Info about Midnight Season 1: Catalyst Unbound which allow to earn additional charges after building 4 set on character.

Got that achievement and so far:
0 charges from 3 bountiful delves with key, 1 w/o.
0 charges from M0(expected).
2 charges from PVP, played 2v2 rated. Got them for each 5 first wins(5 win = 1, 10 win = 2).
As for now: after 22 wins in 2v2 didn't received any additional ones, blitz win didn't gave anything either.

Maybe it's capped as 2 for now, I'm scared to use them, so that all info I have for now. Hope this helps someone.

UPDATE 26.03:
Got 3rd one from 4th boss during hc+normal raid clears. Nothing so far from keys.

i had one catalyst charge drop from Tier 10 bountiful delve today, was on 4th delve and all with keys.
i dont know if tier has anything to do with the drop chances but i just happened to be running 10s.

Confirmed drop after reaching 4p once on your character (its uncapped u just cant hold more then 8 at once and its RNG af):

Raid bosses - looks like diff doesnt matter (some of our raiders got 4+ from 12 bosses yesterday) - i got only 1 :/
M+ - looks like doesnt matter how high key
Delves bountiful with key - dont know if tier affecting drop chance but iam running only T8+
PvP - Arenas (probably Bgs too)

Pretty sure theres way more stuff to do to get the spare catalyst charges but these listed here are probably the most common.

If you are dumb like me and wondering why you only have 1 charge of the manaflux, after finishing the achievement for a second, one of the charges has to be opened from an item in your inventory. Crystallized Dawnlight Manaflux

As of today, the drop rate seems bugged for many players. I've done about 20 m+, 3 raid bosses and 8 delves and I haven't seen one yet.

Drop rate of those after getting achievement is absolutely terrible. I have so many things to catalyst and currency refuses to drop...

Have gotten 3 total extra charges so far. All from normal mode raiding. Have done tons of Prey, M+, and Delves - and none have dropped for me from those. The randomness of these is absurd. I wish there was a bar to fill doing activities to get a charge.

I can confirm that it does drop from Bountiful Delves.
I got it from a Tier 11 Bountiful and it was inside the bountiful chest.
PS. of course you need to have the 4 -piece unlocked first.

Sofar i got 5 in m+ keys 12 and above.
I made 5x tier already and i still have 2 charges left and 6 more to get this season from 2 weekly charge.

The drop rate of this is simply outrageous. RNG is the most disgusting system, something Blizzard should completely remove from the game. It's a manifestation of how little they care for your time investment.

Hi gamers one question started 2 days ago and now i have 2-8 of these things, so i wanna know can i catch up tot 8-8 or i have to wait every 2 weeks for one? untill im at the season capp I know pvp rating 1600 gives one and heroic raid but are there any other things i not know of to get me to the season cap 8-8 thanks in advance!

It seems like I'm no longer getting these on a bi-weekly cadence since getting the 4pc? Thats rather annoying since I haven't gotten one in 2 weeks of 8 keys...

EDIT: Much of what was discussed below no longer appears be relevant, at least for me. Originally there seemed to be a hidden cap on the extra manaflux drops from delves/raids/M+. All of my toons were seeing lots of extras drop, but once each toon got to 8x total manafluxes from both the bi-weekly ones and extra drops combined, they stopped dropping completely. I went from seeing lots of them drop, to seeing NO drops even after 75+ delves/keys. But upon the 2026-05-12 reset/bi-weekly manaflux, that seems to have changed. I am now seeing them drop semi-frequently again, not that I really need them anymore. So if there was a cap, it either went up or has gone away. Or it was a bug and has been fixed. Not sure why some others are still seeing inconsistent drop rates, as mine have pretty much returned to normal across multiple characters. Maybe it's timegated based on when you get the 4pc. No idea.

Has anyone else noticed a change in the drop rate recently?

I got the 4pc bonus on 5 different characters about 4 weeks ago. Immediately after I was getting these from delves and M+ pretty generously. Usually at least one extra Manaflux every 5 delves/keys, pretty consistently on all of my characters.

Yet this past week I don't think I've seen a single one despite doing roughly 25 keys and 10 bountiful delves (with coffer keys) across all my characters. Wonder if the original drop rate was higher than they intended, and they lowered it in 12.0.5. That or I was just really lucky early on, and am now just getting really unlucky.

I think maybe there's a weekly/seasonal cap, like crests, but hidden. Or it's just bugged. Once all of my toons had/used 8x manaflux from both bi-weekly and drops combined, I stopped getting them. I've probably done 40-50+ keys and 20+ bountiful delves since, but no more have a dropped. Yet a newer alt was still seeing them drop frequently from keys/delves, until they too got up to 8x. Now nothing. Someone in another comment said they didn't even get the bi-weekly one last week, indicating even those ones might be affected by a hidden cap.
Problem is I used 1-2x fluxes on Champ gear to get 4pc ASAP on most toons, so I still need 1-2 more (or lucky GV) to get 8pc 6/6 Hero. I hope this coming Tuesday I still get the free one. If there is a hidden cap, hopefully it goes up as the season goes on. Otherwise, I'll regret following the common advice to use fluxes on Vet/Champ gear to get 4pc ASAP if it just meant reaching the hidden cap sooner, now preventing me from completing 8/8 Hero.

Today (2026-05-12) we should've received the 5th free bi-weekly Dawnlight Manaflux, and ALL of my characters did.
I do still believe there is some sort of code or logic that affects the 4pc bonus drop rate once you've received 8x combined between the bi-weekly and drops. It either stops them from dropping completely, or reduces it to such a low drop rate that I have not seen a single additional one in 75+ keys/delves. I saw this consistently across multiple characters, even when they reached 8x in different weeks. But after what I saw today you should still continue receiving the normal bi-weekly ones.
I still think this whole setup is sort of stupid. If you worked to get 4pc ASAP then it punishes you in the long-term. You'll likely fall short of completing 8pc Hero/Myth unless you got lucky with the GV, and then you have to wait anyways to get the bi-weekly ones to finish, making the whole thing somewhat futile. It's like racing to the finish line but then having to stop and wait to finish anyways.
Perhaps if they told us it would work like this from the start, people wouldn't have wasted their first manafluxes on Vet/Champ gear just to get 4pc ASAP. Or it might make sense if there was a 6pc set bonus as well, so we'd at least have some benefit after 4pc but while waiting for more bi-weekly manafluxes to finish 8pc.
Either way, I'm glad the bi-weekly ones are still coming in. No idea what we'd do if we were stuck at 6/7pc Hero/Myth and couldn't get any more.
I also wonder if now that the bi-weekly has gone up again, the hidden cap on drops will go up too, but it may be a few days until I do any content and find out.

EDIT3 (2026-05-13):
Today I ran 5x keys, my first content since the reset yesterday, and I finally got another Dawnlight Manaflux drop in a +12. This was on my main, the character I first hit 8x manafluxes on and then immediately stopped getting them from drops. It's also the character I've done the most keys/delves on since they stopped dropping. Probably 25x keys and 4x delves. So I can only assume that the hidden cap on dropped manafluxes also went up when we got the new bi-weekly one on Tuesday. OR, there is no hidden cap, just an extremely low drop rate after getting 8x, and I've finally managed to get a single one via RNG. Not sure which. Guess if I see more drop in the coming days, then it probably means the cap went up. If not, then there is no hidden cap, just super low drop rate after your first 8x, and I finally got lucky. Unfortunately this is the character I don't even need them on, but at least it's still reassuring for my other alts that are close to finishing 8pc Hero/Myth.

EDIT4 (2026-05-14):
The next day I got another manaflux on the same character. So 2x manaflux in 8 keys since the reset. This is basically the original drop rate I was seeing them at when I first got 4pc. I have to assume something changed since the reset this week, whether there was a hidden cap that has now gone up, or perhaps there was a bug and they fixed it.
I suppose it could still be just a super low drop rate past your first 8x, and I just got REALLY lucky this week, but that seems unlikely.
At this point I am going to stop posting results and speculating. Even if the drop rate hasn't changed, in two weeks when we get the next bi-weekly one, all of my characters will have recouped the ones I wasted on Champ gear.
This was interesting to track, but also frustrating. I'd really be curious to know what was really going on behind the scenes.

EDIT5 (2025-05-20):
I said I wouldn't update again, but this will be quick. Since last week's patch and new bi-weekly manaflux, my main character (the first one I capped out on and stopped seeing them drop) has since gotten 3x more drops from M+. At this point I have to assume any hidden cap has been completely removed, or it's been raised so high that it doesn't really matter anyways. That or it was just a bug all along that has now been fixed. Either way, even if you originally spent 4x manaflux on Vet/Champ gear to get 4pc ASAP, you should now be able to recoup all of them to complete the Hero 6/6/Myth 9pc transmog. Everything posted above is probably irrelevant now, but I'll leave it up just to keep a record of how things developed.

The drop chance for charges is too inconsistent that I don't recommend you to transform low ilvl gears just for 4-piece if you'll bonus roll Myth gears in +10 keys.

Drop rate is real bad on a fresh toon atleast. Still.
So i got the 5 when i made it to 90. Used manafluxes to get 4 set with champion items in warbank. After that All LFR, normal and heroic raids, 8 bountiful delve 11's and 4 delve 11's, 8 10 keys and few odd other lower ones.
0 manaflux.

Had 4/4 set piece on my hunter. Then got a couple of upgrades, but haven't been able to convert them because I haven't had a single drop in around 7 weeks of Delves, Mythic+ or Raids. My shaman, on the other hand, has 4/4 and is sitting on 8/8 manafluxes.
