Given that Howling Blast has a cooldown, you obviously can't use it again if this procs.

It does, however, allow for Obliterates and Death Strikes. Since you ordinarily wouldn't really use Obliterate in a Frost build, this makes the Annihilation talent actually useful for Frost DKs, rather than a point dump.

Interesting question: do if you still get runic power when you use howling blast for no runes?

Edit: Tested on target dummys in IF. no you don't (not to suprising if you think about it)

You do however get the 5 RP from Chill of the Grave, if you specced it.

Rime will be nerfed in next patch where as it will only proc when u use obliterate and not icy touch

Rime is a talent in the Death Knight's Frost talent tree. You will need to spend 28 points total in Frost to max it.

I am still using my Greataxe of the Ebon Blade in a 2H frost spec at level 64. Even when using the maximum amount of oblits in my rotation, Rime doesn't proc very often. The Freezing Fog buff should definitely last longer than 15 seconds since it isn't procced very often to begin with imo. Also, single target at this level my oblits are almost identical in average damage to my HBs. Killing machine procs are the only thing making HB better at this point, but on a single target I usually use those for FSs.

Simple Explaination *********************

Frost PVP: Top PVP players (2s, 3s, 5s even RBG) ladder (6.2.3) Don't use this set at 4/4, They prefer to max mastery Coz the set Warmongering Combatant's Desecration doesn't have mastery on chest+hand (and legs sucks with haste+mast so they prefer mastery+versatility) doing only 2/4 (head+ shoulders). The chance you will do obliterate (melee) then Aoe crowd won't surpass mastery in 2s 3s.

Unholy PVP: If you need to spam grip more might be good in RBG where DK tend to grip pull players for a fast kill (with warior and lock aid)

(Blizzard spells are very well hidden sometimes...)
