Tried as a 168 fire mage and got destroyed. Thought I could kite him, but he creeps up fast and beats you down. Not sure how to approach him, given the lack of comments (none) and nothing on here for his abilities. This fight is just brutal in cloth.

Just took him down as a 178 Shadow priest. The boss starts out with 9 stacks of a 90% damage reduction debuff. I suggest using some type of CC and spamming a quick instant ability to remove his stacks (in my case I feared him with Psychic Scream and spammed Shadow Word: Pain). At about 3 stacks I went ahead and did my opener. He died very quickly once his stacks were removed. Good luck.

- He starts the fight with 9 stacks of damage reduction (10% each). Any move will remove 1 stack.
- At about 1.5 min into the fight he will reset his 9 stacks of "damage reduction".
- Throughout the fight he continues to slowly stack "damage increase" stacks every ~15 seconds.
AT 10 STACKS HE CAN NO LONGER BE ROOTED, SLOWED, CC'D, SNARED.
This is essentially the soft Berserk, and Blizz's attempt to make him tough to solo. So, at this point you can no longer slow him, and he will smash tanking pets apart. So there's a timer on the fight, to stop people from just kiting all day.

Only other abilities aside from his buff are a bite and a 3 projectile acid bomb lob. Soloed as a Ret Pally and took a damage split of 80-20 between autos and the bite. The most tank and spank Torghast boss I've faced so far.

Just solo'd him on Layer 4 as a 164 Affliction Warlock. Barely. I had great luck in anima powers, and it took all I had, including good luck on Mark of Borrowed Power procs (and three attempts) to get him down. Needed to resummon Voidwalkers and CC a lot, while cranking out serious damage. My adrenaline is pumping and I feel like I could lift a car. RAWR.

One-shot as a 165 boomkin. I switched to Treants talent and Stellar Flare for this fight just for the extra attacks to remove stacks. Similar to Tempestari on SPriest, I let my treants and dots knock a few stacks off before really opening up on DPS. The only vaguely intresting anima powers I picked up were physical damage reduced by 30%, and maximum health increased by 100% (rooted in place/slowed). Downside to that last one is I was hit by a couple poison spews, but it didn't really hurt. His melee did 1600-1800 damage per tick versus Ysera's Gift healing me for 1400 a tick.
Overall, with treants going it was a 1-shot fight. I probably didn't need the extra stellar flare talent, but it made me feel bettering going into the fight. Took a 1:34 to complete.

Took 3 Torgast runs to finally kill this punk. 184 Demo lock (at the time) and one of the main reasons it was tough was the lack of good anima powers combined with the floor 5 and 6 mobs having INSANE hp. The stacking buff they get is absolutely treacherous if you do not have the anima powers to counter. I finally got it and it took everything I had (including some super OP powers like the ability to cast Hand of Gul'Dan for just 10% hp which also hits your soul leech shield so that is nice :D) in addition to summoning an extra tyrant and a bunch of other survivability + burst powers. Instant summon demon is a MUST.
Strategy (this is for demo though I bet it can be used as Aff / Destro also)
1. ENGAGE DECAYSPEAKER FIRST (This is a must, if you open with fear he will not drop stacks)
2. Keep your pet on him and chain fear (for me, I was fear + HoG + fear + HoG, etc so I could build as many imps to burst him down when the shield dropped). Your best bet is to cast fillers and builders so you can burst him down - that is literally the only way.
3. Rotate the use of Shadowfury and Fear as needed, Mortal Coil is also a huge boon (if you have Darkfury + increased stun duration from Shadowfury anima ability that is golden as well)
4. Wait until his stacks drop to around 3 or 2 before you "start" your dps rotation - you NEED TO BURST. All CDs, pots, demons, spells, lust, whatever you got - you need to use this time otherwise he will get back to 9 stacks.
5. Because I had insta-summon demon ability power I was able to twist the stunning of the felduard (charge) as well as axe toss (stun) in addition to keeping him cc'd.
6. He becomes CC immune at 10 stacks of that unrelenting power or whatever buff so you need to pace but also burst as needed. Felt so good when I got him (I was spamming so many HoGs I think I had around 40 imps just going ham).
7. BREATHE AND GOOD LUCK!

Very doable if you have the right anima powers which is really the thing i think in Torghast. I did the last layer instantly without doing any previous.
As fury warrior with some good anima powers this was no sweat for me.
I was ilvl 185 with the rank 2 legs with the Deathbreaker legendary power.

As a Beast Master Hunter, this guy put me down 6 or 7 times over 2 runs. He would just eventually crush my pet, and even if I could get my pet rez'd, he's quickly crush it again. I finally beat him after creating a weak aura that popped up a big old icon and played a loud sound whenever Mend Pet would come off cooldown. I thought I was using it pretty religiously before, but with the audible reminder, I would hit Mend Pet without even looking at my pets health. Near the end when my pet died anyway, I just ran as far away as possible (not kiting, he was too fast and hit too hard) and let my DoTs (from anima powers) finish him.

Got this POS on layer 6 of Coldheart...my BM hunter is 182 ilvl with embers lego. Totally overtuned imo for solo play. I got the slug to drop the protection buffs in the beginning of the fight by keeping my pets back and shooting him from the entrance to the platform. After the stacks were dropped I engaged pets.....didnt matter. After getting him down to 75% he was just about two shotting my pets every 20 sec or so. Whatever attack he used was dropping my pets from about 80% heatlh to 10% in one shot, then he's finished them off a few seconds later and the long cast time they implemented for pet revives makes it very difficult to survive a revive without using turtle...so after one turtle use and a couple of lucky revives while he was slowed I had him down to 50% but I was out of tricks for the next pet death and he finished me.
As for some people saying it was relatively easy to down him I'll say this....getting this guy on layer 3 and layer 6 are two totally different ball games...I had this same SOB on layer 3 of the lower level and downed him without even moving him around...layer 6 of coldheart he eats pets easily....and prolly everyone else too....waste of or 40-50 min if you get this guy currently on layer 6.

Solo as sub rogue 170ilvl. Just backstab to take his stacks off and then go ham. I did have to use a pot and phial to survive at the end. Wouldn't hurt to make sure you are well fed, even use a flask if need be. Everything helps. As a rogue I skip a lot of packs to get to him.

161 ilvl firemage. That was BRUTAL but i succeeded. here was my strat, took 3 tries.
prereq - have that 20x fireball from invis, as many as you possibly can. (personally i dont think these are soloable without at least one)
1) Open with Frostbolt. Use this to get the stacks of armor down to 1 or none. this will be done via kiting
2) cast poly. we used frost bolt so scortch wouldnt break poly. Poly only lasts 9 seconds so this next part is quick.
3) after poly, cast rune and then invis. IMMEDIATELY cast fireball, followed by another. when you become invis, the boss will un-poly and will turn to disengage the fight. the first fireball will miss / evade, however the second does not and hits for the full power of the buff.
4) now the fight begins. He needs to be kited. The poison pools arent bad, but his bite SUCKS. keep constant presure.
**TIPS**
- Pop combust right after the second fireball and go to work, alternating pheonex and blast, then the kiting really begins.
- Use alter time and blink on cd.
- Use time warp, i dont think its possible without it.
- buy those health pots. Youll need them.

Solo'ed him as a 179 MM hunter with the serpent shot legendary. Biggest help on this fight was getting the Forsworn Feather buff and getting a full 30 stacks (90% movement speed) which allows you to effectively kite him around the ring as he'll truck your pet without mercy. Also getting reduced movement speed on tar trap definitely helps too so you can kite him into it and land some aimed shots off on him. Otherwise, get your full speed on Forsworn Feather, and run him around in circles with steady shots, barrages, and arcane shots.
It also helps to start the fight off by reducing his shield (the first 9 actions), then popping a pet with lust before he gets too speedy and hurty. I think I had him down to 50% HP by the time lust wore off.

171 Frost Mage - with a 4000% increase to frost bolt damage from invis, spells not breaking frost nova, 850% increase to first blizzard, and the power that deals 1500 shadow damage after a critical hit this boss got absolutely melted. He was down before my mirror images died.
With the right RNG, this boss fight is decently easy and isn't one of those super impossible fights. His damage reduction buff will be extremely annoying if you don't have the powers to nuke through it.

I had to struggle a bit to get this one done on layer 6.
I am a iLvL 187 Sub Rogue, MA leg. Got good animas but not against him.
The smoke is pretty much useless, but you can burst him down if you keep your stuns and evasions for when it reaches less than 30% hp. Pop evasion and shadow dance to take him around 15%, use kidney shot and cheat death should be enough to save you and finish this beast

I'm glad I came here first. As a 192 BM Hunter, he's not bad on Layer 5, but I imagine he's a lot more difficult for other classes.
The important thing for me was to remove his stacks. I hit hit with Cobra Shot until his stacks where gone, then popped my potions, trinkets, and BL. He melted. At 192, I didn't need all of that. Other classes might.
Just remember, get the stacks off as quickly as possible, then pop everything.

Solo'ed as a lvl 178 MM hunter. As said before take his stacks down to zero (rapid fire didn't take them down by 7 btw, thought it might) then pop CD's and nuke. He will kill your pet quickly but keep healing and use freezing trap or Aspect of the Turtle to give you time to rez your pet and carry on until he's down.

Managed to down Decayspeaker as an ilvl 174 enhancement shaman with the boss having 11 stacks of Unstable Power. The spec is built around a priority cooldown rotation, which means we don't have easily spam-able abilities. It's simply best to proceed as normal while saving your biggest hard-hitters and Bloodlust for the burst window.

I am a 183 BM Hunter and I was able to solo this on a Layer 6. I ordered my pets to play dead and then pulled him all the way to the bridge where you run up, I turtled, ran through him and by then he had no stacks. I popped my pets up and popped all my cold downs and hero. His final resting spot was on the bridge right outside the arena area. Every bit I would notice 5 stacks show up but they would slowly tick down without the boss visibly moving. Not sure why it worked that way but I was able to kill him without breaking a sweat.
It should be noted that I was rocking 50% increase in Agility and a metric ton of boosted healing powers and auto healing.

Absolutely stupid boss.
2 manning spriest/ww monk and not enough damage (thanks to !@#$ty anima luck of course because why wouldn't they double stuff you with trash). WW monk dying if he didnt kite virtually the entire time, insta slows and not enough healing could be done while doing damage to save.
Given the extended beta period for this expansion and their constant hype for diablo in WoW one would think this would have been better tested and perhaps tuned a bit better.
Basically if you're not a class with stupid burst and something to tank for you the entire time, don't bother.

Not really sure what or how i killed him but he started to own my pet after a bit and then I simply feigned (180 survival) and trapped him, re-summoned a new pet and finished him.
It "seemed" like something I did in the fight reset his stacks or damage buff or debuff or whatever. It might have been that FD anima power that wipes off all bad debuffs.
Shrug was great to one shot him :)

Used all my cd's to start, kept circling him, leg swept once from the start, 2nd time on cd, then I think he was immune after. Had a combo of healing and dps powers by then. Felt like a dps race and a survival, more or less. I just kept making sure I was hitting him with everything. One thing that may have helped, not sure, he didn't hit me once with his spit on my 2nd try. Good luck!

For all mages:
What helped me with this fight was having runecloth wrappings but I believe as of writing this (or by time I wake up tomorrow) that power will be severely nerfed and this is my experience on Layer 6, so my advice is this:
If you get a chance of getting 2 or more Runecloth Wrappings for the invisibility buff, take them. Don't think about what powers will help you during floors, think about what will help you get a victory at the very end.
I was up against this awful boss I opened by hitting prescence of mind for quick hits against his shell, then slow to obviously slow him while I still hit him. By time he gets really close you wanna hit mirror images, touch of the magi and then go invisibile to get that massive arcane blast bonus. By time you end invisibiity and have hit him he will have killed your mirrors, so hit slow again, pummel him until you're out of mana, blink far from him and evocate then whack whack whack. This should be enough to finish him butyou have to dodge those green swirls, they will one shot you.
I intended to fight him as frost but Arcane had that raw instant nuke on him - with the nerfs going live shortly I feel Frost will have the stronger hand here so as before just open to hit his stacks of shell OFF, mirror image, invis, frostbolt, blizzard and frozen orb - then go ham. Always have time warp and if in frost Icy Veins.
t's about keepimg him far from you as possible, mages do excel at this. Good luck everyone, this coming week no doubt this will be much easier but just for those still struggling.

I did have about 40k health not that it mattered as I never got below 90%.
Did have 2 of the Anima where my Vivify does 100% damage every second for 3 seconds.
Leg Sweep, TP, RSK, TP, TP, BOK. Pop my Fallen Order (did also have the shadow damage upon death anima)
Then just vivified until the boss died.

Resto druid ilvl 175 layer 5. He only had 6 stacks of his shell buff for the layer 5.
Got a few stacks of that anima power that makes it to where when you shapeshift you deal 200% extra dmg- So about 600% more dmg with my wrath and shred. Spammed moonfire six times to get the stacks off and his shell came off. Then I did my convoke and he was like 20% instantly lol. Took just a bit of the back and forth shred/wraths to get him down quick.
Torghast was already pretty easy to solo for heals, the nerf made it even moreso than I could have imagined. I feel stronger as heals dpsing stuff than I do on my frost mage in here. Don't get me wrong, it's easy on my mage as well, but things go down way quicker than should be possible on my healer lol. "Swipe" about 2-3 times and everything around me is dead. I feel like I am doing old content dungeons. And honestly, I don't mind it. I didn't mind it being harder, either, though.

Had Druid Heals, Druid tank, 2 Mage DPS. On level 7 we get him to about 50% before he starts hitting WAY too hard for heals to keep up @ about 18+ stacks of the DMG buff. Didn't seem like our DPS was even all that bad. Mages were doing 2.5 and 3.5 k. Feels VERY freakin bad doing the entire level 7 only to get to the boss and not have our dmg be high enough...really really bad.
This needs some tuning.

Using the immolation aura build (5 stacks of immolation flux) with 200% mastery, but I only had 115k hp.
He had about 5M hp, and his Bite attack will one-shot you as soon as he reaches 3 or 4 stacks of the elite damage buff, so you need to jump away as soon as he starts to cast it (as always, take care with your camera).

As a 195 assassination rogue meeting him on Level 1, Floor 18, this guy was pretty easy, given that I had collected the cells needed to decrease the cooldown of my Shadowstep to 12 seconds, various cells to get my poison damage up, lots of Soul Remnants Blessings, and that one anima cell that give you 400% damage to the next finishing hit after doing Shadowstep. With these in place, I just DPS'd and avoided his poisons, while shadowstepping and every time I had my combo points up and shadowstep was available. I don't think it took more than a minute or so to down him, and I didn't take a lot of damage.

Lots of luck as always with RNG, but I ended up stacking a few HP animas, so I had >200k HP and a few defensive rares and the usual reduced damage when Moonfire is on.. tbh he didnt really hit me below maybe 75% health.. I just dotted and ran a lot, convoke when it was up.. left a few orbs for the odd heal when I was a stressed.. there was nothing to interrupt. I just ran a lot.. it didnt feel too strategic.. I did use the entire floor, using anything I could like treants, tornado, even the odd cyclone to get some distance to heal and let cooldowns come back and maybe do some dps.. I mean it was just a few seconds.. he was moving quite fast by the end..
Anyway.. wasnt easy but no deaths or anything..

194 Hunter in BM spec with flare leggo. I got him on floor 6, layer 8, came here and thought 'oh geez.' I didn't even look at any debuff on him, just threw everything at him. I had multiple buffs for KC but very little in the way of healing because they were all based on first hit of a new mob. But he never even looked at me.
This was during the 'Beasts' event so I had the second "pet" which had both it's health and damage boosted by a few stacks. He killed my pet at about 30-40% (using corehound) before I could get off a heal, but then the event pet kept him fully occupied while I rez'd mine. And I just kept on my usual rotation. He killed my pet a second time right about the time he dropped but I was confident the event pet would have done the same thing, plus I had the buff that let me cast during turtle, if he ever came at me, which he didn't.

If you can get the following it should be easy:
Sticky Tar

Bursting Tar
Just keep the boss in Tar Trap the whole time, use it on cooldown. If he gets out of it he'll one-shot you. If he does, use Aspect of the Turtle or other major defensives/evasions until you can get another Tar Trap up.
Other powers that help:

I'm curious for details on what causes him to lose stacks. Due to how shadow priest abilities work I only had one shot at killing him and I was panicking when the stacks weren't dropping the way I'd expected. For example I cast 3/4 of a Mind Flay and a stack didn't drop so I did something else. I wonder if there is a damage minimum. I'm reviewing the video I captured and the stacks are falling off at weird times.
--Mind Flay didn't always remove a stack, even if I channeled the whole thing (low damage ability)
--Shadow Word: Death seemed to even though it doesn't do much above 20% health
--Mind Games seemed to take off a stack
And then the last three stacks seem to kinda fall off by themselves, probably because I'm reflecting damage or something.

Tips for this boss, just solod on my 202ilvl boomkin on 3rd try.
layer 3 final boss of twisting cor.
YES it felt impossible to solo on my first try. but make sure you buy all the smoke capsules available.
I used one healing potion but mostly just had passive heal abilities procing from attacks.
if you have ANY PETS, mirror image, elemental, etc Cast them, or send them in AFTER you cast the ((Smoke Capsules)) so its on the edge of the boss, so the boss is not inside the smoke. This gives you a burn window to open.
*GET EMPOWERED JUMPS*
*CAST SMOKE CAPSULE*
*CAST PET*
BURN HIM while your pets are alive and have aggro and youre inside the smoke.
Then be careful about the last bit of the fight, making sure to
JUMP AWAY. STRAFE JUMPING! HE IS SLOW
AND CAN BE KITED IN A BIG CIRCLE. I used entangling roots a few times and it bought me a few seconds but i didnt rely on it. I mostly JUMPED AWAY.
Fight took me about 1 min exactly, i had treants, and convoke down to a 1min cd, and i was able to use convoke twice.
DONT stand on any GREEN SWIRL(ONESHOT)
and KEEP YOUR DISTANCE, throw more smokes as needed.
I dont really understand why they put a boss like this in a solo instance. This isnt a platformer, jumping around in wow is awkward most of the time. But it was literally the only way i could solo him. If I stayed in melee range then no way I'd survive.

HIs bite slams cloth for 130K+.And whoever said "he's slow" is a god damn liar. He can run as fast/faster than a body&soul buff, thereby making it impossible to run from him.
Basically, if you're a cloth wearer and have no immobilization traps/slows, forget it. Once again, GG blizz.

Getting the 6 shield down is roughly perfect to do the long maim stun doing something light then stun, then save all your main hits for right after.. Of course this is after nerf, hadn't encountered this end boss previously on several characters.

Not sure how he was pre nerf, but downed him today on layer 8. 196 Ret pally and a uber buffed Horgul. With this pet plus some very generous buff, he went down in 1:40 seconds flat, 590060 HP.

I wasted a lot of time in Twisting Corridors only to get to this final boss and wipe seven times. As someone else has pointed out, if you're a Havoc DH and you see this boss in the hologram just hearth out, you are NOT going to take this boss down no matter what anima powers you have or w/e tricks you have up your sleeve. It's not happening.
Thanks for the wasted time Blizzard, I will not be trying again.

The Acid Bomb is insta-death, so definitely move when those green circles are on the floor. Easy on floor 6 once you know and avoid this.

Soloed my first time against him as an iLvl 196 Ret Pally 34,900 HP. Did my normal rotations and kept on the run around him avoiding his poison bombs. Used no potions and had 26 anima powers mostly chosen for damage(as much hammer of wrath damage as I could pick). Word of Glory is your friend, I had no potions. I bubbled once towards the end, not sure if I had to, but did for safety and healing. He went down right after that. I don't see a lot of posts for Rets so thought I'd put my 2 cents in for the Rets out there.

Torghast is supposed to be a rogue-like solo-able dungeon. This boss doesn't belong here. Mechanics and cheesing aside, he's way overpowered for this type of dungeon.

Wow thanks Blizzard! You made this literally impossible to solo as an ilvl 180 Assassin Rogue! This guy is literally the absolute WORST kind of enemy to fight as an assa Rogue or probably any Rogue in general. Wanna do a high damage opener? Forget it. This guy has 90% damage reduction, so have fun blowing all your energy to remove those stacks.
Try and kite him with Poisoned Knife? Think again! By the time you get him down to 1-0 stacks of damage reduction, he'll have 2-3 stacks of the damage buff. Great! It's super fair for the boss to be able to bite me for 10k damage when he's at 80% health.
On top of this, you gave the guy a movement speed buff so he basically charges to my location after a set amount of time. It doesn't matter I have chance to heal 15% health on hit and leeching poison when I can get 2 shot for 20k damage after only 45 seconds fighting him.
Want to vanish? He instantly resets health and hits 90% damage reduction again.
Blizzard, do you even play this game? Absolute total waste of my time.

Did this as a 197 Shadow Priest. At layer 3 floor 18 this guy had around 4.2 million health with 9 stacks of dr. First remove his dr with really any ability that works instant cast. I had alot of health buffs to put my health around 170k with almost 90 anima powers and it is very important at the 3rd boss no matter what layer that you have ALOT of health to avoid being one shot. Even with the health I had he was taking about a third of my health with his melee attacks. I never did walk or allow his acid pools to eat me and wasn't curious in the slightest to find out the damage or debuffs on those. For my Shadow priest I had an optical illusion buff from my fade ability that would distract him long enough for about 3 gcds then recast my shield and fade if needed. Ran around and wore him down and never let his damage buffs to climb again. Wasn't too bad but his huge health made it a long fight.

- 181 Havoc DH, Level
freakin
one of Twisting Corridors @ recommended 170 ilvl
Had what I considered to be an absurdly lucky dice roll on powers for this run, even 100k health(!). Did not matter in the slightest.
Was able to get this nightmare to 45% before the 5th bite overwhelms me. Never any further. All of the consume magic & CC in the world is pitifully useless as I claw my way through his stacks and stacks of damage reduction & hardened shell. It's simply too much to ask to dance with this guy for the amount of time required on my own, EVEN with my absurd health bar.
What screams "tuning issue" here is the blistering rate at which I chewed up mobs for 45 minutes, no deaths. Compared to this brick wall of a boss eating all my lives & subsequent run failure.
As a dps DH, I don't get the opportunity for subterfuge. My rotation is "do damage, then do more of the damage". I either steamroll my foe, or die to them.
IMO Decayspeaker is causing enough trouble for multiple classes to argue his current state is problematic at best.
Some classes are simply unable to cope with being their own tank for this boss.

So I just soloed this at level 70 in Dragonflight (Boomkin) and I got Decayspeaker on layer 6 level 18 final boss. I died 3 times before I came here and finally got it, but it was CLOSE. I used entangling roots and mass entanglement ALOT and kept on running as much as possible while still casting Moonfire, Sunfire, Wild Mushroom, Starsurge, and Starfire with Convoke the spirits, Incarnation: Chosen of Elune and Fury of Elune. It was awful and frustrating.
