I believe the strategy is to cc the bat to prevent the casting of it's Hypno spell, then focus the mini.
Her general list of abilities (I don't know if they're the exact names but I think this is it)
Shadow Eruption: Point blank AoE. Does significant shadow damage and (if you survive) and -50% healing received debuff (cannot be dispelled)
Blood Siphon: Puts up an absorb and drains life from players around it. Cannot be interrupted while shield is up. (Shield nerfed Aug 3rd by 33% but still worth using CDs as this increases her effective health a TON).
Shadow Claws: stacking dispellable debuff on tank (pretty painful, do dispel it)
Hypnosis Bat: The bat channels a spell (cannot interrupt but can stop with CC) that will make the targeted player hostile for 30s. They are not Mind Controlled but can be killed.
She provides 3 stacks of the Shrouded buff rather than the 1% from the normal Nathrezim.
Confirmed locations (thanks GhostRiderx & Dwanex for posting locations before I updated):
Grimrail Depot: 2nd mob after first boss (Can be pulled before boss by jumping at the door and attacking with ranged attack)
Iron Docks: Middle of the room just prior to first boss
Lower Kara: Room directly behind stage where the non-agro cast are hanging out (people tend to skip all of this though)
Upper Kara: Third mob. At the top of the stairs/ramp before the mechs
Junkyard: Pat pack in middle of "room" at gnome boss
Workshop: Just before 2nd boss
Streets: 2 pack guarding exit just after first boss (clear before the boss for the + stat bonus)
Gambit: Final murloc pack just prior to hallway leading to first boss (on the left side as you're looking at the hallway)
As I have been pugging my way up to +15s I'm finding that most lesser skilled/ uninformed groups don't help with the bat. It is really important to contain it. One quick CC on it is enough to disrupt the bat to keep it from mind controlling a party member.
A simple macro like what I use on my druid saves my life more times than I care to count.
/tar Hypnosis Bat
All classes can deal with it, but I find using scare beast on my hunter to be one of the most effective. Yes, it can be easier to trap, but I've found when it is feared people tend to ignore the bat. But when it is trapped, for some reason puggers tunnel direct damage into the bat in a complete panic. I'm sure higher level players scoff at this, but come down to the trenches with the unwashed masses and revel in human behavior.
Good luck with your keys.
