How to defeat
Pull and big burst explode all your damage boom boom
Dispel purple wings buff
Interrupt or dispel
Use stuns on the boss
Dark Ascended Corrus Twisting Corridors Layer 8
As a ilvl 184 UH DK I did this on Layer 6 solo.
Just use interrupt and stun to avoid damage as much as possible. She hits 6,5k melee on Plate with pretty slow melee animations, and her Shadow rip is 9,5k instant damage with a very small dot for ~100 each tick. I didn't kite but I think it is viable to kite with Chains of Ice and Virulent Plague if you are having issues, considering she only has melee skills (believe Shadow Rip is melee).
Frost mage 182 with very crap powers managed this easy. Just kite and save your blink for when she jumps on you.
Not sure if it was just me and/or a bug, but at some point she seemed to become immune to my voidwalker's taunt. My first couple attempts, everything was golden until she was around 20% health, then I just had all the aggro all the time. Did manage to get her down solo (destro lock, ilvl 174, layer 5) but it was ROUGH.
She can legit one-shot you. Just got hit with a normal hit for 38k. I can't interrupt all her spells. So if you don't have enough burst damage you can just make another run.
As a Balance Druid with iLvl 157, I interrupted all the Stygian Shields and simply outhealed everything else and just stood there and burned him down. Make sure you have your Resto affinity and heals on your bar.
Have no idea if this is intended , but 600k hp + 120-130% increased damage when he reach 10 stacks buff at some point without any ability to CC , stun or anything else ..looks like as bug. How am i suppose to beat this as a BM hunt (187ilvl) when my pet dies in 2 hits after boss reach 40% ? Did it 3 times...3 fails. Get him to 100-150k and i can't do anything else after that...
: Don't try staying toe-to-toe with her. You cannot interrupt everything, even with Gouge, Kidney Shot, and Blind.
What you CAN do is kite her indefinitely with Pistol Shot, using Sprint, Gouge, and Kidney Shot to keep your distance when she catches up (and dumping some damage in during the KS stun). Her spells have a very short range, so she will not cast them if you keep out of melee range.
Just solo'd her as a ilvl 189 Outlaw on Layer 6.
Level i171 BM hunter. I can't do this solo or duo with an equal balance druid. Once Unnatural hits 10, it's game over. Druid was bursting 9k and I was dispelling and keeping the pet alive at 4.5k damage. Unnatural needs tuned really bad, or allow the pet to taunt. 200% damage and speed and there is no kiting options. Pet dies in 1-2 hits even keeping Stygian off. Waste of 3 hours.
183 ilvl hunter, embers lego,
24 relevant anima powers :
Stormcycle (DOT chance), Crystalized Dreams (Soulshape 12s immunity), Feline Femur x3 (Cheetah cd reduc), Kyrian Blessing (mastery buff chance), Sticky Tar x3 (increased snare), Ord of Replenish.(craetes healing orbs), Sigil of Skoldus ( traps incr. damage), Obleron Endurance x2 (health incr.), Bursting Tar( snare area incr.), Forsworn Feather ( increased speed), Peltsman's Grit ( damg. debuff on mob), Negation Well (increase jumps), Corruption Antenna (DOT chance), Huntsmasters Cypher (Killer instnt talent), Fallen Armaments (haste buff), Dark Fortress (damg. reduc buff).
First time I died when mob had 30k health left.
Second time I won by using mend pet on CD, tar trap on CD(snare), Tranq Shot(dispell on mob) on CD, and my interupt. Pets still died twice, was luck one time cuz the second pet didnt die and I was able to revive without getting aggro.
When I did get aggro I used the super jump , soulshape or cheetah to get outta dodge,,,,the speed increase anima Forsworn feather fully maxed out gave me 196% increase in run speed ( I have some speed gear on too) so I could move quick regardless.
Even so I had to play just about perfect to pull it off... boss is overtuned imo.
Yeah, this layer boss get's ridiculous unless you get the right powers. Multiple stacks Secret Spices is probably the only thing that will save anyone...building up ridiculous health. Otherwise it's a near 1-2 shot for you and/or your pet if you have one.
On level 6, as a trio of only mixed heroic/mythic dungeon geared bdk, pirate, owl was very easy - the owl copped all the charges being the only ranged but he could heal himself, and the damage on my dk was nothing i couldn't handle myself.
Ignored stygian shield, and just interrupted all of the shadow rip casts, was able to do them myself as i had picked up a few -3s interrupt anima off vendors - but yeah possible could have jsut ignored shadow rip and interrupted only stygian - it's the interaction between the two that gets dangerous.
Threat wasn't an issue, so not sure about taunt immunity past the no CC point they all reach, sounds par for the course though.
179 Shadow priest, did her on layer six. I didn't get any of the really cool anima powers but had a combination of buffs that got my int to 2100 and my haste to 45% (which was CRAZY fun to play btw.) It didn't even matter that I couldn't interrupt most of her crap, I popped all my cooldowns and a pot and she just kind of fell over. RIP.
183 Balance Druid on Layer 6. Killed first try. Burn hard and ignore the Shadow Rip. Use your (limited) interrupts on the Stygian Shield. She doesn't cast it nearly as often. Treants and bash for an extra interrupt are what I ran.
Ilvl186 Layer 6 Solo Fury Warrior here is a short video of my fight
Layer 6 of Coldheart Interstitia in Torghast, Tower of the Damned last boss.
Boss: Dark Ascended Corrus.
Soloed as 174 Warr, i had 80-100% HP all fight... He didnt even hit hard..
Get those INCREASED ARMOR... i had 110% inc Armor at 2.200
Also saving up the 100% inc Condemn, just take it away from bars when you get it so you dont missklick and save for bosses..
Pop all CD:s, i even forgot Drums at start so used midfight when i had no cd:s etc..
Prnt screened end of fight.. Me att 100% boss at 5%
That boss needs to be buffed me only being 174 :)
So, Just did as Shadow Priest 195 solo, 21 crit. 15 hast, 10 mast, 8 ves.
Got several animas power of life with hits and stamina buf. Used lust (drums). Was rly easy. I also got an anima that my fade spawed a add that agro the boss, so maybe all that counted.
For all priest there: Don't forget to dispell and interrupt. Dispell is crucial here, since reduces your dmg on him.
185 Sub Rogue, did it floor 8 solo today. Didn't have great anima powers, but the little decay flys pretty much is the only reason i got it done most likely. Can't stun it all, so you do take a crap load of damage. Got it literally by the skin of my teeth.
i met this on my first layer (first Torghast after the introductory one)
I was Orc Arms warrior ilv 156, mostly all sinful pvp gear. I cleared the place got everything I could find.
No way i can even get him to even 50%!
And first attempt i had 3 healthstone, 3 phials, plus Hp pot you buy in the instance and spiritual heal pot, but without any self heal ability whatsoever this is an impossible fight I think.
why is such a difficult boss in layer 1?
I'm gonna call Corrus "The New Synod." This fight is
So I went up against her solo on Coldheart 4 as a Blood DK with two bazillion hp and managed to chip her down. I'm not going to waste your time recounting my buffs because I basically got lucky and there's not much I can relate about this fight that isn't "kite if you can" because she's zero fun toe to toe. I nearly got taken out at 20% hp after some nasty back to back hits but: Blood DK.
Good hunting, comrades. May RNGesus bless your Anima bubbles.
I did this on the 18th floor today (Jan 5 2020) solo as BM hunter with pretty bad rng on powers. She kept 1 shotting my pet, and it was pretty horrible. Here is how I did it.
1- Smashed my face on the keyboard as hard as I could at the start - hitting all CDs.
I interrupted he shield for max damage
2- By the time CDs were up she was 1 shotting my pet.
Here is the trick that worked
(it was a pain). I rezed my pet, put him on passive, kited her in tar and hit her with cobra shot and flare damage (embers) to get her to trickle down.
4- The reason I rezed my pet and had him on passive was so she would do her periodic leap on him and not me while I chipped away.
5- When pet stun and CDs were up - I'd unload again with a stun at the start, so I could get full effect from CDs - rinse/repeat.
This went on so long that her stacks finally reset (which I did not know would happen).
Last I looked she was around 45 stacks, so prolly resets at 50.
7- So then, since her stacks reset I waited again for stun and CDs, unloaded and dropped her.
I used my corehound for lust. plus he had the shield that kept him alive longer than any of my other pets.
Yeah it was a wipe-fest for my Balance 198 druid. I had pretty good powers and a few buffs to my Convoke, but still I couldn't burn it down before the damage became too much (this was at Level 18 of twisted), Pretty disappointing waste of time. I tried everything - kiting, standing and burning, Cyclone to try and get rid of the stacks, etc. but nothing worked.
Managed it solo on my 189 feral on floor 18, but was a real pain and was even more so because the torments gave her buffed health and melee. All I can offer in way of advice to my fellow ferals is to hope you have enough health buffs + at least 1 Lycara's Twig to heal yourself through it and to try and make sure you stack as many draught of the midday calm as you can.
You can stand toe to toe with her if you have some decent health buffs and if you pop defensives at the start. During this time pop as many CDs as you can and burn her. Ignore Shadow Rip, prioritize interrupting the shield and stop to heal yourself up anytime you hit 50% health or below. When she gets to 3 or 4 stacks start kiting, save defensives for running back in to refresh your bleeds and save speed buffs for running away when she jumps on you. Good luck!
212ilvl Prot Paladin, ~170K HP.
Did this with all deaths intact on Layer 8, Floor 18. This fight, like many others in Twisting Corridors is broken, period. Around ~30% on all 4 attempts the boss begins hitting regular melee hits for well over 600,000.
For example, one strike while I was at full HP: shows a regular
hit for 32,931 (630,865 overkill). Even the combat log doesn't make sense.
At this point, twisting corridors is basically RNG and hoping you don't get one of the buggy and broken bosses on your last floor. Otherwise, it's goodbye 3 more hours.
Yeah, this one is just stupid. Was watching the impeachment proceedings during the first 17 floors, yawning through every level. Spent all my deaths on this boss and never got her to 20%. What a waste of time.
ilvl 142 Brewmaster Monk in layer 2, I read some of the above suggestions about CC and distance, and was able to pull it off using Summon Black Ox Statue, the boss completely ignored it, except when he didn't, he chose it as a jump/bash target from time to time, allowing me a second to heal and glance again at my cooldowns to see if anything was ready to go, including trinkets, etc. I'd chosen "When you engage a boss, get three 25% health globes that spawn wherever" Anime powers, I used those carefully. Keeping a good rotation of Expel Harm/Purifying Brew/Celestial Brew to make sure I was dying as slow as possible.
* Pew pew everything you have
* Interrupt his Stygian Shield cast every time, int shadow rip only when convenient, use roll to avoid the ones you don't int.
* Use Paralysis to get some heals off if he doesn't have any dots on him at the moment, but it's a handy extra interrupt when you're out
* place your ox statue and let it take some of the leap bashes.
* Check your Anime powers again to make sure you're not overlooking a potential CC or dmg source, I forgot I had "Enemies you roll through have a dot cast on them" and I had roll up to 5 charges, so that's cool
ilvl 192 Ardenweald Fury Warrior
Got this on tier 5 layer 18 on a run where the elites in the final wing were taking so damn long to kill, it was 3am, and let's just say I'm glad I had upwards of 10 deaths available. It took a couple frustrating tries where I'd get her close to 5% before suddenly finding myself with a six figure overkill, but with some practice I was able to get her down.
The things that helped:
Lots of available deaths (given how many close calls there were)
133k HP. More than once I went from full to like 30% in one hit, so get beef'd
Healing powers up the wazoo. I'm talking Enraged Regeneration with a 4 minute duration, full stacks of Bloodgorged Leeches, full stacks of Succulent Carpaccio to increase my Ignore Pain, and anything and everything that buffed/casted Whirlwind
Having multiple burst windows. Combination of Smoldering Inertia (200% dmg after charge) and Ogundimu's Fist (knockback on interrupt) was a big help, along with greatly increased Recklessness duration and 90% increased damage through shouts
Using Spell Reflect on Shadow Rip as much as I could (though idk if that helped)
Interrupting Stygian Shield
Being both Ardenweald and a tauren with extra interrupts in case you panic and interrupt the wrong thing
I only had a few smoke bombs going into this fight, but I used those all up in my earlier attempts and they weren't any help by the time I downed her. Basically, I just thwarted her casted abilities as best I could and frantically tried to keep up Ignore Pain while spamming Bloodthirst. Having the big heals was absolutely instrumental to defeating this boss since I have no way of dropping debuffs, so it was a race between my healing and whatever stacking damage was happening; idk if there even was stacking damage, I was too busy trying to keep healed.
Getting to this boss was such a long, sluggish battle toward the end but I'm glad I was able to defeat her. While you can't know who the final boss will be, it seems like the best course of action for Fury Warriors is to make sure you have beefy self heals cuz those can help you squeak by some of the trickier encounters.
There are some great strats posted here for normal Torghast runs. I haven't seen anything from those unfortunate enough to get this guy on Layer 8 Floor 18, so I'll share my experience.
If you get to L8 F15 and see a little guy with angel wings is gonna be your final L8 F18 boss, cut your losses and go save an hour. Unless you've gotten the best RNG on a top tier DPS class with significant interrupts, you've probably lost. 10.5mil hp +/- depending on Coldheart torment. Your only realistic chance will be if you can consistently interrupt every Stygian Shield, or otherwise negate the damage long enough to wittle down his massive HP pool before you can no longer survive his massive melee hits.
Don't even waste an attempt trying to kite. Unnatural Power not only buffs his damage 10% every so often, but also his movement speed. Not to mention, he will randomly jump to you and instantly melee strike. Pets can soak this (he seems to jump to pets if any are active), but it won't matter. Because if you're kiting then you're not going to do enough damage to kill him before his run speed significantly exceeds yours (even with 30-60% of movement speed anima powers) so he will eventually catch you without needing to jump.
ilvl 181 MM Hunter on Layer 1. Got this boss at 200k or so health, literally impossible. Tried interrupting her Stygian Shield at every opportunity, tried Concussive Shot, still died enough that I had to restart. THIS boss, in particular, NEEDS to be NERFED SUBSTANTIALLY. Otherwise, I cannot finish the Torghast quest to look for Anduin.
Attempted this guy on layer 2 floor 18, 210 MM hunter. he has a one shot ability that you can move out of but you have to already be moving bc it's too fast to react to. Waste of 3 hours of my life.
This is a DPS race really.
For rogues there are things you need to play around, you are squishy. Best to find a group, but if not, you need to do a full clear to get all the anima to buy powers. Things like -Sepsis resets Adrenaline if target doesn't die.
-Ambush applies a 5 point Rupture.
-Prefight stuff like if you got Distract attaches charges that do crazy fire dmg and stuns for 3 seconds.
-Dodging during evasion extending evasion by one second also helps.
-Any power that gives you a talent option.
Basically look at your powers and set up your rotation to maximize that.
It is why leaving torghast resets your bars and for rogues their active poison.
The most important advice for any Torghast run is this:
When picking powers no matter how great or bad they are, pick the ones that can make your single target rotation damage as high as possible.
L8 normal torghast, ilvl 197 brewmaster, with two stacks of Corrosive Dosage and 7xSmoke Bomb. All I can say is that it was easy. I kept healing myself and interrupting her shield, and refreshing smoke bombs (used a total of 4 before she died)
Kyrian fury warrior. Floor 18 layer 8. Interrupted the shield... shadow rip hurt but I tanked it pretty well between all of the defensive abilities I had (including a flat 25% physical reduction). Got her to 30% and she did an unavoidable 88k hit. Not really fair. 5th night in a row praying to the RNG gods, but tonight I got every viable Epic ability and still couldn't do it. What a horrible experience for Fury.
208 outlaw rogue — Solod on floor 18 of twisting corridor 8, boss had 10306k HP
I solod all 8 layers.
Most efficient way to solo twisting corridor is to make sure you get fractured halls wing first. Keep exiting/ reseting at start until you get it— clear out every single thing in the first 3 floors and purchase a ravenous anima cell, use it on the appropriate caster to get Marrow Scoop power (look at ravenous anima cell wowhead page comments to see who to throw it at) now you will be up to your neck in anima, and be able to buy every single thing from the broker each 3 floors. Ideally you want Fractured>Fractured>Skoldus but that’s another topic.
Any class— choose HP. Mawrat killing buff, no jump buff, and as many obleron endurance (15% hp increase) as you can buy. You should be well above 100k with all these.
Outlaw rogue— the key powers are buffing your grappling hook, you want:
3 “slippery wraithcoil” (reduces cool down and gives 1 combo point)
“Onyx Geode” watchamacalit (gives cloak or evasion or vial for 15s) 15 SECONDS is the key.
“First Step” - epic power. Gives debuff to enemies within 8yd of where you grapple to— Increased damage taken from next finisher by 400%. 400%
Last one is optional, but you also want the rare power that gives you acrobatic strikes, so you can pick both acrobatic strikes and the grappling power in row 2 of outlaw talents. Although it’s optional because if you don’t get it you can stand in the bubble at broker and choose it over acrobatic strikes. This talent is vital.
Now you spam grappling hook like your life depends on it because it does, and if you have the Timer reduction roll the bones buff, you’ll be grappling then dispatch the entire time, and you’ll never lose evasion and cloak of shadows. Making you nigh invincible. Grappling hook is the number one priority, I had 250k grits with that 400% buff.
Every other power you get is icing on the cake for extra dps.
I used no smokebombs or damage buff potion. Grappling dispatch grappling dispatch. If you miss a global or don’t have timer roll the bones up, kidney shot, run away (make sure you have crippling poison for this fight) and stall or blind or what have you.
The beauty of it is that you’ll still have your traditional evasion/cloak to pop if you’re in trouble.
I solod all 8 layers with this method. Grappling hook costs no energy and when done right can be used every 2 globals— while maintaining at least 8 seconds of all three cloak/evasion/vial.
I recommend getting the appropriate rep with the maw vendor chick so the broker in torghast can sell you uncommon powers. The broker will almost always have the sought after onyx geode power.
151 ilvl fire mage vs 1000k hp Corrus in floor 18. Went down easily on 2nd try. Not sure if she was nerfed in 9.0.5, but I had been
lucky to collect a lot of buffs along the way during this run.
Triune Ward with 3x or 4x Resolute Medallion is extremely good combo; 50 stacks of Secret Spices for health; Dimensional Blade for infinite Blink charges to dodge every attack; and 100 stacks of Seeker's Scroll for melting her down.
