Located within the
, the Twin Peaks remains a crucial point of high ground for staging effective and debilitating attacks against the black dragonflight and the Twilight's Hammer, who dominate this foreboding environment. And now, two previous occupants of the nearby city of
vie once again for control of the peaks' defenses. The Wildhammer clan, architects and original owners of the once-great fortress city, maintains some operations in forested outposts of the highlands. The Wildhammers now call upon heroes of the Alliance to help claim the peaks and fend off the Dragonmaw orcs. The Dragonmaw clan, having spent years working to enslave red dragons, once again provides strategic importance to the Horde. As the Dragonmaw and Wildhammers fight for territory they once called home, the Alliance and Horde carry out the struggle to control the

TL;DR: Twin Peaks is gonna be AWESOME!

so thats gonna be a battleground?
I'd have hoped Blizz had learned their lesson about making unsymmetrical BGs by now. I mean, it took almost 3 years for them to finally tweak AV correctly and even then, some people still don't like it (stoopid bridge vs stoopid relief hut).
They got it right with WSG and AB and EoTS. They fixed it in AV. Strand is self correcting by alternating start/finish. The jury is still out on Isle of Conquest. Wintergrasp is Horde favored by virtue of GY placment and starting points. Hopefully this one will adopt the Strand model.
Alternatively, if they just alter that serpentine river to terminate on the west side instead of into a moat, they'll be in business. (Won't happen though if the dev team has already spent this much time draughting the landscape, textures, art, and maps).
But not to be a negative-Nelly I actually am looking forward to duking it out here. PVP gets so little Dev-luv compared to Raids. Anything new is good. And now random Q doesn't mean waiting for enough people trying to get a particular BG.
Screens added for you ;)
I hear this is a more... terrain-oriented Warsong Gulch, with awesome terrain makes dis Huntard happy!
This one seems kind of...flimsy? Doesn't sound like either is really encroaching on the other, like warsong obliterating the night elves' trees...Can't the horde have their peak and the alliance have theirs?
Ey, the human camp reminds me of hobbiton : D
imo it looks a bit like a place from halo i forgot the name of
Am I the only one who thinks this BG is so empty? I mean looking at the screenshots and some videos I've seen it's just two four buildings thrown together in a landscape with little to no change.
Any word on what level you will be able to access this BG at? I would love to have another BG during the 10-60 levels, and BfG will be level 81-85.
Hunters disengage + parachute cloak from ally base = flag instantly under horde spawn on right side.
OK did my first Twin Peaks yesterday. I liked it and it is more even in my opinion than WSG.
I won my first one so of course I would feel this way.
So If you have not been there it is a ton like WSG. There are a more open area upstairs in the hordes flag room and you can attack them from water there is a river that runs into their flag room.
It is a shorter distance from flag room to flag room and a river that has choke off points.
Me being a rouge I sprinted with flag over both water ways so that I would avoid bridges.
But All and all I give blizz 5 stars for this BG it goes buy fast and middle fighting does not hurt you as much matter a fact it can be put into your strategy defending by holding the middle.
SEE YOU ON THE BATTLE GROUND.
Fun little druid trick, you can swim from one base to the other (easier to do for the alliance) with the flag and stay at the very bottom of the riverbed. the flag will never poke out and they'll never see your name. I did this twice so far and swam right by the entire horde team and never got caught.
Also a great place to get a slice of cherry pie, and a damn fine cup of coffee.
For classes with knockbacks it is quite easy to get some free kills around about
if you punt your attackers off of the cliff. I find that a large number of Horde flag carriers run past this spot, so use it to your advantage, but don't forget the other team might have the same idea.
Sounds like ctf_2fort...
Awesome! another capture the flag battleground
Would have been awesome if Blizzard actually created something new and original for the battleground system.
Instead we got another ctf map and a watered down version of arathi basin.
Still, the map has a great feel to it and the artwork/color of it is fantastic.
Just adding a little to strategy, if you use path of frost, you exit out the horde base through the waterway, and run on the left side of the map. Fun to be sneaky when your a DK.
Who killed aura pal? ^_^
The terrain is a big disadvantage to the alliance side.
Why does blizzard keep making the maps so unsymmetrical, when they could not balance the near - symmetrical ones?
i've just played this bg,i grabbed the flag, made it back and nothing happened!W.T.F.!
can someone please say why this is?what do u need 2 do when u get the flag back?
To win this battleground very fast you must be a flag carrier and capture three flags in a row. Actually, you can use engineering
instead of parachute
to do it a little faster flying through the river. This is the best and fastest way for flag carrier without any potion / scroll / buff, using only own sprint.
Watch video, do it three times and win bg ;3
