Boss keeps resetting whenever he succesfully casts his Ground Slam. This bug has already existed on beta.

Ground slam can be kited. Then he doesn't catch you and doesn't evaded.

Boss resets when he casts Ground Smash but it can just be outranged with movement speed abilities. He won't cast it again until he does his other casts.

Trash QA Blizz. Unkillable boss because he keeps resetting himself. What a waste of however long the Delve took. 10/10 won't be any compensation

as of 26th of august still bugged..

However, was able to do it as a DK kiting around the middle podium, strafing left and right and using whatever abilities that could reach. took a few attempts.

Another bugged delve boss... however I was able to defeat it. During the first cast of Ground Slam I heroic leapt away and he failed to cast it. When I came back to melee he cast it again, but this time it worked properly, didn't reset, and I was able to kill the boss.

Still bugged as people are saying. As a Windwalker Monk I recommend using Transcendence, Roll, Tiger's Lust and Flying Serpent Kick to avoid Ground Slam. If you do not run from it, the NPC will reset.

If boss de-spawns upon Ground Slam, leave/hearth and restart.

I died the first time I did this instance, and Brann was no longer showing up in my party. For whatever reason, this glitched out the final boss.

Had limited success with strategies mentioned here, but not for more than one ground slam at a time. Easier to just drop and restart!

Hello, had the same problem as everyone above (resetting the fight after using Ground Slam).

I have a Frost DK. I managed to finish the fight by slowly DPS-ing him down, letting the boss grab me with Ground Slam for 2-3 times, and when he reached 30-25% HP, burst him down.
When you are grabbed by him, you can still use attacks and abilities (to damage or heal).

Hope this helps, until the bug is fixed.

I managed to do it by standing on him, when slammed away i just ran back to him. Playing shadow priest.

I found a solution to the reset. If while fighting, you have 附魔蜡烛 active, dispel the buff (right click) and sit near the 烛光之庇. When 古墓掠影者干须 begins to use 大地猛击, he should no longer reset.

I dispelled 附魔蜡烛 as he was casting 大地猛击 and he was able to use the ability without resetting.

I had more than 10 resets before finally able to beat the boss.

Basically just fought him near the Candlelight Sanctuary object. Didn't do anything special during Ground Slam and let the boss just grab me.

DPS him down until he's dead.

I am not sure whether this is the strategy but it somehow worked for me.

The issue is Brann, if he is in DPS mode it glitches out, switch him to healer and he will do ground slam no issues

Worked on this for about two hours trying to find the right combination.

There are two key elements that will help:

1. If you are using Brann as a Healer you need to convert him to a DPS.
2. Do NOT have aggro when he cast 大地猛击.

As a hunter, I turned off my pets, and went through my regular rotation with no traps or triggering of trinkets, etc..

The fight was over in less than three minutes.

I don't know if this is a bug or if this is the way "it's supposed" to work. The overall mechanics of the delve were fun and different but this was a disappointment.

If you use Brann as a healer most of the time, don't forget to change him back before your next delve.

Solo 8 tier with havoc DH 579ilvl. The easiest boss so far for a noob like me: healer Brann tanked him from the beginning, and boss has only one aoe with manageable damage. Contrary, Bogpiper starts to focus me somewhere at the middle of a fight with no reason as far as I can tell. No such problem with Drywhisker. So, I just needed to drink Brann's vials after flamestorm and be careful about overdamaging him.

UPD: I think Brann loses his agro when he is at low hp. And looks like I was among those who got bugged Brann, so after latest hotfix I can't get him to tank as good as I described. But boss still is very soloable at 8 tier with 585ilvl havoc and 21lvl healer Brann.

Solo Arcane mage 577 ilvl doing a T7: found that setting Brann to healer, keeping the boss near the big candle (and spare room candle), and being very watchful for interrupts and the healing vials made it possible after a few deaths from other different combos to complete.

+1 to the comments for Brann as heals.
I am a shadow priest and found this much easier. Slow and steady careful dps while allowing Brann to take most of the tanking. Using his flasks carefully, I was able to get this first try!

Done him as 568 Frost Mage with these talents.
Sturggled with Bran DPS since no matter how much you control aggro you're on a time limit with the amount of 炽焰风暴 he casts - so no matter how bad you remember Healer Bran I promise as Mage - he is the way :D

Make sure to always have kick available for 暴脾气 (otherwise you're dead)
You can blink/shimmer 大地猛击 but don't use Invisibility since it won't deaggro the boss to brann but reset the whole fight.
For 炽焰风暴 use alter time and/or shields and make sure you know where brans potions lay on the ground.

Also make sure to not carry a candle (you can drop it in the menü (quest tracking overlay on the right side of your viewport) with the arrow down. Place it near where the boss stands - doing so allows you to blink between both candles freely and maintaining enough space to dodge his spells

My bran setup was:
Healer
Unbreakable Iron Idol
Relic of Sentience

All other strats have it wrong. If your Brann is not low level, you will probably first try it with this strat.

TL;DR:: Put Brann on TANK spec.
Ground slam does no damage if you're in the dark. Run into the dark to avoid it.
Brann will hold aggro and tank every immobilize+grab attack. Don't die to firestorm. Don't let Brann die to firestorm either.

Image Proof Analysis:

Firestorm still hurts and can kill if you're careless.
...but Ground Slam isn't even in the list. Ground slam did zero damage to me the whole fight, because it doesn't do damage if you're in the dark.
Also not in the list of things that damaged me: the move where the boss grabs you and you can't move. This is the reason we use Brann in tank spec - he won't ever lose aggro and the target of this move is not random - it's always used on he character who has aggro. Again, not in the damage logs because it never targetted me.

Setup:

Blow out all your candles except one. Put it up at the far edge of the light from the permanent candle in the room.
Brann + boss go on the mini candle you put down. You use the permanent candle for light.
When the boss starts casting Ground slam, run away from the boss and the candle light into the dark.
Go far enough in darkness that you drop targetting of the boss and his visual fades/starts to fade to black. Run back in after Ground Slam casts and just repeat a few times till he's dead.

You don't even have to avoid the attack where he picks you up and holds you in place - Brann will tank them all, he won't ever lose aggro and the target of this move is the character who has aggro.

Need More Explanation?:

Plant a candle somewhat close to the permanent candle (it's behind where the boss spawns if you don't see it.)
Stand at max range from the boss, so you're in the light from the permanent candle, but behind you is darkness.
You should not be using the mini candle for light. It's only so you can target him/damage him.

Have Brann tank him at the edge of the miniature torch's light radius. Easiest if you pull the boss to this spot at fight start before tank Brann gets aggro.
When you see the boss casting ground slam, run away from your candles and the boss. Run into the darkness.
Yes you'll get some darkness stacks, they fall off really quickly nce you get back to the light. Also you won't be getting melee'd with tank Brann.
You'll take no damage from Ground Slam, and Brann in tank mode will never lose aggro. You going into the dark doesn't mess up Brann holding aggro. Now just run back in and continue the battle.

From my quick observations it doesn't matter if the boss is still in the light when Ground Slam goes off - as long as you are far enough in the darkness it's zero damage.

If you don't understand the candle placement, here is a linear representation.

B+B_________You ---> Dark
or, with words
Brann+Boss__Mini Candle___Big Candle__You ---> Dark Run away into the dark for Ground Slam.

Underscores are just the floor - more undeRscores implies a (relatively) longer distance. It's not that tight of a margin, go for it, you can do this.
