Yup, they are there allright (53,32). It took me ~30 minutes of fishing to get 12 of 'em. As a result, my fishing skill is now a stunning 137 ;) hehe.

This quest series is totaly incorect. I mean yes Gaffer Jacks lead to Electropeller but that's that. The other listed here have nothing to do with this 2 quests. It's been like this for a couple of months now. Isn't there anyone working on this site that noticed this mistake?

I found the highest concentration per cast of these on the south side of the fork in the Cliffspring river in northern Darkshore. Every where else I went the drop rate was ridiculously low.

It took me a total of 77 succesful fishing attempts to get the 12 electropellers needed. This means that for me, the drop rate was 15.58%.

I fished from the small island in the middle of Cliffspring river. It took me 72 total fishing attempts (including fails) to get 12 electropellers for a 16.67% success rate with the drop rate at something like 20% (not including fails). My fishing skill also increased by 12 (169 to 181). I had two dry spells with 18 & 19 casts inbetween electropellers. I got electropellers with my first two and last two casts and was at a 50% success rate through 8 casts before my first dry spell -- 1/1, 2/2, 3/6, 4/8, 5/26, 6/30, 7/40, 8/42, 9/61, 10/68, 11/71, 12/72.

Cliffspring River fishing the south part of the island. Drop rate 14.3% , 19:38 total time, fishing skill jumped from 71 - 102 and lotsa fish to cook, sell or eat.

I just finished this quest and if you fish at (53, 32) on the Cliffspring River it works the best. I actually fished off of the log that crosses the eastern part of the Cliffspring River and fished toward the water fall. I got all twelve Electropellers in 46 casts. (So an 26.09% drop rate. Not too bad)

Since (53, 32) is right between the northern Blackwood furbolg camp and the naga cave you could do this quest when you do The Blackwood Corrupted or
Cave Mushrooms, although the quest will probably be either green or grayed out by that time.

I got all 12 in 58 casts from the log facing Cliffspring Falls at 53,32.

Upped my fishing from 113 to 136 and even caught a Bloated Mudsnapper (he had a Moss Agate inside him) for the efforts.

All in all, it took me only 19 minutes to catch all 12 Electropellers. (Including the amount of time it took to answer the lvl 16 player who interrupted me in the middle to ask where Cliffspring Falls is. And then physically lead him up there, when he didn't understand my answer.)

This is by far the worst quest in the game hands down. Drop rate is horrific. Went from a 96 skill to 148. I would rather be forced to watch reruns of 'are u smarter than a 5th grader' while slapping a hammy in a lemon juice/acetone mixture and having my nose hairs tweezed than waste my time with this one. Reward should be a purple relic. WOW get rid of this one in the next patch. Spare urself from even attempting...

I found this quest amusing! It was fun, and I think it was made for you fishermen (or ladies) out there! I know the drop rate of this quest isn't good at all, but it really does give you a reason to increase your fishing skill and fish alone. (That's me in the sticky screenshot on my mage fishing for these). Here is a small list of facts I have about them:

Quest is in: Darkshore.
Fishing Skill Required: 35 (may be lower but that is when I got it).

You can fish for Electropellers at the following locations:

Buzzbox 323 (51.3, 24.6)
Above Kerlonian Evershade (44.4, 76.4) and Onu (43.5, 76.3), near the bridge over the small river.

You do not catch electropellers alone, or I haven't. They were always in the same loot as some other fish.

I think that the whole point of this quest is to get your skill up to 110. After I hit 110 every cast yielded an electropellor. Good luck and be patient, because that's what fishing is all about.

My fishing was at 107 when I started and it took me 12 minutes and 20 fishing skill points to get all 12 electropellers. Not too bad.. the xp for this quest is good considering all you have to do is stand on the log and cast. No threats unless you go to the south side where the Blackwoods are... nice and easy.

Did this at the Wildbend River near Grove of the Ancient in southers Darkshore. Took me about 37 minutes, getting the Electropellers 13.3% of the time *sigh*

It seems to be a 100% drop now. At least, it is in Wildbend River,near the Grove of the Ancients.

I found that at the river just north of the grove of the ancients there is 100% drop chance.
Good tip for those who wanna finish it fast and are not training fishing meanwhile anyway.

Maybe the drop rate is (much) better now, but after completing the quest The Cliffspring River, I got back off the beach, back onto the road, crossed the bridge back towards Auberdine, then immediately turned left to get to the south bank of the river. Just south of the falls where you collected the water sample (not the falls for the NE Druid quest!), there are two large granite-looking rocks (51,27). Fourteen drops made all twelve electropellers, minus two "your fish got away" drops. Can't complain! :D

Got them in ~12 minutes. About 35 casts. Fished in the cliffspring river, between the eastern and the western waterfalls, west from that huge log.

You can catch the Electropeller anywhere in the Cliffspring River, the Wildbend River or the little pond in the Grove of Ancients.

You cannot catch the Electropeller in the Master's Glaive, as the water is too shallow.

At Cliffspring River (52,30) it took me 64 casts with a skill of 485. I also fished up .

I've just done this quest 3 times in the last two weeks and it took me 60 casts, 51 casts and 48 casts.

Seems like the average is around 60ish, judging from everybody's response here.

Best Place to find 'em Wildbend River Pool for those with Coords (40.1, 72.5) I finished this quests 12 Electropellers 12.5mins I started with a skill of 123 and ended with 149. No lures. Hope this helps as this is my first post. Goodluck!

Just did this quest and got 100% drop rate (patch 3.3.0a). Either I was lucky or they changed the drop rate.

Well...That's what you call bad luck:

63*Longjaw Mud Snapper
40*Darkshore Grouper
15*Bristle Whisker Catfish
12*Electropeller
10*Brilliant Smallfish

That makes 12/126 catches, giving a drop rate of 9.523%

It took me nearly 40 minutes.

100% fish rate. If you have the skill for it that is. I started with 63 fishing and ended with 75 fishing with 12casts i caught 12 electropellers. I also fished at the Cliffspring River if that affects it.

I was looking for a good river or lake to try my new self-propelled, exploding duck decoy and I think I was a little tipsy... because I passed out and awoke hours later in Auberdine. My hair was singed and my bag of electropellers was gone! I must have dropped them in the water!

I need those electropellers! Maybe you can fish them out of some lake or stream in Darkshore...]
