Important to note that like Death Grip, Mind Freeze is not on the global cooldown. (So it can be cast in the middle of a rotation, or cast in a single macro along with another spell, and so on.)

With Mind Freeze, Strangulate, Death Grip, and your ghoul’s gnaw limb you can easily shut down a healer or a caster. While silence and stun have diminishing returns, counters do not. So you can essentially weave in a silence, stun, or a death grip in between mind freezes and keep a healer locked down.

Mind Freeze – Counters 4 second, cooldown is 10.
Gnaw Limb – Stuns target for 3 seconds, cooldown is 30 seconds. (Ghoul Ability)
Strangulate – Silences target for 5 seconds, cooldown is 120 seconds. (without glyph)
Death Grip – Pulls the target to you, thus interrupts the cast, does not counter or silence. 35 second cooldown. (25 seconds talented.)

So you can keep someone locked down for at least 20 seconds with this rotation.
Mind Freeze (4), Gnaw Limb (3), Mind Freeze (4), Strangulate (5), Mind Freeze (4), Death Grip (0).
Depending on cast time of the spell, the reaction time of the healer, and how long you wait to interrupt the cast you can lock them down even longer. Not only that, but if you are teamed with another player you can weave your interrupts with theirs near indefinitely.

This uses the spell hit table, which means you need 17% spell hit after misery/virulence/heroic presence in order to reliably interrupt a skull level mob.

Something that might be obvious, but of note, is that due to it being in the frost school, you won't be able to use it to interrupt the casting of most water elemental mobs, as many are frost-immune.

The sound effect on this seems to have changed. You knew you were dealing Mind Freeze.

Liked it much better before, which was a sharp, icy "crack". It's now a "softer" sound, like a melted lump of snow, dropping off the roof.
