The Path of Ascension holds glory and honor, but we must balance it with acts of humility. Medallions of Service are proof of such service, and are used to challenge the Path.

These medallions can be earned by fulfilling your duty to Bastion. The best ways to gather them are by participating in callings, treasure hunting, and taking care of rare enemies. Of course, if you are in need of more, you can always donate materials through Dactylis to earn medallions.

Choose a Soulbind. You can only pick Soulbinds that you have bonded with at the Forge of Souls. Once you choose a Soulbind, you will immediately gain control over them and have a vehicle UI with their abilities. While in this stage, you can freely switch between Soulbinds if you change your mind.

Choose a boss and difficulty. You can select from encounters that are available to you by interacting with the Soul Mirror. During this stage you can change the boss and difficulty at any time if you change your mind.

Choose your equipment. Any equipment you have unlocked can be managed by talking to Paolone. Select which equipment you want your Soulbind to equip and it will immediately become active as one of buttons on your vehicle UI. You are free to test this ability and change out equipment during this stage.

Test your abilities on the training dummies. if you want to get comfortable with your Soulbind's abilities, you can test them freely on the training dummies located on the platform. Use this to get an idea of what all the abilities do BEFORE you fight the boss.

In order to unlock Mikanikos you only need to defeat Athanos.
It is NOT needed to have Mikanikos unlocked for Soulbinding.
I don't know if this is a bug or intended and I'm currently weeks away from unlocking Mikanikos' Soulbinding.
I wasn't able to find a use for Mikanikos and Bronn in the Path of Ascension yet, though I actually like the tag-team playstyle.

This system looks complex and fairly deep, and normally I'd be fine with deterministic rewards (doesn't look like there's any RNG here) but the idea of having to max it out on every armour class plus extras to get every weapon is... oof

Question! So it says you can donate materials to Dactylis to get Medallions of Service. How do you do that? All I can see is a crafting menu. Cuz I am bad at this vehicle combat stuff and need all the chances I can get. Wish this was just with my character. Hate vehicle combat soooo much.

You can get Elysische Federn and Pelz des Champions from Larionvater down at Aspirant's Rest where you have a Teleport if unlocked.

They should honestly just remove the need to "pay" to enter this mode. I've ran out of medallions and the only way to get new ones is just pure luck or a needlessly annoying farm. Like seriously I'm expected to farm 8x8x8x8 of the RARE materials for ONE SINGLE medallion (the farm takes like 1h per medallion counting traveltime). That is BONKERS!

Unlocked at Path of Ascension Tier 1 building:
- Kalisthene 1 and 2
- Echthra 1 and 2
- Alderyn & Myn'ir 1 and 2
- Nuuminuuru 1 and 2
- Craven Corinth 1 (2 is locked)
- Splinterbark Nightmare 1 (2 is locked)

Unlocked at Path of Ascension Tier 2 building:
- Thran'tiok 1 (2 is locked)
- Mad Mortimer 1 (2 is locked)
- Athanos 1 (2 is locked)
- Azaruux 1 (2 is locked)

Completed all bosses with Pelagos, here's a few tips:

- Kalisanthe you can force chains to be dropped on 2 sides of you, making you not move, other than that just keep up immunity as much as possible and use 4 when you have immunity. Use the root to fill the gaps between your immunity powerups.

- Echthra just keep your distance from spider summons, you can root them or ignore them. Again the immunity shield is your best friend.

- The duo Alderyn & Myn'ir you can try to use the pillars to line of sight the ranged boss, so you're only fighting one of them and don't have to care about the arrow barages. Immunity powerup is the safest but you could also take the cooldown reduction to speed it up if you manage to line of sight the ranged boss.

- Nuuminuuru it takes 1 barrage and 1 root to quickly kill exploding fairies. Fairies also spawn in fixed patterns so you leave 1 location up to stack to 3 mobs and then use 2 roots on them to kill them without wasting a barrage. Immunity powerup is always the best.

- Craven Corinth cycle between rooting him and the immunity powerup, use blink boots to catch up with him when he goes to snack on his anima source. *IMPORTANT* when Craven Corinth goes to the middle to do his patterns you should try to get close to him so you can dance the patterns properly, you cannot line of sight them.

- Splinterbark Nightmare is probably the hardest of them all, even on stage 1. He has 3 mechanics, the important ones to know is the ground objects he throws around. Black swirlies spawn lingering spikes that stun you for 5 seconds if you touch them, Green swirlies spawn flowers that grant you 10% damage taken reduction for 10 seconds (iirc) which stacks up to 10. It is very important to get to 10 stacks to counter his second mechanic: Enrage.
So basically: Avoid black swirlies, stack green swirlies (don't worry much about your damage in this phase), nuke while you have green damage reduction at 7 or more stacks (but don't let them fall off).

- Athanos the key is to get yourself knocked into the pillars or root him (Pelagos) when he's about to punch or charge you. If he's about to punch then root and run out of melee range, if he's charging you then root him and stay out of melee range. However it's safer to get yourself knocked into the pillars, blink boots can be used as an emergency if you get knocked past pillar.

- Mad Mortimer is really simple, just nuke down and try to hit root (Pelagos) on more than 1 of them at a time. Immunity shield works really well, best item in my opinion Spiritforged Aegis for some additional shield (and reflect damage) or Herald's Footpads so you can blink out of annoying situations. But again, really, really simple fight.

- Thran'tiok is also very simple, Deep Echo Trident can be used to interrupt the Death Bolt mechanic but it's not needed. I found Pelagos' cooldown reduction ability (middle powerup) to be most useful.

- Azaruux can be annoying as he forces you to move a lot, avoid being hit by any void zone mechanic and he will go down. For Pelagos any of the powerups will be useful, if you're comfortable with moving around or rooting then the movement speed increase or ability cooldown powerups is useful. Best item used is the absorb or boots.

I just wanted to confirms that when you unlock Provostenpostbeutel (Mailbax service), its cooldown is 1 hour. You can eventually unlock it with Rank 1 Path of Ascension.

Update: I also wanted to confirm that Bauplan: Vergoldeter Abakus (Bank service) also has a 1 hour cooldown. You can eventually unlock it with Rank 2 Path of Ascension.

Is this entire area currently bugged for anyone else?

It seems all the boss mechanics now go through the pillars with line of sight not affecting at all

I did all the bosses before and used line of sight often to avoid mechs but since last weeks reset this has changed - mechs (Arrows, chains etc) now phase through the walls as if theres nothing there

Anyone else have this issue?

Is there a real source that Eternal Phalynx of Humility is from path of ascension? It doesn't fit the patterns of how mount rewards are working, the same pattern that other covenents have too

This strategy guide helps a little, but not much. Herald's footgear is pretty crap if it has a 30 sec cd...

What you want to do (this is for the very first fight, with Kalisthene):

Lock her where you can with Bindungen des Aspiranten, then stand away and channel Glaubensprüfung

Use Erinnerungen konfrontieren when you can and select the one with the barrier (will show a barrier on the memory).

Just keep running away from her and the chains, stay out of the circles that the chains are trying to drag you into. Periodically, you will have two chains on you and she will fly up and give you a third one then start to do her barrage. This is when you finally want to use Fußpolster des Herolds to break out of the chains so you can run from the barrage. So as soon as she puts 3 chains on you, use the footpads and break free so you can run.

What you also want to do, when she's chasing you, is to use the very wide aoe Entfesseln

If u don't see the weekly quest after the rank 2 upgrade, try to relog (it worked for me at least). Also, you cannot see it on the big map, u can see it in the mini-map, and if u go close ofc. It gave me the Pfad des Aufstiegs: Nuuminuuru

The Bronze Dual-Bladed Glaive is NOT available from the PoA from any vendor. Is it possible to obtain from winning any match from the win chest? Cuz Otherwise I see it coming from only EC or QC. If it is obtainable from PoA where is it from and if it is proven then my DH doesn't have to touch all 4 of these covenant mini games then. Sorry completionism is a pita this expansion.

Has anyone managed to succeed with Mikanikos&Bron against any boss? Just got the weekly for the duo and despite the fact that I like the mechanics they seem just worther than the other two choices. So far I haven't found a strategy to defeat any of the bosses with M&B .

It's kinda fun having your own Brawler's Arena. I enjoyed it through Rank 4.
It's stupid there's an entrance fee. Marks should just help pay for materials/charms.

It's incredibly stupid that you work your ass off to do something barely tested crap like Meister des Pfades and Jünger der Demut just for the privilege of buying those transmogs for a ton of anima. Thanks.

Ty for the guide. i just switched from NF to Kyrian so i'm at 34 renown. My question : how do you 'boost' Pelagos ? i get all the charms etc etc but what is the impact of the renown level ? because i'm losing really badly against Kalisthene whatever i do even by following the strat guides etc. TY in advance !

Path of Ascension is awful to play with weak soulbinds, and having to pay to get to play it. Too frustrating to be worth the effort and a major reason for my dislike of Kyrians.

Does anyone know if your Soulbinds get any stronger as you win battles with them? I've noticed with Pelagos, who I've used most, has a couple of 5% buffs on him and I don't really know where they came from. The battles get quite a bit tougher as you progress and without the Soulbinds leveling up somehow I can't imagine completing the top levels without "Cheezing" them.

I just got the "It's how you wear it" achievement, and as a mage, I am not able to purchase the doubt tinged greatstaff. This seems like a bug, because the appearance shows up for me in the appearances window (albeit uncollected, but that implies I should, could be able to get this appearance). Very disappointing as this was the entire reason I was going for this achievement.

Just unlocking is a clue to the pain involved. Traveling all over the different zones, back and forth. Then you have to maintain a stock of mats from farming mobs in various spread out locations across shadowlands. You have to unlock the bosses you are going to fight and then go and capture them. You have to craft equipment and other items to progress the events. You even have to pay to enter the encounters. But by far the worst aspect is that you dont fight as your beloved character.

I always hate it when you are forced to play as some other character, giant or machine with 3 to 5 buttons and this whole PoA system is based on that idea.

If anyone else is missing Nuuminuuru or any of the other fights. I had an issue where changing covenants cause me to abandon the path of ascension quest lines then forgot about the quest. It's in Ardenweald's Glitterfall Basin and doesn't appear on your map. Check if you've completed the quest with

This is probably the worst thing they have ever added to this game. Vehicle combat is not fun. We all know this. Blizzard knows this, yet they add this covenant game which focuses on that. It's full of bugs where some fights are really really hard. You have to farm materials to make items to make it easier but if you die then the items you crafted are wasted. The worst part is, if you finally get it done and do all the achievements so you can buy the transmogs etc. ITS NOT ACCOUNT WIDE - meaning you will have to do the WHOLE thing again, including achievements if you want the other transmogs for other armor classes. This is such a waste of time and I'm lost for worlds how they think this covenant feature is a good thing. They did add 20% increased damage recently but they didn't do much good as the fights are bugged. Your abilties can bug which make the fights even harder. This is why people are using 'exploits' to do these fights. I would prefer they added an option to do this fight using your character (not in a vehicle). This would solve a lot of the problems as you can completely avoid the vehicle bugs and dps it down yourself.

You need to do 4/9 of the Kyrian Campaign Chapters to unlock Mikanikos for Path of Ascension, even if you have his soulbind unlocked.

Path of Ascension:
Compared to before the Dragonflight pre-patch, the health of all bosses is now too high.
For example, Craven Corinth (Humility) more than doubled from 110k -> 259k. This means that it is impossible to clear within the time limit.
Does anyone have this problem?
I hope this issue will be hotfixed ASAP.

At 70 you dumpster all the fights with any soulbind easily.

Now free to enter. Still a vehicle combat but super easy to kill at level 70. You can get most of the crafting reagents with the Medallion of Service from the innkeeper close to the scenario starter. The soul mirror shards can easily be farmed at the Eternal Forge in north Bastion.

To complete the first quest, hit the npc and jump off the platform and it will mark as completed.
