Clawing Shadows deals 75% damage in PvP
Virulent Plague deals 75% damage in PvP
Dark Arbiter's Val'kyr Strike deals 70% damage in PvP
Epidemic deals 85% damage in PvP

And from the July 27 2016 7.0.3 hotfix notes:

Epidemic now strikes a up to 20 nearby targets, and each AoE detonation strikes up to 6 nearby targets. (Work in progress.)

I really like the 黑死病 + 传染 (and Defile) playstyle for levelling. Much easier to pop a DoT on as many mobs as necessary before spamming Epidemic then using DC to spend RP. What's nice is that it almost feels like an Afflic lock where I'm not limited to melee range and can create some kiting opportunities.

As of 8.0, Epidemic consumes Runic Power, instead of mixing Rune costs with a charge system. Due to its cost, you still functionally only have up to 3 casts available to you at a time.
This will be Unholy's first means of expending Runic Power in AoE since the changes to 邪恶虫群 back in Wrath, and ties with 冰川突进 for the position of third/fourth AoE Runic Power dump (after 白骨风暴 as the second, naturally).

For those seeking to maximize the benefit for Epidemic, it is best saved for use as an AoE tool when you're striking 3 or more targets. If 枯萎凋零 is off cooldown and your targets are clumped together for cleave, prioritize the synergy of D&D with 天灾打击/暗影之爪 over Epidemic, unless your runes are on cooldown; otherwise, use freely if D&D is on cooldown or your targets are loosely spread.
("Nearby targets" tends to indicate a range of about 8 yards.)

Note that as of its initial implementation, Epidemic does not share 凋零缠绕's benefit of reducing the cooldown of 黑暗突变, nor does it have as high of a proc chance for 符文腐蚀 or the ability to cast for free from 末日突降.
