will see what happens.

Kommentar von 134895

i have yet to have any of these drop from the molten Destroyers but 3 from Dark iron ore. so im saying Dark iron ore is better to farm than the mobs

Kommentar von Gonkz

I've been farming molten core every week for about 2/3 months (once a week), that makes about 10 runs killing all bosses and molten giants + destroyers, and i have never seen 1 blood of the mountain drop.. and I already have 5 ingots!

Kommentar von 748974

The above methods for farming this stuff are pretty good. I do not have multiple toons I can put in there, but have gone in about four times this morning on my DK. If the instance is cleared ahead of time, there is substantially less trash to deal with, and I was able to just walk past everything to get to my destroyers. However, this does seem to kill the possibility of having ore respawn.

Very easy. Park your toon in there, log in, kill the 6-9 destroyers that spawn in the first hall, log out. So far today I have three Bloods.

Also, I'm no economist, but I expect demand for this item and Sulfuron Ingot to increase in the near future. With the Guild Legendary Achieve, the fact that Sulfuras is one of the easier Legendary items to farm, and the huge health pools of players (which means nearly anybody can solo MC these days), I predict a lot more people are going to be going after the hammer and needing this.

Kommentar von razoraki

Well i got Eye of Sulfuras on my 2nd run in MC on my hunter (lol)... and now ill try get mats just for Achiev.
Wish me luck :)

Kommentar von 59545

So im terribly unlucky with getting this drop or they changed it? ive ran MC about 8 times now and not gotten ONE Blood of the mountain. Does anyone know did they possibly take them off the Molten Destoyers?
*edit*
took 12 runs.... but one final did drop....

Kommentar von 831779

Cleared MC several times (~20) and got 10 Blood of the Mountain. 8 from Destroyers, 2 from Dark Iron (got 343 ore in total).

Kommentar von 336631

If you're going for this, you DO NOT want to kill any bosses. The Blood only drops from the Destroyers, which stop appearing after Garr.

While the drop chance is low, at level 85 you can run past most of the trash, and as an Unholy Death Knight in pure blue heroic dungeon gear it took me 5-10 minutes every run. As long as you just kill the Destroyers and reset whenever leaving the instance, you'll be able to collect a lot of Blood in a couple of runs. Do note that you'll probably hit the number-of-dungeons-per-hour cap if you're not going to be mining on the way.

Personally I found mining to take much, much longer than killing the Destroyers, and the chance for a drop is also much lower from the deposits(do keep in mind you'll need Dark Iron for the mace, though)

Kommentar von Chodman

Your wrong! Destroyers soft reset after about an hour, no matter how many bosses are down.
I clear 2 bosses and all Destroyers then log an alt for some dailies, then relog after an hour or so, toon will be standing back at the start of Molten Core, rinse, repeat. (Not bosses obviously)

Looted 1 Blood of the Mountain around every 4-5 runs, good luck happy farming.

Kommentar von 12703

To farm this, simply DO NOT kill any bosses. As long as you haven't downed any bosses, you can reset the instance from the portrait menu which will respawn the Destroyers and the Dark Iron nodes.
Once you kill a boss though, you'll have to wait 30 minutes between runs as resetting your instances will no longer work and you'll have to wait for a soft reset.

Kommentar von 838009

Go to BRD, there are about 4 nodes in the dungeon. Just reset once you finish digging and go in again. Like when you farm death charger.

Kommentar von Reixes

I lucked out and had the eye drop from Rag, but I'm still at about 8 bloods and 6 ingots at the moment. I've been going back into MC after killing Rag every now and then to kill destroyers, but I have yet to see any more nodes for Dark Iron to reappear.

Kommentar von Vath

They may have snuck a higher droprate in there, or maybe you guys are just getting lucky. I guess time will tell in the next few weeks. Shouldn't really be a green item if they haven't changed it. It's a little bit harder to come by than simply "uncommon" xD.

Kommentar von 308516

I farmed for these today to make my Sulfuras. Using the soft reset method, I obtained 10 Blood of the Mountains in 11 runs (approximately 5.5 hours of farming). Pretty bad considering how available they used to be on the AH, but not as bad as the comments here would lead me to believe, especially the comments claiming it took months and months to farm these.

Kommentar von 839043

I have been farming these today with 4 different characters. Killing destroyers, logging out, same for the next toons. This is with the half hour intervals. After 3 runs with 3 toons brought in my 4th as well, did a total of 12 runs, got 6 blood of the mountain and can no longer enter on any character even though my 4th only ran it once. Not sure if this will reset or not at this time, but something to keep in mind.

Kommentar von 98911

I do believe they slightly increased the droprate of these, I usually do 3-4 runs a days and I have so far gotten 1 per day. Eventhough they pop up on AH more regularly than they did before, they go for 1.5k-2k Gold. (Darkmoon Faire RP(EU))

Kommentar von 873737

I just looted one from a Molten Destroyer. I suppose I'll save it for the hammer, in case I ever manage to get it for myself, although they do sell for a pretty penny.

Kommentar von NickNoe

Today i did a little farming for Blood of the mountain because i'm bored as hell. i got 3 Blood of the mountain in a total of 6 runs. not bad at all considering comments are saying it takes months and months to farm haha :)

Good luck and happy farming to all.

Kommentar von Etamalgren

Did a quick farming run of the molten destroyers. Got 4 bloods of the mountains in 5 resets.

It certainly helps speed things up being a druid/rogue to skip killing trash.

Kommentar von 69115

I recently farmed 9 Blood of the Mountain. My results are as follows:

I did 3 full clears of Molten Core (killing all trash and mining all ore). The first 2 clears each yielded one Blood, third clear had nothing.

Then I did soft reset trash clears.

#1 0 blood
#2 1 blood
#3-6 0 blood
#7 1 blood
#8-10 0 blood
#11 1 blood
#12 0 blood
#13 1 blood
#14-15 0 blood
#16 1 blood
#17-27 0 blood
#28 1 blood
#29 1 blood

That averaged out to about 24% chance per trash clear to get one blood. Sample size for full clears is too small to get even a rough number.

I also cleared dark iron deposits Blackrock Depths. I did 9 clears and none yielded any blood.

If you can find cheap Blood of the Mountain on the auction house, snag it up.

Kommentar von 575036

I insist that while Running for rag . To kill instead of skipping mobs . That way you might aswell get the mats before getting the eye> Happy running :)

Kommentar von Taraezor

Confirm just now I got one from Dark Iron Ore whilst on a farming run (thanks to Brewfest) in Blackrock Depths. In the Hall of Crafting but location wouldn't matter. I've mined enough for three whole stacks of smelted ore (over a period of time) so whatever the percentage calculation it is pretty rare for me at least. Considering I am farming these for the legendary hammer, I had never considered one would drop here and MC would be the only place.

Kommentar von 886442

Not sure if this was a bug or what but I was farming bloods today and one dropped from a molten giant. This has never happened before and I have made several hammer. When I saw the drop I had to do a double take and said wait.... what? Anyone else out there have this occur?

Kommentar von 817503

Best way i have found to "farm" for Blut des Berges is to park your toon that you will use for the farming just inside of MC and log out of the character for 30 mins. After 30 mins of no characters in your MC lockout the Molten Destroyers will respawn and you can kill them again. This will work even after rag is down and it will work if you just leave the raid for the 30 min duration.

Warning the timer will reset on the respawn if you log in too soon.

Kommentar von vic6string

I can confirm that the Molten Core Destroyers do respawn after 30 minutes of logged out time, even after Rag is killed. The Dark Iron Ores, however, are tied to another boss (Magmadar), and they will not respawn once that boss is killed. Two things to note:

1) Once you have downed Rag, you can't re-enter Molten Core to farm. You need to stay in the instance and just log out, then log in after 30 minutes or more. Also, remember that if you die (no reason for an 85 to die, but there are some brave souls trying this at lower levels) you must be in a raid group to re-enter. Once you are in the instance, it is ok to drop out of the raid group.

2) It doesn't matter where you log out, you will always be ported to the beginning of the instance. Pay attention when you log back in, as it would be easy to run out of the instance by mistake if you just start running once you log in.

The drop rate is still crazy low! I have done this at least 20-25 times, and this is with a miner getting all Dark Iron Ore nodes and killing all destroyers and have only 14 Bloods to show for it.

Kommentar von propyro

Please do correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the drop locations for this have changed. I can't find anything under Molten Destroyers that would indicate that they drop this on WoW head. I've also killed quite a few and haven't found any. I've gotten lava cores and Fiery cores, which is helpful, but no blood of the mountains.

Dark Iron is being pretty finicky as well since I just found out that if you do a full clear of MC the ore doesn't respawn.

:edit:
I stand corrected, I just got a Fiery core and blood of the mountain off the same Molten Destroyer about 3 minutes ago.

Kommentar von 728354

i saw some guy buying it on trade chat so i decided to farm, killed 4 destroyers and the last one dropped it.

i consider myself kinda lucky rofl

Kommentar von Raevsusar

Just started farming some Destroyers in MC, and I gained 2 the first run. I went in without defeating any bosses, so I then went out to reset and started it all again. Got 1 the 2nd run aswell so... Idk about this, but it might seem like if the droprate has been increased just a little? What do you think?

Kommentar von 714274

I got the Eye back in Wrath and when I returned for Cata, our guild decided to dedicate a lot of their time gathering the mats for this so we could get the guild achievement. We would do weekly guild runs with teams of two for full clear, to get the Ingots, and then would use our alts to soft reset for the Bloods. We had all the mats in a couple of weeks, plus enough for the guild leader to get hers too, minus 1 or 2 Blood. The Bloods were the most painful to get honestly.

The upside for all those runs? Excellent Transmog gear!

Kommentar von 858973

I managed to found out that if you are even already saved, the mobs respawn in around a hour or so,however after 15 tries (in 3 days) not even 1 blood of mountain dropped. I'm also not sure if that works everywhere, works in Sylvanas EU.

Kommentar von Noctemus

Today dropped from one Veil of Dark Iron. Guess i was lucky but the fact is that still drops (although is a low drop).

Kommentar von 527860

Quick facts:

Clearing MC will cause all nodes to stop spawning/respawning.
Killed giants and nodes can be refreshed by zoning out and resetting so long as you do NOT kill any bosses.
The drop rate is ridiculously low, both from giants and nodes. Kill everything but bosses, mine everything you see, then run out and reset.
There are 4-5 nodes in BRD. They have the same chance to drop BotM as those in MC.
You're going to be spending a lot of time in these places if you're farming for, say, a Sulfuronhammer. Take breaks.

Good Luck!

Kommentar von 978077

From my experience farming on my warrior:
Molten Destroyers are by far a more reliable source of bloods than Dark Iron ore nodes.
Entering the raid then clearing the pairs of Giants up until Garr's chamber then leaving and killing some time (I did Archaeology) while waiting for respawns got me more bloods towards Sulfuras than mining almost node in the zone that I came across.
Estimated totals, multiple runs across multiple characters, around 2 from mining and 13 from giants.

After clearing Molten Core on 3 different characters, I decided to go back inside each instance and farm Molten Giants, and Destroyers for Blood of the Mountain's.

Not only did the Dark Iron Mines not respawn, but after 9 runs (3 on each character) nothing has dropped on any of the respawned Giants and Destroyers. My advice to anyone needing some of these is to just buy them on the AH if the price is less than 1,000k gold. Otherwise the time it takes to actually farm these might far exceed the value.

After running Molten Core for 3 months straight on 3 different characters, I have a grand total of 6 Blood of the Mountain's.

Kommentar von 998311

I got one of these from a vein and went to the auction to see what it would go for, found one posted at 900g so i posted for 890g. Someone bought the 900's and i know the person that bought my 890 was looking for more Blut des Berges and were asking for it at about that price.

Then later on in the night there were several others looking for Blut des Berges. for quite a while in trade chat on Drak'thul realm, to no avail.

seems demand is higher than supply for this rare find.

Kommentar von lundbergaj

I've just started farming MC now that I've noticed it's soloable. I guess a lot of you have been unlucky with Blood of the Mountain drops. I typically see 1 Blood of the Mountain each run, and I've had one run where 4 dropped. I get an Ingot about every other run, but no legendary drops yet.

Kommentar von Chiba

I can confirm that these still drop from Dark Iron Ore veins in patch 5.0.4

Here's a little fact that i dont see people posting at all on here, once magmadar is killed, all corehounds stop respawning, once garr is killed, all the things that look like him stop respawning, once baron gheddon is killed, all those fire elementals stop respawning. So if you clear MC up to golemag and then wait for respawns, you will be able to get more destroyer kills.

so pretty much, once you kill a boss, all the creatures in MC that look like them will stop respawning. I am NOT saying that they will despawn when you kill them, they just wont simply respawn. So if you are going in and waiting for respawns, killing a few bosses might help make killing the respawns of the molten giants a lot easier. (especially those damn core hounds. they still have an annoyingly large aggro radius).

Not true. I just ran MC after clearing it completely yesterday, and all of the trash was back up. So you can basically, clear it, wait a while (not sure of exact respawn time) and go kill them some more. Rinse/repeat until reset day.

Just as a time judgement, I cleared it late around 10pm, got up at 7am and the trash was back up. So the respawn is at least that and most likely shorter

Don't farm this from the Brandwachenzerstörer, I figured I would clear the MC of the Geschmolzener Zerstörers then run BRD hoping to see if the Brandwachenzerstörer would drop Blut des Berges but after about 10 runs threw both I had 4 Blut des Berges majority dropping from Geschmolzener Zerstörer I only found 1 in a Dunkeleisenvorkommen

My point being don't waste time trying to farm Blut des Berges in BRD, stick to MC there is alot more Dunkeleisenvorkommen located inside and the Geschmolzener Zerstörer is where you'll find most of them anyways.

Just to state. I ran this about 2 hours ago to clear the Molten Giants again, came and all had respawned. Looks like the respawn timer on these is about 2ish hours.

Kommentar von 849833

i've done MC 3 times and gotten 5 bloods, just go back there every 2 hours and kill the respawnsed destroyers, piece of cake...

Kommentar von 1124537

I got my Blood of the Mountain in Blackrock Depths on my Warlock

Kommentar von 915719

Dropped it from fireguard destroyer in Blackrock Depths. I think I am the only one who dropped that from this mob.

Kommentar von 278810

Got my first blood on 5th run through MC. You can speed up the runs by not killing any bosses. Then after the last molten destroyer is dead (next to garr), just run out.You can then reset the raid and all the trash is back. Due to the ease of farming this place you can easily do 5 runs in under 30 min.

Kommentar von Thrope

SAAAAAVE THESE!

They look like all the other old reagent "trash" in MC. They're not. I have no idea how many I vendored in my ignorance.

Sulfuras is an old legendary, but tons of people are still running this all the time. Now I'm one of those people. Now I feel the loss of all those bloods I vendored. For crying out loud, I have more sulfuron ingots than I do blood of the mountain! Multiple toons, weekly, plus going back for a few respawns...

Even if you don't care about the legendary, this sells for a hefty price on any AH. Demand is incredibly high. It is anything BUT vendor trash. If only a few newbs like me see these words and heed them, at least I haven't wasted my time.

Kommentar von 1417952

tip: instead of waiting for 30 min leave and right click on your character portrait and and click reset all instances and now all the molten destroyers respawn if you havent killed any bosses

Kommentar von 1433480

Must be my lucky day.

First time in, with a lvl 100 Fury Warrior and Eye of Sulfuras dropped for me on Ragnaros. Bring on the legendary!

Kommentar von 853994

I've tested now farming every 30 minutes for almost a week with different chars.

From my experience, toons with enchanting abiliy statistically get a whole bunch more bloods than others (~ 300%).
Lowest or even no drops have been with alchimists and herbalists.
There seems to be a dependency to professions for me.

Kommentar von lowtuned

So after running MC about 7 times i finally got my first one. Then the next run i got 3. The moral of this comment is.. i dont know. The drop rate on these are %^&*ed.

Kommentar von 853994

If you're bored from farming bloods and you get none, leave Gehennas or Shiraz alive!
(Can't exactly say which one because I killed both, but I guess it is Gehennas!)

Just like Magmadar and respawn of ore deposits, there will no more drops of bloods, if they've been killed.
Neither from deposits, nor from the destroyers.

Just tested it with 8 chars, each about 20 runs.
Zero bloods....

Kommentar von 1440756

Run this about 10 times with about 4 diff chars, only time I have one drop was from a dark iron vein on my miner.

The best way to farm Blut des Berges is to enter Molten Core, kill ONLY the Geschmolzener Zerstörers (they are the only ones that drop them) or any other trash if needed, but do NOT kill any bosses.

When you get to Garr and have killed the Molten Destroyers in the area, turn around, head back out, "reset all instances", and go again.
RNG but easily done this way quite fast if you are farming for Sulfuras, Hand von Ragnaros or whatever reason.

Happy hunting and good luck. :)

Kommentar von 1390423

If it hasn't been mentioned before, I suggest having a "naked" set saved to your outfits. After killing the Destroyers around Garr, you can follow the path towards Baron Geddon (there's a lava pool on the right.) Switch to your naked set and dive in! When you die (without durability loss), the release puts you RIGHT at the entrance! No ghost walk. I farm Dark Ore as well so with ore farming, it takes me about 5 minutes to do a run, strip, die, and appear back at the entrance. No need to walk back! There's occasionally a Dark Ore spawn on that path towards to Geddon as well, so if you're farming those, there's another incentive to walk towards that pool.

Kommentar von freebird33

i went in looking for them and i got some from mining the dark iron

Kommentar von 1572191

As per today with my warrior for about 3 hours I successfuly got 11 Blut des Berges in 12 runs / I just wipe the trash, dig the dark iron deposits, go out and reset/.
7 pcs drop from Geschmolzener Zerstörer and 4 from mining

Kommentar von 742047

How in demand are these? Seeing them go for about 500g on my server. What are ppl using them for?

Patch 7.2.5

Warrior with 3 times heroic leap, and 2 charges.
You can farm the molten destroyers and reset the instance when you done, i have this toon with mining(and these reset aswell).

Just make sure you don't kill the bosses, i run in farm the dark iron ore deposits and the destroyers and run out.
Put on some nice music and happy hunting for 1 hour or so, you will have a few bloods(i have had 2 drop in 1 run).

Has a great day <3

Kommentar von Tofke

2 hours of Trash farming and mining Dark Iron to end up with just 1 Blood of the Mountain.
Either I have the worst luck as of yet... or the 7.3 stealth changes to loot in old instances has broke another thing.

Kommentar von davidgoeb

Here's my suggestion for farming Blood of the Mountain. It worked for me.

Go in with an upper level alt that can mine, clear all the trash and mine all the Dark Iron Ore nodes, but leave the bosses untouched. Once you get to the back of the main area near Garr, jump into the lava and let yourself die, which transports you back to the front of the instance. Walk out, reset the instance and start again. The drop rate is extremely low, but I managed to get one after 5 trash clears. That may not always be the case, but at least you can continue to reset the instance, farm or and mats in the meantime.

It will boil down to how much time you want to spend.

Kommentar von tankbug

These are the worst. I must have done 30+ full runs, and I have yet to get a single one. I think I'll just spend 15k on the AH for them, and spend a lot less time making that up for that gold through daily bonuses or something.

Kommentar von lunamoonraker

With any item that has a low drop rate individual experience is bound to differ from the lucky streaky to the very unlucky etc.

Based on the drop rate of 8% provided here from a 610,630 sample size, it means an approximate 90% probability for a drop from 4 trash clears (with an average of 7 Geschmolzener Zerstörer per clear, the numbers vary per respawn). With RNG there will be swings either way as can be seen from comments here. Over time it should even out.

To give some idea from my recent experience as an update, I am on 7 drops from 144 kills, around 20 trash clears which is 5%, actually more in line with the drop rate from the NPC page though it is a smaller sample size.

If your focus is to farm for the Blut des Berges then do mine the Dunkeleisenvorkommen on the clear. Although it is a lot lower drop rate, 0.8% from the page, they do occasionally drop and any extra one is welcome. Also, it helps to time the clear and reset timing for each hour. Just do not kill any bosses as the nodes will not respawn. You can mine just up to Garr which is around 15 potential nodes, maybe 5-7 will spawn each time. Or continue through the instance then reset, depends on reset limit timing and speed of clearing you want.

Kommentar von Lunisen

Just ran Molten Core twice, killing every trash mob and mining every deposit and got 0 :(
I might be unlucky tbh

Kommentar von Themyscira

I just got one by mining a Dark Iron node in the dungeon.

Kommentar von Gaffa

Molten Giants in MC were my go to for these in years past. I'd average 1 to 2 per full clear. I've just done 5 MC runs and have had zip from the giants, so something has changed.

So far I have found ONE only, and that was from mining all Dark Iron nodes in MC.

If you're farming for these make sure you're going through MC with a miner.
