May be silly question, but are you sicking your pet on greys or mobs you're getting exp for too?

Hmmm, I'd expect it to be somewhat slow, he only gains a percentage of what you get for exp. So greens won't produce results too quickly. Though, at your level I wouldn't expect it to take all too long. If you get to 18 it should auto-level to 13 as pets cannot be more than 5 levels below their master I think. If it stays 12 it might be a bugged pet and may need to just tame another.

Yeah. . . I am not sure how it is 12 with you at 18, but I will let that go for now. That can only be a bug, and I would open a ticket.

The problem I think you might be experiencing is that pets do not--to the best of my knowledge--benifit from the XP in bgs that came about with this most recent patch.

This is a huge problem for hunters who want to level and do 25% or more of the leveling through bgs. It should not, however, be a problem for you.

You seem to imply that you dont want to level--that, in fact, you want to "twink" stay 19 and bg there?

Then go to SW or Org and turn off XP on your toon.

Then you can fight yellow/orange/red mobs and your pet will gain XP (at least according to GC) while you will remain safe.

If you change your mind, you can always reactivate XP.

You'll have to kill quite a few XP-giving mobs to level your pet.

So, I may turn experience off and see if the pet gains experience if I take a shot at the NPC. Not sure, but I don't think the pet will level. Just a hunch. It would be nice if I had a pet my level though. 18 when 18 and 19 when 19.

I have a 29 priest twink. I use www.twinkinfo.com as my main sorce of info. Supposedly, GC said that pets would continue to gain XP if their master turned it off, until they reached the same level as the hunter--especially so twinks could benefit from the new pets: serpent and whatever.

So it *should* work. I have not yet heard of anyone testing it.
