Not a complete strategy guide, just a comment about a specific strategy debate over him - how the Sons of Hakkar should be dealt with. To get the sons onto the platform for the poison bath, some groups pull them early at the beginning of the fight and subsequently right after Hakkar blood drains and sheep them until the poison bath is needed. Some groups pull them around 45-50 seconds before they predict Hakkar would drain blood next, and kill them the moment they arrive and bathe in the poison cloud.
After leading two raids with multiple wipes against him, I've found that pulling and killing immediately works better than pulling, sheeping first, and then killing. Even if people end up bathing in poison a little earlier, it's more worth it than losing the DPS of the hunter who spends time on the pull, and the mage who spends time on the sheep.

My guild has found that pulling a Son of Hakkar 45 seconds before he Drains is best. CT Raid Assist calls out the 45 second warning for you, so it's not very hard to time. Just pull to the platform, kill, bathe, rinse and repeat. Not that hard of a fight in all seriousness.
Also, try to spread out along the area when it's not time to go bathe in the poison cloud. Corrupted Blood is a serious mana drain for healers.

If a guild has an abundant amount of mages, use the sheeping method.
If a guild only has a smattering of mages (1, 2 or 3) then use the method where the Hunter pulls when it's time to kill the Son. Reason being is because some of the mages will have to focus on sheeping the tank who gets mind controlled.
Don't forget to have your tanks blow their shouts (war stomp too if on Horde side).

When my guild used to farm Hakkar we would pull sons at the 45 second mark & kill them immediately. Typically the time until the first life drain would go like this:
1. 2 tanks go in & gain aggro while trying to burn their shouts.
2. DPS would start after the first mind control.
3. Pull a son at 45 seconds until life drain.
4. Kill the son immediately (regardless of how many mages) which would take the DPS away from Hakkar for a few moments letting the tanks get farther ahead in threat (which is nice since they get mind controlled and can get behind on aggro). The damage caused by the Sons poison is negligible since DPSers should be bandaging after the life drain.
5, DPS more until the life drain.
6. Rinse & Repeat.
Coming from a hunters perspective I would sometimes drop an Ice Trap at the top of the steps I knew I would be pulling the son up. That way if I was DPSing & I noticed the son that I needed pat by before the 45 second mark I would just pull him up into the trap. If you do this you just have to make sure the trap is far from anywhere the tanks could run while MC'd.

The easiest way to handle Hakkar is to buff the crap out of a Hunter's pet (preferably Beastmastery Spec) and have the pet MT Hakkar for the duration of the fight. Hakkar's mind control only targets the player highest on the threat meter but pets are immune to it. As long as the pet has aggro, Hakkar will not be able to Mind Control anyone. Also, pets are not targetted by Hakkar's Blood Drain so even the tanks can break away from Hakkar to dip in the poison. Just make sure that while everyone's hurrying to get in the poison you've still got healers keeping the pet up.

I highly doubt a Hunter could solo him, without killing his Priests he has additional abilities other than the life drain, plus he has so much HP the Hunter would go OOM long before Hakkar died.

To clear up confusion about him being called "The faceless one", it's just a title. I see people constantly spreading rumors and crackpot theories that he is related to the faceless ones seen in Azol'Nerub. He isn't. "Faceless one" is a title referring to the fact that no one (other than the high priests) ever see him face-to-face....and lives at least. He looks nothing like the faceless ones, which are presumably just servants of an old god. (as a side note, the thing Arthas killed in Azol'Nerub was C'thun's copy kept there to rule the Nerubians while he was gone, not another, separate old god.) Hope this clears that up.

Interesting trivia: When originally introduced, Hakkar's "Corrupted Blood" debuff could be transported outside of ZG via a hunter's pet. Here's a video that shows how Ironforge is annihilated by a character who has Corrupted Blood:

Beware if You dont kill the High Priest / Priestess following will happen:
-High Priestess Jeklik(Bat Aspect) - 1200-2000 AoE damage + 8s silence.
-High Priest Venoxis(Snake Aspect) - 800 damage poison to the raid.
-High Priestess Mar'li(Spider Aspect) - 6 second stun against current aggro holder.
-High Priest Thekal(Tiger Aspect) - Frenzy, increasing attack speed by 150%.
-High Priestess Arlokk(Panther Aspect) - 2 second gouge (aggro wipes the main tank)
If he got any of these buff, Hakkar becomes way stronger and almost impossible to kill

It is not Hakkar, but
Bloodlord Mandokir
, one of the optional bosses who becomes stronger when he kills a given number of players (3 or 5, or something like that). Then he may shout "Ding!", to which
Jin'do the Hexxer
may reply with "Grats!".

When he first had 'Corrupted Blood' it got out of the dungeon in 2005, I've been playing since then, and hiding in the empty Stormwind buildings from the people with the curse was pretty damn fun! That was, until you foolishly went outside to buy some firewood from a vendor, and a stupid level 70 runs past and you catch it..
And then you gotta wait until it goes, healing yourself every few seconds..
But at least it only lasted a couple of days! Blizz obv hadn't thought about it getting out via pets :)
But it was uber pwnage, all the lowbies got instantly killed (e.g. me)
I wish Blizz could release it again seeing as I'm level 70! It'd be like
YAAAAA!
Ahh.. '05 was cool..

For people going to solo Hakkar, if you don't kill Arlokk he will gouge you and reset. If you are going to duo he can MC one player and gouge the other and reset. Best to make sure Arlokk is dead.

Just got through soloing him as a feral druid. Took me about 5 tries, but here's what I did:
Killing all 5 priests is an absolute must if you are going to beat the enrage timer. Of the 5 attempts I tried on him, he enraged in all of them (you will only live 10-20 seconds once he enrages).
Stay in bear the whole time. Just use all of your cooldowns whenever they are up (saving survival instincts and frenzied regeneration until you are low). Whenever I went cat I noticed my overall dps would drop because of the time it took to heal myself up after taking so much damage in cat.
Don't worry about the sons or the poison, they will just slow your dps down a lot.
I'm currently in all of the best heroic gear available, plus T7 chest, T7.5 shoulders, and the tanking staff from Grobbulus (heroic). I did an average of 1260 DPS during the fight so make sure you can do about the same, or you're gonna die to enrage.
Good luck, you'll need it.

My 80 Blood Death Knight with 57/5/9 build (some tanking talents & dps) managed to solo him with Quest/AH tanking gear, 507 defense, 20k hp. Though i did need to use my DPS trinkets and even then it was quite close, only 30 seconds to enrage.
- I used Blood Presence and he didn't hit very hard, nothing that Death Strike & Rune Tap cant heal.
- You must use hysteria & ap trinkets and summon DRW when you've capped your RP's (or dont it's up to you) or just spam Death Coil when Sudden Doom procs.
- Dont forget to spam Rune Strike when you can.
Before you go you should try your dps with the boss test dummy in ebon hold you'll need at least 1260 (more is better).
I defeated all the bosses with this build and with my blue gear. Jeklik was the hardest for me, not even the Mortal Striking bosses weren't that hard because Vampiric Blood can counter the effects of MS.
Tiger was actually simple enough because of my extra healing abilities and because of VB. I tried him many times as unholy and couldn't do it because i'm not Defense Capped.
Raptor, well, he wasn't hard, like two-man tiger version with more health.

I've been with friends today in ZG and we've downed all the boss. We were : prot warrior, Rogue and BM Hunter (me). Thus, no real heal.
We've tried many things to manage Hakkar with our warrior tanking him but he was MC'd and he killed the rogue and me easily. Eventually, I've tried to put some traps but he resisted them too often and killed me afterwards.
Then, we've tried something different. Since Hakkar MC the tank, the one with the most aggro, what if my pet has the aggro, will Hakkar MC my lovely Schrödinger ?
Of course not, my pet is a loyal one !
We had the rogue and me misdirect on my pet so he could keep the aggro and he has never lost aggro :-) The only problem here is to have the prot warrior manage not to take the aggro back, he was MC'd once but it wasn't a real problem.
To heal your pet, just put a mend pet. With improved mend pet talent and spirit bond, the healing will be enough. Alternatively, you can also use the imba 2 pieces bonus from the T5 set. Remember to put a mend pet just before Hakkar drains your life, this way, your pet will always get all its life back.

Easily soloable as a DK. Solod ZG with mostly blues and an unholy dps build.
One big hint for Hakkar:
-> Don't have out your ghoul, he mindcontrols it and resets the fight.
-> Don't call your gargoyle, another fight reset.
For all fights:
-> Get the glyph of Death Strike. The extra healing is just godly.
-> Didn't come out of Frost stance.
-> I used a mix of some dps and tank items to be sure I had enough hp.
-> Doable with Blood spec (see above) but certainly also with Unholy, no rune tap needed. And unholy blight does come in use for a few fights.

If you want any change of soloing Hakkar you must kill all of the High Priests. Hakkar loses health & abilities after each kill, some of them include stun, gouge, berserk, silence, poison. Thekal, Arlokk, Jeklik, Mar'li must be killed, AT LEAST but it's alot safer to kill Venoxis too (the poison is nasty).
Seems like you didnt kill any priests because of the health pool on hakkar, he has around 719k when all are dead.

Tried and Failed, T7 prot pally (10 man stuff)
I can't solo the tiger boss (unlucky me), but his AoE silence from the Tiger boss being up isn't a really big issue. It ticks for ~550. I kept shadow res aura up, since it seemed to help with the 'random' 200 damage DoT he throws on people.
He's a joke for the first 10 minutes, SoL + JoL kept me up easily, the enrages from keeping the tiger boss up = mana from BoSanct.
9 minutes and 30 seconds into the fight, I had gotten him down to 74%. I watched "Berserk in 30 seconds" come up. I laughed and thought to myself, "He's a joke now, how much harder could it make him?" I was DEAD wrong...
So he berserks (Hakkar goes into a berserker rage), and I'm like "bring it on"... Oh I wished I could take back my words -- He was hitting me and my t7 ass for about 4k a pop. Needless to say I didn't live for much longer after that.
CURSE YOU, berserk timers, always ruining my fun -_-

He's a joke to solo as a ret pally. JoL + command and just pound away. If your gear sucks, swap to a shield then R1/R2 shield bash for good damage while mitting his attacks. Otherwise just pop all your CDs as they come up. Obviously kill priests first, etc etc.

Downed him yesterday with an 80 feral druid, an 80 combat rogue, an 80 ffb mage, a 77 holy pally, and a 71 destruction warlock. We just had the druid and the rouge tanking. When one of them got mind controlled, the other would take over, and the mage would just freeze or stun (with blast wave) the mind controlled person and the dps would continue. He only used his drain health twice, and we were all able to get poisoned in time. Overall, and easy fight, we got him down in 4-5 minutes.

Soloed (with buffs) by 80 Prot Warrior, 28591 HP unbuffed, 541 Defense, 62% Dodge+Parry+Block. (All epic except for 1 ring and 2 trinkets.) Was a very fun fight.
Used one Major Healing Potion (was being cheap), 4
Charged Crystal Focus
, had Improved Fortitude and 10% Kings for 33151 buffed HP, and Shadow Protection. Charged Crystal Focus does not share the potion cooldown, which is awesome and made all the difference. No elixirs, flasks, or stat food (forgot to eat it).
A combo that works well is Commanding Shout, then Last Stand, Shield Block, and Enraged Regeneration, then Shield Wall. You will heal 30% of a huge max life total. After Last Stand fades you'll lose some of it, but the key is that while your max HP is high, Hakkar hits you for a significantly smaller % of your life, and when your max HP goes to normal he'll only have done a fraction of the damage he normally would have. And the more damage you prevent (e.g. by Shield Block), the more you keep when Last Stand fades. Conversely don't use a health potion while your max life is increased because it won't heal you for as great a % as it normally would. Don't use this combo unless you've already taken 30% damage or you'll overheal and waste it, but don't wait too long to use it either because ideally you want to use Enraged Regeneration 3 times during the fight.
Some stats: Combat length 9 min, 24 seconds. My DPS = 1440, Hakkar's DPS = 100. 65% of Hakkar's damage was from Corrupted Blood (which is Shadow), 35% melee. I did 45.5k healing, Hakkar did 56.3k damage. The most siginifcant buff I had might have been Shadow Protection, which was kind of a surprise.

Very, very easy to solo as DPS Blood Death Knight(
51/13/7
).I don't think he managed to get me bellow 80%.I killed all High Priests(and Bloodlord & Hexxer) except
High Priestess Mar'li
(She is impossible for me to solo because of those nasty adds). You must kill
High Priestess Arlokk
because then Hakkar will lose
Aspect of Arlokk
which will reset the fight as it stuns you for 2 sec. and has 2 more effects:
Effect #1 Apply Aura: Stun
Effect #2 Apply Aura: Mod Stealth
Value: 1000
Effect #3 Sanctuary
It wipes your threat and makes you untargetable for 1-2sec.I also suggest killing as much High Priests as you can because it will greatly reduce Hakkars health and damage done(and also removing special attacks which could be deadly if used in short period one after another!)

Just defeated him with three players. One level 80 enhancement shaman, one level 80 resto druid, and one level 76 warlock. The warlock was demonology and simply put his pet into range to tank it. The druid obviously healed the pet. The shaman didn't go into melee range and instead stood back and shot lightning bolts, did flame shock; following lava burst. The shaman not being elemental had plenty of mana issues due to lack of talents that would help be mana effective. Although it was easily made up when the warlock would pull the sons of hakkar for the blood debuff with a quick shamanistic rage kill.

An important thing for tanking DKs to remember is mix some DPS gear in there and fight him in blood with all the aspects down.
When I first did it I was like man he hits like a girl I can do this all day long. Then he went enraged and started hitting me for 4.5k in frost presence.
I offed the last 2 aspects and fought him in blood and I still hit the enrage timer but with Icebound Fort and Lichbourne I didn't take any hits and knocked his last 5k or so off for the win. Quite fun.
Or you could make it easy on you and respec/gear dps and it would be much easier.

No problem at all as a feral druid - I healed up if I needed to directly after a drain. Made sure I pulled out everything I could - faerie fire, constant lacerate stacks etc to make sure he went down before enrage - even if he does enrage it's quite possible to stay up long enough to finish him off.with halfway respectable gear.

I tanked him in frost presence and when he mind controlled me I killed all of the lower leveled guys quite fast,so you might want to advise them to burn all their cooldowns at the start cause they will die.Not sure if they suffer durability loss though.
Other than that an easy fight and it was an easy fight and the WTFs of people getting two shotted did make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

评论来自

Definitely doable solo (feral druid). Originally intended to kill him with a friend (ret paladin); we'd killed all the priests before hand, but the MC just made it impossible to do anything. We decided I'd kill him first, and come back after the next reset so she'd get her chance at Hakkar.
This alt is still in mostly quest blues and the heroic VH staff, nothing fantastic. With buffs and BoK just 27k health. The fight itself is essentially a tank and spank. Keep Lacerate stacked, use Barkskin, Frenzied Regen, etc when you've got em. You know all that, so this isn't why I'm typing..
-----
His Blood Siphon sucks. Literally. It's a life drain. :) You're incapacitated for 8 seconds while he drains you and regains health.
However, he won't be able to successfully cast it if you're moving.
So, the easiest way to work around this is to constantly move backwards. Work your way around the platform in reverse. When he does attempt to cast it, you'll notice he stands still. This will give you a little under 8 seconds to pop out and cast a couple heals on yourself before shifting back to bear.
I probably only did 1500-1600 dps, partly due to my +hit being low and he being a boss ? level. Still finished him off in plenty of time - didn't even see the Enrage warning in 30 seconds. Fun fight and beautiful zone.

Solod as a 21/0/50 unholy pvp specc in tank gear , was quite easy , kept the tiger boss alive , just cause he's "harder" (solod him after i killed hakar though , tricky !)
the one aspect didnt realy make it harder...
here's a few pointers to do this succesfully :
-Kill all the priests first (forget jin'do and the fishing boss ,they dont help) , they lower the amount of abilities hakkar has.
-If you have pets , DISMISS THEM ! they or you will get mindcontrolled and kill the other - with a possible reset of the boss.
-There's no need for special buffs, dont spend your hard money on em.
-Raise ghoul + death pact is a win for this
-Dont bother with the wind serpent debuffs , he only gets healed for about 5k'ish each time he drains, and is lowered bye using defensive abilities (shield wall , anti-m shield,IBF, ect..)
Good luck :)

Intersting fact: Hakkar will turn one player into her ally. If all other raid members happen to die and you are turned into her ally this will cause a complete reset in Aggro which will reset Hakkar to full HP and mana.

His berserk adds damage to his corrupted blood which really is the only thing bad about his enrage timer. It causes corrupted blood to hit for 5 times more than what it so it ticks for 1k and does a base damage around 4k basically impossible to heal yourself through even with a bloodthirst tank spec or having heals so unless you can down him before the enrage you won't be able to kill hakkar solo.

Got Hakkar down to 71k before I died during his berserk. The fight is rather long and boring for the most part as a Unholy DK tank. It was very easy up until the end even though my DK is merely an alt that has the crafted tanking piece with rep rewards and quest rewards as well. I guess things when bad when I made the comment that Onyxia was alt harder than Hakkar will ever be to solo...

Solo'd as an Unholy tank. You cannot have any pets out for this fight.
Best word of advice I can give is to mix in DPS gear, and do not attempt this fight with full tank gear. I wiped 4 times and I was getting him to around 70k before he enraged. I dropped most of my tank gear in favor of my meager dps gear consisting of quest and dungeon blues with a few epic pieces. Made a world of difference. I downed him with a minute to go before he enraged. I suspect if I had done the fight in Blood Presence it would have been even easier.
The only tank pieces I kept equipped had expertise on them, which kept me soft capped so Hakkar could not dodge.

He might seem powerful, and he actually is. He hits incredibly fast and deals 1k atleast on each strike. HE is nearly unbeatable. BUT!
Should you kill all of his priests before the encounter he weakens. Then he is actually able to 4man. And even less. I am a Feral tank and i lost 7k During the encounter, and i have 29k total.

I thought I would share my experience of soloing Hakkar as a level 80 protection paladin.
At first I didn't think I could do it - Hakkar would enrage at around 25% and I was having mana problems. I read that you need to do around 1200 DPS to succeed.
My spec was 5/56/10, with glyphs for 10% more judgement damage, 100% mana reduction for Hammer of Wrath and 100% damage increase on Avenger's Shield.
I used strength/stamina food, a strength elixir and a health elixir.
My gear was a mix of T7.5 protection, one bit of T7.5 retribution, random blue DPS belt/wrist and the Sons of Hodir reputation axe, two DPS trinkets.
Advice from other posts that helped were :
1) Circling Hakkar constantly stops his life tap from affecting you. Avoiding it really helps keep your DPS up.
2) Pull some weak mobs up with you to get more mana back from BoSanc. Crocodiles are good for this but avoid panthers - they have a small stun! Be careful not to AoE too much and don't use Holy Shield or you will eventually kill the adds. Having the extra mana means you can use your Avenger's Shield a lot more and keep Sacred Shield up too.
3) Use Wings every cooldown! And try to make sure you can get off all your DPS tools during it.
I managed to beat the Enrage timer and had about 1 minute to spare at the end.

Soloing ZG as Retribution Paladin: Hakkar
This is a boss that, strange as it may seem at first, is easier to solo than to do 2-man, due to the nasty mindcontrol he does.
Some tips to solo him:
1.Always cast instant FoL when it's available
2.If you go below 50% health (and you will !), cast a Holy Light and immediately Divine plea to regain mana. Never allow him to get you to less than 10k health or you can find yourself in serious trouble.
3.Keep judging Wisdom, so you never drop below 2k mana. Conserve it a bit because you'll
need
to cast HL at times.
4.Use your cd's (bubble, LoH) at strategic points during the fight (i.e. emergencies only!)
5.Since he enrages after 10mins, you must keep a high dps on him. Don't forget to use your wings whenever they're available.
My best time on him was 9 minutes. But it took me many tries to reach there, so be patient if you wipe, it's a doable fight for us retris to solo.
Oh and another trick i found out: If at some point you find yourself overwhelmed by him (or, as one time happened to me, he was joined by a patrol I had forgotten about), you can safely bubble and jump down of his platform into the river below, he won't follow you and you'll save yourself the long walk from the GY.
My spell setup: Bl.of W, SoC, JoW (only at times needed I used JoL), no consecrations at all.
My gear: Naxx10 equivalent.

Soloed as a Holy Paladin, had help getting all of the other bosses down with a friend, but it was impossible to down Hakkar with two people, so we decided that I would get him this save.
Tips on Soloing as a Holy Paladin, some of this may apply to Prot Paladins too.
1. Keep up any combination of seals / judgements you like. the one that worked for me was Sacred shield, Seal of Righteousness, Judgement of Light, Retribution aura (for maximum damage).
2. You will not take much damage throughout this encounter, so it is imperative that you deal as much damage as possible, bringing along a dps trinket or some dps gear may even help, although it is not necessary. You can ditch your mace and shield for a good 2h Weapon, although again, this is not necessary.
3. Hakkar does hardly any damage if you keep up healing judgement and sacred shield, and you will not need to heal often, unless he does a large spike of damage.
4. In order to get around his Life drain ability, you should always be moving.
5. And finally, do not be afraid to pop all cooldowns, give him everything youve got, drain all of your mana. If you do not make the enrage timer, it is still possible to kill him, although a lot harder. Hakkar had 40k Health left when he reached the enrage timer for me, and if this happens, pop all healing cooldowns, divine shield, and attempt to get some damage out whenever possible.
6. Good luck =D

Solo'd as an 80 Prot Warrior (mostly 213 epics, a few 200 epics, and one blue trinket as explained below).
1.) Keep Thunderclap up at all times.
2.) Keep Demo Shout up at all times.
3.) Keep Commanding Shout up at all times.
4.) Use Shield Block every time it's up.
5.) Use Last Stand + Enraged Regeneration every time it's up once you are under 70% HP.
6.) Use Shield Wall every time it's up.
7.) Use any equipped trinkets any time they're up.
Other bonuses that aren't class-specific:
1.) I used Dragonfin Fillet for +40 Str/Stm.
2.) As an Herbalist, I used Lifeblood every time it was up, once I lost my first 2k HP.
3.) As an Alchemist, I kept my Indestructable Alchemist's Stone equipped, and popped a Runic Healing Potion partway through the fight.

Soloed as an 80 DK in mainly iLvl 200 gear, though I'm sure you could do with much less. Unholy spec is best for this encounter because of the longer durations of your diseases which of course gives you more time to use
Death Strike
. Use your ghoul ONLY to heal with in an emergency. If you leave your ghoul out for too long, he will mind control you or it. Being a tank or DPS for the encounter doesn't matter as long as you can outlast him.
Only one point in the fight I got below 50% health. Refreshed my diseases and Death Striked to full health. Ended with about 95% health. I did have an 80 shaman with me when we attempted to duo him. Wiped a few times till we decided to solo him.
All in all, a fun encounter, but even at 80 not a walk in the park.

easily soloed as enhancement shaman with t7,5 gear (u can do it with lower level gear also ;))
Tips during the fight
1) Dont summon your spirit wolves nor your fire/earth elemental. You need to be alone or Hakkar will use MC and then kill your pet's and reset
2) Use your malestorm procs to heal
3)dont clear the poison off you it wont kill you
Good luck the easyest boss to solo as enh shaman in whole ZG

26/05/2009, soloed by my 80 level BM hunter with a gorilla pet + 2 tier5 items. The MC doesnt hapen cause the pet tanks him, and pet is immune. The blood drain only heals him for 1k hp - ha! With killing all the priests, this fight is *!@# easy. Didn't even have to use elixirs and pots.
I d even try killing him with priests up later, with only killing the panther one - gouging the pet would lead to MC.

Killed Hakkar today about 15 secs after he Zerker Raged. Had to pop a Heal trinket, Shield wall, pot and enraged Regen. However during the fight I did not need to use any of these.
I'm a lvl 80 Warrior. I used a 37/31/3 spec.
Bloodthirst
with Glyph of Bloodthirst
for heals.
Unrelenting assault
so I can spam Revenge
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=57823
this allows me to do the DPS required to kill him.
I strafe back and forward to avoid Blood siphon.
I bring a Son of Hakkar

Quite easy, Bat boss is much harder.

Did this as today MM hunter in naxx gear with a holy pally in some naxx and ulduar gear after trying for mounts.
Dropping all the priests is recommend to avoid anything happening. The trick is to make sure that your pet has aggro all the time. No MC on the pet, just a quick tank and spank with pet having aggro the entire fight.
Don't have to worry about anything special, as the blood siphon does little to restore his health, nothing you can't drop in one shot or less. He should go down fairly quickly, with no problems at all

I've just solo'd Hakkar on my Unholy Deathknight and I can give a few tips to any other deathknights trying to kill him alone:
Firstly, use any high survivability gear you have if you're not confident that you can survive the damage. It's not alot, but if you're frost, for example, your self healing isn't quite as huge as the other two specs. Also use frost presence for the extra armor, health and all round survivability.
Secondly, use death strike for health whenever you can, if you're unholy forget Scourge Strike unless you're on 100% health. If your gear isn't full greens you can beat the enrage timer easily using only blood strike, death strike and death coil.
Thirdly, do -NOT- use gargoyle, or your ghoul. Both count as pets and both will allow him to mind control you, if he does this and kills your pet he'll reset to 100% health and you'll have to start over.
Lastly, moving around him in a circle, as in previous comments was mentioned, does stop him from using you to heal him. It also however stuns him for the full 5 seconds or so it's being cast, thus it's a good time to dish out some damage with Scourge Strike rather than Death Strike. However the amount of health it actulay gives him is tiny compared to the damage you'll be doing if your gear is any good, thus if you find it hard to play while running in circles, don't bother. Just keep your health up and have fun.

Yep, I couldn't agree more with those who say this is ridiculously easy (retribution paladin, Ulduar 25 geared), ... if you kill the other bosses first. No MC, no gauge, nothing. Just a silly attack that deals you 200 damage every sec and gives 1K health to him in return. Just keep your Sacred Shield up and everything is easy again. :) One thing to beware of though: the guys patrolling the building, don't fight them, they hurt. Just find a way past them and get to the top. Tank him exactly where he stands and you'll be perfectly safe from any incoming patrol. :)

I just solo'd him tonight as an 80 prot pally.
I
DID NOT KILL
Jeklik as I couldn't interrupt all of the heals, and was to lazy to wait to drain her mana to kill her. After easily doing all the other priests, I thought I would give Hakkar a try. I also skipped the moving patrols on the tower, and tanked him with myself just standing inside the door of the hut like building on his tower, behind where he is at the start other wise the patrol can and will agro onto you
The keys to the fight were:
1: Keep moving! There is a good chance you wont get hit by the life drain; although it only heals him for about 8k it can be the difference in the enrage or not. I found jumping side to side was the most affective way to deal with this
2: Throw everything at him, in retrospect I could have made it easier by giving myself kings, or might but at the same time the mana would have been an issue. I choose to keep sanc up and use SoV rotating between JoW/L when was needed.
That was really all. The silence he gains from leaving Jeklik up was not a problem, and although it hampers dps, it is only 4-5 seconds and does not occur terribly often.
I did 1316 dps on the fight, and he enraged with about 8000hp left, I popped all my cooldowns, but didnt get hit for any damage and he died very shortly after.
This is very easy, and I did get caught in two life drains, so had that not have happened I wouldnt have even met the enrage timer.
To all of those who are saying it is "Impossible to solo this boss with a priest still alive" it is totally not true!
Good Luck with this fight, it is more of a test of your dps abilities, as well as you competency to move and do as much dps as possible

I've solo'ed this instance full including Hakkar for the past few months ranging from entry level gear (Naxx/Heroics) to Ulduar/TOC gear.
Never had any problems, specially now that I can kill him in less than 5 minutes.
My only advice to those trying Hakkar is to kill all of the aspects.
Don't get *!@#y.
Once you're decently geared you can leave some aspects up just for kicks or to make it more challenging.
However, whatever you do, never leave the Panther boss up, ever.
Doing so will give Hakkar the ability to "Vanish" or Stealth in some way (I am not sure what it is) but when he attempts to use it, he simply leashes and "Evades"; which heals him back to full.
Spider boss gives him a stun (5 second duration) and other bosses give him similar things, but they're all silly against Lv 80's in mid to end content gear.

Solod as an Enhancement shaman
took me a while to figure it out due to the following reasons:
1. dropping stoneclaw (if u glyphed for stoneclaw to absorb dmg) would cause him to mind control you which resets him
2. using wolves or elementals will result in you being mind controlled and depending on your luck (e.g. killing your elemental or it just so happened to expire before your mind control is up) you will reset him.
Solution:
Don't use stoneclaw, wolves, or elementals...simply stormstrike when you cane, lava lash when you can and keep water shield up. You simply try to proc maelstrom to 5 charges and healing wave when you need to (which was every time I had 5 charges, but it may not be for you). If you find yourself in trouble then shamanistic rage to reduce the dmg intake and hopefully it'll be enough for you to get your 5 procs to heal. Other than that it's really just time consuming. Have fun and goodluck!
edit: basically any totem that causes aggro will result in a mind control so what I used was str, wf, ft, and cleansing (which mana would probably not pull aggro, not sure)

Solo'd as an 80 Warrior with a weid fury-prot spec (for the purpose of solo'ing raptor boss initially, then I went for the rest of ZG).
For Hakkar I actually had to switch into some more DPS gear because of the enrage timer. My first attempt I got him to 12% then enrage owned me, second attempt I would've had it but used my Bubbling Brightbrew Charm (DON'T USE THIS) and this cause Hakkar to reset, so I just went straight back into it and finally downed him.
Pretty much used Bloodthirst to keep myself up, battleshout over CS for the extra dps, revenge every time you can and at 19% I switched to Battle Stance and started executing (but still throwing in Bloodthirst's here and there for health regen).

After many attempts, I finally manged to solo this guy on my Prot Paladin tonight. I used a Flask of Stoneblood, Righteous Fury, Seal of Light/Wisdom/Curruption, with the Judgements of of Wis and Light. Also had BoS as well. The only boss i left up for the fight was the Bat boss ( because I just dislike fighting her) and the 2 Optional, Demon and Hydra bosses so the only extra effectIi had to deal with was the silence Hakkar gets from Bat Boss. I always found this fight to be a walk in the park until Hakkar enrages at 15%. I recommend that you saving all CD's for his enrage, pots, bubble, LoH.

Killed all the priests/priestesses without much difficulty, and moved on to the main event. Without the extra abilities they provide, he was a complete joke. I never dropped below 99%, thanks to imp. leader of the pack. Took me about 4 minutes to kill him, give or take.

his extra abilities arent really worth mentioning;
tiger: 150% atk speed frenzy sometimes, i would get 1700 hits per second for 6 seconds
snake: poison cloud wich hardly does something
for the rest keep youre healing up on frenzy, did around 2500 dps cuz i had to heal alot so be around that and youre fine,

Soloed as Demo/Afflic warlock (Siphon Life + Felguard). Easy and boring tbh.
Apparently Hakkar only MCs the tank - since the tank is Felguard, and demons cant be MCed, there was no MC-issue.
The Self-Healing spell heals him for very little since it only leeches off 1 (me)
no trouble one bit.
Best to pull him into his hut, where the annoying patrols wont interrupt. Apart from that, boring T&S.

Glyph of Seal of Command could help a lot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4DXINn0J80
keep pw:s and inner fire up and the healing from imp. ve is enough
especially if you go ahead and kill all of the priest|ess
he can mc you if your fiend is out though so stick to dispersion for mana (the dmg reduction helps too)
use it once you're down enough mana to get the full benefit and everytime it comes off cd
making sure your dots are refreshed before dispersing to get the most healing benefit

I Confirm the above, a more general how to below.
I killed all aspects,i suspect you can leave some, maybe all if something in these abilities doesn't reset him on solo.
I used DM 0/56/15 (glyph of HF is handy generally) for All the Aspects, though some could be done even on affli spec.VW on every boss, be wise with threat and use Demonic Emp. on CD.Most Hard Aspect Thekkal by miles, all others are easy peasy.
Now for Hakkar i used my raid DA 56/0/15 with soul siphon talent, self buffs only and No pet, cause pet gets MC'ed and resets the fight(or said so to me by all people). Easy fight for above 245ilvl geared and i could guess doable for even maybe 213ivl gear.
Normal rotation, just Drain Life instead of Shadowbolt.(Haunt,UA,CoA,Corr,DL) With poor gear you might need to pop some potions/hs/DC on CD, but it's certainly doable.
I am sure enrage timer can not be a problem.
Be sure to be alone hit capped as they are Bosses like all the others(your raid avg lvl+3)!
Happy Soloing!
*EDIT: Kill At least The Spider and Bat Aspect, as stun and silence are NOT pretty.

Killed everything without any trouble at all...
Even Hakkar who is apperantly a lot easier then i thought.
I found it rather difficult to die on any of the bosses, even Hakkar...
If you want to solo it on a prot warrior like me then I have a tip for you.
to heal yourself up pop all your items that give you more HP. (like a battlemaster trinket) then you pop Last Stand and then Enraged Regenetation.
That way you'll heal a lot more then you normally would, and you can keep going :)

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not yet, but if you continue to move when he's about to stun you and attempt to heal, you'll be able to avoid it entirely, and he will sit there for 10 seconds or so. This can give you a nice amount of time to heal or dps or whatever you need to do.

Weapons were sword from 25 Saurfang and heroic axe from 10 man Gunship, both enchanted with Lifeward for the vital healing proc. Rest of gear was my standard mutilate raid gear. Glyphed for Evasion, I had 40 seconds of 90% dodge. Other than that, used Ghostly Strike every CD for the extra dodge and Cloak every CD to remove the debuff, which was my main source of damage.
This may be doable with a cookie cutter spec, but I haven't successfully done that.

Easily soloable as an 80 Prot paladin in mostly 232's.
Killed every priest except Jeklik, which adds a little complexity with the silences, as you have to get most of your abilities off inbetween each silence.
All you have to do is avoid the pats and pull hakkar back into the temple-like thing that he stands in front of. After that, you no longer have to worry about adds.
Judgement of light is a highly recomended, as the heal procs very often and is generally enough to negate Hakkar's damage. If you have trouble staying alive with just that, adding seal of light may help aswell. If you're not using seal of light, seal of corruption is nice as it keeps damaging Hakkar when he blood siphon's.
I'm usually able to keep up around 2k dps on him, which makes the fight last roughly 10-12 minutes. The only hard part is near the end when he enrages, going from about 500-600 damage a shot to upwards of 2000, and attacking much faster. At this point I usually cast my bubble and heal back up to full. After that, it's fairly easy to kill him before he kills you.
Note - I don't recomend adding other players to this fight unless you plan a whole raid, as once you have more than 1 person, he will start mind controlling, and that makes things pretty hard.

In the end, we decided to let the mage go in and die and I finished the boss off solo. It took longer but we both got credit. So if you have clothies, or are in any way having trouble because of the MC and think one of your members can solo it, this is the way to go.

Easy to solo as a prot/BT warrior. just make sure you kill the Spider aspect because that stun will make you hit the enrage timer at about 15-30% which isn't enough time to finish him off (I'm not sure about the other priests, but I left the spider up one time and the stun is what killed me since there wasnt enough time to dps).
keep Bloodthirst and Shield Block on CD and use Enraged Regen. if you get below 50% health, and use Revenge every single time it becomes available. May sound dumb, but keep Rend up on him too as much as possible, it helps in the end! His siphon life will only heal him 1-2% at most.. I wasn't counting but I think I made it though about 5 or 6 life siphons before the kill, and I believe after the 7th one you will hit the enrage. good luck!

I didn't have to bubble heal, Lay on Hands, hardly even flashed healed at all.
Compared to Ragnaros solo this is a sleeping contest really. my dps was about 4k on rag and 6k on hakkar cause on rag i kept AoW for emergencies. Don't know what the enrage timer is on this guy but i don't think i came close to it. just burst dps him in the beginning and then SoW and JoW when mana gets low and repeat the blood siphon was annoying but 8k health was 2 seconds of damaging him so it was simple really. I just thought I was gonna quickly add some things about soloing him as a hunter:
(geared icc10/25 and some other stuff, not exactly perfect)
Ideally youre gonna have a pet like a crab, turtle or something that can take a significant amount of damage.
The easiest way I found was just using aotv throughout the whole fight reducing your damage significantly however you are very unlikely to kill your pet while under the effects of mind control...You dont really need 2 T5 pieces here as you'll be easily able to keep up mend pet because of aotv also with decent gear mana it shouldnt be an issue for you to deal 800k of damage in 10 minutes.
Straightforward fight again just be careful with your pet and really try to keep it up use cover etc.
Constructive criticism welcome...
Oh btw:
Spec was 7/57/7 MM standard raid spec.

Just soloed this guy as a Feral Druid cat with 5750 Gearscore. It was a complete joke really, he was far easier than High Priest Thekal and Bloodlord Mandokir who both made me go in to Bear Form and I didn't die once to this guy.
What I did was this:
Just pull your normal boss rotation, however many combo points to SR as you want, and replace Shred with Mangle. Each time you proc Predator's Swiftness, use Healing Touch. He'll go down faster than an ACDC groupie.
Finished on 50% HP and 80% Mana (and I had been slacking on the healing).
Out of all the bosses in ZG (minus Ghaz'Ranka due to a crap fishing skill), this was the order in which I rate these bosses in difficulty to solo as a feral druid:
1. Bloodlord Mandokir (takes ages even with a good strategy)
2. High Priest Thekal
3. High Priestess Jeklik
4. Jin'Do the Hexxer
5. High Priestess Mar'Li
6. Hakkar
7. High Priest Venoxxis
8. High Priest Arlokk.

Retardedly easy now. ~6k gear score feral tank spec/gear. Had to kill a few priests because he was evading. Wasn't sure which one, so I just killed them all except the Bat boss. I might have dipped to 93% hp once without moving at all, but I don't think so. I think the panther boss is the one stunning me, which was causing the evasion, but I couldn't say for sure.

I soloed him yesterday on my 80 balance drood with icc25/icc25hc dps and healer items on me.
He is quite a challenge as a caster because he stuns every like 10-15 seconds.
If you want to solo him too as a balance drood be sure to keep up your hots, at least rejuvenation, when he stuns use barkskin as many times as possible. Alse when you have around 14k hp left, heal yourself up or he can kill you easy otherwise becasue of the stuns.
Dont worry about the drain life, that isnt damage to you.
And NEVER use your treants. I used them at the first try and didnt read any tactics and i have to say, its really annoying when he resets at 20%.
I was also lucky to get a less-hp version of him (791k hp), when i came back today after reset to grind some rep he had 1071k hp.

Did solo him on my Death Knight, pretty easy fight but don't use your pet cause of the mind control.
A very fun fact is that i was mind controled into the room behind the boss, my ghoul was there and i did hit him. The boss did reset because of that and the ghoul attacked Hakkar. When my mind control debuff was over i klicked the boss and it was "grey", the same thing that happens if someone outside the party hit a mob and you kill it and gain ZERO loot. I let the boss kill my because i wanted the loot but i belive that if i killed him my ghoul was the one getting the loot. *laughs*

Did it easy as Dk in tanking gear, but with frost dps spec, since any sort of pet will lead to boss reset when he MC ( ghoul/army/bloodworms).Gear was around 4500 GS .

Hakkar was easy enough to solo with a T9 tankadin post 4.0.1. The instance as a whole was painful - too many casters silencing and healing and I did give up on the bat boss because having a 60 second cooldown on an interupt against a greater heal with a cooldown of 20 seconds that heals boss for almost full was heart breaking.
With Seal of Insight up on using the Shield of the Righteous for my Holy Power procs 80% of the time was enough to beat the enrage. Not a fast fight but not hard either. The trash beforehand was way harder and as for the Tiger boss, 38 mins proved he has no enrage.

Can be soloed as a mage but man it sucks. Using Mirror Image or Water Elemental will cause him to Insane you sooner or later. If you're very lucky this can actually be used to an advantage as he doesn't attack you in that period. If you're really your pets die before he'd reset. At least seemed that way to me.
Did it at 80 as Frost in 264/277 ICC gear, was poorly prepared, had no buff potions, only a Frostwyrm flask and raid buff food.
Took a couple tries, using both Ice Barrier and Mana Shield everytime they were off cooldown, First Aid if possible, using the Evocation glyph for healing, a healing potion. And just burning him down and hoping you get lucky with proccs etc.
I actually popped Mirror Image and the Elemental and immediately Ice Blocked, on the chance that he wouldn't MC me then.
Would be so much easier if you could use those....
Tried it once as a Fire with the idea of using Scorch, Fire Blast, Pyro proccs and Living Bomb while moving, didn't have Blazing Speed or Molten Shields skilled though, maybe it works with those.

With Zul'Gurub turning into a leveling area in Cataclysm, will Hakkar still be killable elsewhere for the achievements, or will he turn into a Feat of Strength and be removed from Classic Raider?

Soloed as a resto shaman in elemental gear (for the hit).
As a shaman, you'll have to solo him without any totems out. A single totem up (not even an elemental) and he'd MC me and reset.
My dps was abysmal (~1500), but with water shield up, my mana was fine. One priest up (tiger) and his frenzy isn't very intense.

I'm confused, tried to solo him on my 264/277 geared bear today and he just reset to full health...how exactly does not having a pet keep him from MCing you?

So I forgot that I had to kill the bosses or else Hakkar gets really obnoxious abilities. Still solo'd him as a combat rogue, only bosses I killed were Tiger and Panther.
Just keep up recuperate and slice and dice and you'll win (eventually).

Simple but long fight as a blood tank dk in blood presence. Just don't summon anything and stick to your two healing abilities. You can summon a ghoul and death pact so long as you do it quickly. Otherwise he will mc you, kill ghoul, and reset.

Went in and tried soloing him for the first time tonight on my 80 Prot Paladin. It was actually going really well until I had him at about 50% health. I still don't really know what happened at that point and my combat log didn't really explain, but I was sure my health bar was at around 50% at the time (so around 12k) and then suddenly I was dead. The combat log showed an under 5k hit with overkill that was the killing strike, but it showed a few attacks from me before that, so either I wasn't paying as much attention to my health as I thought or the bar wasn't where it was supposed to be. Either way, that didn't make me happy. With how easy it was (time consuming, but easy), it would have been a nice first time fight and defeat of Hakkar.
I decided to take a break and try again later, but I'll defeat him next time. I may also go around and kill the rest of the Priests/Priestesses to make it an easier fight. I only killed 2 of them before fighting Hakkar. Killing the other 3 should make this a cakewalk even with the rather poor gear I have (non-raid, non-pvp).

Solo'ed Hakkar on my two mains (old main and new main) in the last few weeks.
Prot Pally... 48K life. Very tough fight...took 3 tries. Got him to 4% and 6% each try. 3rd try I used a strength potion. I had to bubble to heal once...its just a dps race. I had taken out 3 of the 4 priestesses to make it easier.
Warlock: 6100 GS...demonology specc'ed..felguard with 30K health. Very easy. Its simple tank/spank. I cleared all of the trash around him...felguards felstorm is devastating with a few seed of corruptions. Just stay below your felguards aggro and its a cakewalk on Hakkar. Use felstorm on Hakkar whenever its up..makes your felguards aggro jump due to the extra damage. (AND KEEP HIM HEALED) I soulshattered at about 50% and never caught back up..just kept dots up on him and threw the occasional Shadowbolt. I did take out 3 of the 4 priests to have his health in the high 700K range instead of 1.1 million.
Never did get the raptor or tiger to drop for my lock.....the raptor did drop for my pally about 2 months ago though..so I can say I got something out of there.
One of my favorite raids ever. Really wish they weren't removing it. Love to see it as a 10 man intermediate raid in Cata.
Peace out all...and I'll miss you Zul'Gurub!
