This guy is laughable in layer 3. he barely melee my pet, and all i do to was dodge balls, ignore the adds and not get hit by his weak knockback.
layer 3, MORT'REGAR.
Killed this guy at the end of my Mort'regar run (layer 3) as an Arms Warrior, ivl 176.
Didn't get incredible Anima powers, usually I take increase damage to Condemn and a lot of defensive stuff.
I managed to kill him on my 2nd try. He doesn't hit hard AT ALL. He casts some Shadow Bolt that can be interrupted or reflected, but it doesn't deal a lot of damage.
The only thing to look after are the mobs the boss will progressively invoke. They have too many HP to be quickly killed, and they cast shadow balls that will follow you around the room, and deal a good amount of damage.
So, just dodge everything and burst the boss!
I'm not sure if it's intended, but the adds in this fight instantly die if they get cc'd. With this knowledge, we were able to finish the boss with zero adds up which completely trivialized the boss.
Kiting the balls around is the only way. There is a small pile of debris that can help block some of the balls as you move around it.
Dude's nothing against a Blood dk. Just avoid the shadow balls and interrupt. He goes down fast.
Demon hunter here. Just consume magic on the adds and it auto-kills them.
As a ivl155 fire mage, this one was actually pretty easy, grab some mirror image powers and blink cooldowns and you'll beat him down fairly quickly. Just dodge his AOE's and avoid the balls flying around and you should be fine.
As a priest,
instatly kills the adds.
Incase any shamans have issues with this, use your elemental. The taunt seems to work as a CC, instantly killing the adds.
for mages: counterspell works to one-shot adds. doesn't make a huge difference, but might help if you have low gear. focus on dodging balls and burning him down in-between.
If you're playing rogue: blind, cheap shot and kidney shot instantly kills the adds. Not killing them just makes it too hard to avoid the balls while staying in melee range with the boss.
Unholy DK, ilvl 169 necrolord.
Managed to get this done on Layer 3 by having 50% extra health from mawrats, abomination limb extension of duration when you spend runes. Kept him in constant abomination limb, adds were pulled in and died as they spawned. My health was going down, had to pop a phantasma health pot.
Being the first time around, i was not aware of the "balls" but i had interrupted at least 2/3 of his shadow bolts.
He was basically trivial as a 171 shadow priest on layer three Mort'regar. I didn't have any of the really cool anima powers with the exception of the one that makes Boon of the Ascended last thirty seconds, so it wore off just before he died, and about 25k damage stored up in the catharstick from level 5 which took a big chunk of his health off right at the start of the fight. Got him in one shot. It was actually kind of a letdown.
BM Hunter - Just ensure you dodge the balls, heal your pet and counter shot the adds when you can to 1 shot them. Pretty trivial compared to the other boss layer 3 had earlier this week
As a shaman, Wind Shear kills the adds. Made the fight relatively trivial as Earth Elemental just tanked the boss.
If you're a blood elf, Arcane Torrent will instantly kill the adds. Same with any hard CC or dispell.
When wings 4 through 6 open on 12/8/2020, the following bosses are buffed:
(With realm restarts) Wing bosses Binder Baritas and Watchers of Death have been made more threatening as they were previously too easy to defeat.
any interrupts or cc will instantly despawn the adds...
did it as a sub rogue on tower lv 6 and 175 ilv:
- burst boss with all you got
- avoid anything he throws
- interrupt adds
- you can use kidney shot or cheap shot to gain a little time on his casts
- cloak of shadows avoids all the magic damages he uses for a short period
- use some pots you buy with phantasm, it will help you live longer
anima powers: if you manage to get the shadowstep epic (400% on finisher after shadowstep) the fight you end up really quick! dont forget it also applies to rupture dot.
Bottled Enigma as a ranged DPS with a pet (Hunter, Lock etc), makes the adds stand there and do nothing. Trivialised the fight completely on layer 8.
Layer 4 as a 170 Marks Hunter. Used a turtle pet. Didn't have great anima powers but I had buffs to traps (reduce their damage, buff mine) and the healing orbs that spawn when you start the fight. Those are really the only ones that came into play.
Do your opening burst rotation until the first add comes up.
Interrupt the add with either Counter Shot or Freezing Trap, then alternate every time it spawns an add. (or any other stun you might have, those two cooldown fast enough to be always up for the adds).
Once you've interrupted the add, run. Get out of the purple $%^&. When it stops spawning (after I think three), burst the boss until the next add.
Spam Mend Pet.
Repeat until the boss is dead.
I still took lots of damage during the fight; but appropriate management of things like Exhilaration, Survival of the Fittest, Aspect of the Turtle (best if you need to res your pet), and healing pots can stave off the damage.
Tried on layer 8 now, solo frost mage 195 ilvl. yeah, I do not recommend it. xD
You either interrupt the adds or his shadow bolts.
I didn't stop moving for a second to avoid the orbs, but the "Soul Echoes" hit everyone within 60 yds, kinda impossible not to get hit by those all the time, and it was 5k+ damage every time :(
Binder Baritas Soul Echoes hit You 964 Shadow. (4,317 Absorbed)
Binder Baritas Soul Echoes hit You 5,303 Shadow.
Your Run Without Tiring healed You 1,692 Nature.
Your Run Without Tiring healed You 1,693 Nature.
Binder Baritas Shadow Bolt hit You 8,464 Shadow. (711 Absorbed)
Binder Baritas Soul Echoes hit You 5,750 Shadow.
Binder Baritas Soul Echoes hit You 1,011 Shadow. (4,584 Overkill)
didn't have many OP powers, had the smort mirror images but they got toasted pretty quickly, don't think I reached 50% haha
Just completed this on a layer8 as a 192ilvl BM hunter.
Pretty easy tbh, just interrupt/stun the single add he spawns to insta kill it, and dodge the 'soul echo' purple swirlies (they 1shot you). Otherwise just pop all cd's and burst him down.
I did have the bottled enigma anima power on, so that may have made a difference regarding 'soul echoes'.
Has anyone faced this boss on floor 18 of Twisting Corridor? Is he bugged or is Soul Echoes suppose to hit you instantly even though you are moving around?
Just downed this boss on layer 7 of Mort'regar as a 193 Sub Rogue in PvP gear, trinkets and all. I nuked him, the fight lasted 15 seconds total.
Went for strong opening anima powers and also got lucky with the bottled enigma but didn't actually need it thankfully.
I ran into this guy on floor 12 of twisting corridors, layer 1 . He has 816k hp and his melee hits for like 9k and the soul echoes hit for 5-10k each. I see this as impossible as arms warrior with 173 ilvl. I've cleared layer 8 on most of these instances, and not had this much difficulty with any of the final bosses. I read things here like cc insta kills adds, so does interrupt. NOTHIING I have insta kills these adds. I avoided balls but this keeps me out of melee range, and he has alot of hp, and i can't stay in melee range long enough to do enough damage to kill him. Even avoiding all the balls, the damage this boss does is insane, this was layer 1, not layer 7 or 8, and I was getting hit by soul echoes even avoiding the purple swirls. There were no debuffs in this instance either. I got him down to about 40%. I've killed this guy in Mort'regar layer 5 without taking this kind of damage. I was a little surprised by this, being layer 1 and all the other mobs in here were extremely weak. I'd try again, but really don't care anymore, i just wasted 2 hours on this.
Just failed this as a Prot Paladin on layer 8 floor 18.
Didnt figure it out until it was to late.
He spawn some adds, you can easily one shot those with
is enough since its like 20 sec between the adds to spawn.
Other then his normal attack that you just have to move to avoid he spawns some purple orbs that will one shot you.
As far as i could tell they just sit in place so you just have to avoid them and not run in to them like i did.
As solo guardian druid 180 ilvl and decent anima powers on floor 6 of level 8 - had one death. Key, as others have mentioned, is focus on CCing the adds. Skull
bash, wild charge while berzerk thrashing, mangling and moonfiring the heck out of Binder. Second time I thought I had it pretty well in hand but even so, I killed him with only 1% health left and all powers and pots on CD.
Just met this guy on 18th floor, layer 3, twisting corridors. Ilvl 195 bear druid with 101 anima powers. I gave up nuking the adds who threw balls at a regularly interval. My dps was way too low as they appeared much faster than I could down them.
But I just kept avoiding the spheres which is easy as they move really slow despite there are lots of them at the end of the fight. Ordinary fight where I even forgot to use my health spheres scattered around the platform, selfhealing, and mitigating.
Very fun boss once you know how you can "control" the spheres by moving around and use the platform at your advantage. :) The boss doesn't hit hard.
Very important: This is
a fast-paced fight/dps check. This is a
fight with a lot of movement!
If anyone is dying to Death Orbs without an understanding why, it might be this:
I recall this dude making adds that channel Mind Flay that you had to kill quickly or they piled up, so my Warrior was charging to the new adds to stop their channels from killing me. They spawn a Death Orb at their location (no cast time) which will one-shot you.
Solution: Don't kill the adds, just kite the boss away from them and dodge the orbs when they spawn, tunnel the boss until he dies and back-up out of the zone slowly to ditch the (stationary) adds. Super easy so long as you don't get in melee with the adds, where Orbs kill you.
Couldn't do this guy as the worst spec in the game for Torghast now, Sub rogue. The problem was that the Mort'egar zone is so badly designed, I had several of the layers as the islands that you have to portal to (or rope to). There were so many mobs packed together that no way I could do them, so had to skip a ton. Also killed me several times, but I don't think the extra lives would have mattered.
I'm really over this game...
As a BM Monk I found it the easiest to kite the adds and avoid the orbs. The adds were 41k health, so it was just too slow killing them off.
This boss absolutely RUINED Torghast for me permantly. Layer 18, Prot pally, 8 lives - 477K health and perfect anima powers. Cant avoid and interrupt all adds and soul echoes or orb are one shot kills. Must just do 100% damage, regardless of how much health you have. ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE DESIGN AND TUNING BLIZZARD. EPIC FAIL.
Managed to kill it on level 18 as a destruct lock
What a pain, this boss is F... up
BM hunter, got this one on layer 1. Hp 2.58m and impossible to get away from aoe without taking massive damage despite being on the move the entire time - damage and pet healing would've been fine, just too slow on regular running speed. Got to meet Tarragrue, fun times. In retrospect I probably would've been better off choosing the Trailblazer talent (30 % movement speed), but went over healing instead. Oh well.
Just tried this on Layer 1, floor 12 as a 198 Fury warrior (last boss). What a cancerous fight.
Keep getting hit by the Echoes which hit for 7k each.
When the boss reaches around 30% i get 7-8k melee hits and i'm unable to get him down before he rapes me.
Wasted 1,5 hour of clearing all the floors. How nice is that.
If you are meeting him on floor 18, his Soul Echo is way more murderous than on lower layers. All three blasts will hit everyone within 60 yards so running away from the swirlies does not save you
. Standing in the swirlies propably murders you some extra - I'm not sure, was too busy not dying to notice. :F
You might avoid maybe one of the three by running across the platform at the start of the cast, or by CC'ing boss at the start of that uninterruptable 6 second channeling. After 3 minutes of fighting those blasts will deal around 40k dmg each (to solo cloth user running on layer 2).
So this ability seems intentionally tuned up for the sake of it being the floor 18... So pray that your class has some anima powers available that can deal with Baritas spesifically either way (dmg reduction, shielding, moving while casting, numerous CC's...), and you happened to choose those when they were offered.
Just f***ed him in 18 sec as a warrior tank without any BL - Twisted Corridor - Layer 6 - Floor 18.
barely any survivality anima power
(105k hp at floor 18), just
*3 for auto-heal. Instead i took
all critical chances and critical damages i could
(100% crit chance and 72% critical damages more:
+ ...) = i didn't even have a non critical hit in the whole fight.
*3 for a nice 190% damage bonus for 6 sec +
for a duration of
up to 47 seconds.
My four main damage abilities were the following:
, 10% of damage, buffed with
, 10% of the damages, buffed with:
to cast a
, 17% of damages, which will trigger absolutely every time we strike thanks to the 100% crit chance.
, 30% of damages, buffed with
for a 100% damage increase.
I had a bunch of little offensive powers that did the rest of the damage (
I didn't even have to manage his skills, i just zerged him.
Here are the record of the fight and the warcraftlog for more information:
I was doing torghast fine until I meet this guy at floor 18...his "Soul echoes" it's still unavoiadable no matter what i do (tried going very far back and sprinting like crazy...nothing) tried looking for answers online and nobody seems to have an answer, lost about 1 hour, safe to say i'm not doing torghast ever again...
300 ilvl outlaw rogue, stun his soul channel thing (not the add spawn) and he's pretty easy.
