The guards can have their spells interrupted so warriors and rogues should be kicking and shield bashing. There will need to be 5 tanks, one for Sulfuron and one for each guard. Mortal strike will also help ensure that if they get a heal off it will be reduced. Bring one guard at time to the ramp that leads to Golemmag and Executus and dps him down, have rogues do kick when it heals, repeat this more 3 times and go for the boss ^^

Sulfuron is the 8th boss in Molten Core. He is a large orange naga-looking creature that is accompanied by 4 Flamewaker Guards. He is located just before Golemagg the Incinerator and the spire leading to Majordomo Executus .
Sulfuron's Abilities
Sulfuron himself has three abilities and his guards have three abilities. They are as follows:
Sulfuron
Demoralizing Shout - Shout attack that reduces the attack power of those in range by 300.
Inspire - An effect that can be dispelled; that doubles attack speed and increases his damage dealt by 25%.
AoE Knock Down - During the fight Sulfuron can do an AoE Knockdown to all those in range (10 yards).
Flamewaker Healers
Heal - The Flamewakers can heal all those in range (other Flamewakers, and Sulfuron). This heal is about 15-20% but can be interrupted as per any normal spell being cast (shield bash, kicks, etc, etc).
Power Word: Pain - As like any priest, the Flamewakers can cast a Shadow Word DoT on random Raid members. This can be dispelled by any effect that removes magic.
Immolate - Exactly the same as the Warlock ability of the same name, this immolate spell deals 380-420 damage every 3 seconds. It can be dispelled like a normal magic effect.
Strategy
To start the fight, there need to be 4 off tanks assigned to the 4 Flamewakers around Sulfuron. After the tanking is decided, the positioning needs to be declared as with this fight (like many others in MC, positioning is key). First off; Shazzrah and alle the Flamewakers save one, need to be tanked just in front of where they are standing, at the base of the large upward slope that leads to them. The remaining Flamewaker needs to be brought higher up the slope and tanked there away from the others.
For the fight one or two priests needs to be strictly on dispelling the power words and immolates that pop up. Rogues and others need to be aware of the casting abilities of the Flamewakers and be ready to interrupt when heals are being cast. Also, priests need to be aware when Sulfuron buffs himself, and must be ready to take it off.
The pull should be easy enough with hunters pulling any stray mobs into position to be tanked. The lone Flamewaker at the top of the slope will need to be downed first, all DPS needs to be pumped into him while the off tanks are kept alive and healed.
Once the first Flamewaker is down, the next tank in the rotation will pull his up the slope into position for the raid to kill. This cycle needs to repeat for the next two adds as well, so that all the Flamewakers are dead and just Sulfuron remains.
With just Sulfuron remaining, the raid should move into position to engage, keeping in mind the AoE knock down and buff that Sulfuron places on himself. The key to this fight however is downing the adds, and once they are downed Sulfuron himself is nothing exceptional to fight against and should be easily handled by a raid.

I've heard that it's possible to out-mana the priests...
Anyone can confirm this??

This fight is easy by using only three tanks, if you're short on people. Have two tanks pull all the priests and Sulfuron and have the main tank keep aggro on Sulfuron. Keep them in a corner so that there's room to kite and manipulate if there's problems. Have the third tank, preferably a warrior, taunt and pull one of the priests towards the opposite end of the room, where the DPS will stand. Have all DPS be on the one priest that is pulled separate, and keep this up until there is only Sulfuron remaining . After this, have all DPS nail Sulfuron until he's down. The only reason the peel tank should be a warrior is because a paladin tank taunts by targeting the person who has aggro, not the thing being taunted, and since there will be an aggro fight between tanks, it will be hard to pull this off. Make sure the tanks have one healer each, and they must be at max range to avoid stuns and AOEs. Good Luck!

If attempting to do Sulfuron Harbinger with only a few people, here are some tips:
- The four adds can run out of mana. If you want, you can just sit back and heal for a while until they all go OOM and then AoE them down, but this takes a few minutes.
- If you peel one of the adds far away, the others will no longer heal it and you can burn them down one at a time this way.

Easily soloed as a well geared 80 prot paladin. You just have the run the adds out of mana.

Again like Gole, Too much damage for prot warrior's Bloodthurst-lifeward combo to heal through.
Even with 200SR-100FR didn't drop the spell damage down enough. Priests healed 3/4 times, and all cd's used twice before I was ghost running back.
Paladins could do this cake, once again- just afk-fol-back when priests oom.

Many of you name him as "Sulfuron", but this is not his name. He is the Harbinger of Sulfuron, and as far as I know he has not been given a name.
In French, this mob is "Messager de Sulfuron", which is exactly translated by "Herald of Sulfuron", or "Harbinger of Sulfuron", or "Sulfuron Harbinger".

3 Manning this boss is easy with a healer, DPS on Sulfuron, and a DPS on all the 4 adds, spread them far apart from each other so he's not in range of the heals. Kill Sulfuron first then kill the adds after.

As of patch 3.2 the encounter seems to have either changed, or is bugged.
Sulfuron Harbinger will no longer attempt to run out of melee range when stunning the tank, and if he does happen to get into a ranged position, he will throw his spear just once, and then run back over to beat the tank with melee hits.

Solo'd him as feral tank spec...in resto gear xD.
I tried it as feral, but I couldn't last long enough for them to run oom. I noticed though that their mana was running out from spamming shadow word pain and not from their healing.
Popped on my healing set, used barkskin at around 50% after a stun (60% if i had barkskin up right after a stun), regrowth rejuv lifebloomx3 then nourish spam until full health and go back to bear. It might take a while to get back to full health but just keep healing, it's less time you have to wait for the next barkskin to pop.

If it wasn't for GodofCorrosion up there, I would have never used healing gear, so thank you my man/bear/cow/elf/tree.
FERAL DRUIDS LOOKING TO SOLO:
Unlike Corrosion, I only used some 50% healing gear for this. Whatever I had that was resto with a higher ilevel than feral gear, I slapped on. The worse your gear, the more healing gear you're going to need.
I will warn you, this is a very annoying fight where one or two mistakes could mean game over. It's also a very long fight, increasing how many mistakes you could potentially cause over that period of time!
...anyways, get your healing gear on, this is all about outlasting. Flasks/elixirs, I'd recommend either a Mighty Fort/Spellpower combo (earthen elixir a possibility too), or pop a Frost Wyrm flask. Ofc, if you find your own potion combination, go for it. General tip, make sure when you apply your thorns buff, you do it in full spellpower gear. The more thorns damage, the quicker the fight. And there is a considerable difference between 73 damage thorns and 243 damage thorns, especially with 5 mobs hitting on you. Speaking of which, demo roar, I know people forget, but it makes a considerable difference.
THE FIGHT...
Same fight from 100 to 0. It's an outlasting fight, you won't be killing the Harbringer until those priests run OOM. I'm sorry, but unless you have some super AoE 10 second silence, you're not going to do it. If you do however have said super AoE 10 second silence, please tell us where you got it, we'd be very interested. The mobs do not regen mana fast at all, just have to outlast them.
You're going to need healing, and a lot. At around 50%, look to heal. Assume they can take out 15% of your health in the time it takes to get a regrowth off (with barkskin, it's not really that much, but bear with me). Also, wait until you get stunned to drop form and heal. He seems to have a 10-15 second cooldown on it - I've barkskinned, healed, and gotten stunned right as barkskin ended. Time the stun, switch to a healing staff before it, wait out the stun, barkskin, and start healing. Regrowth/nourish yourself back to full, any rejuvs/LB you toss on yourself before barkskin ends will just make you last longer.
That's it. Maintain for about 10 minutes. Maintain demo roar, save defensive cooldowns for bad situation, save barkskin for healing only, remember to rotate staffs, and use all offensive cooldowns as they come up. The faster you get done, the better...

Solo'd as a ret paladin. Go full dps, SoC, BoM and ret aura, and just go to town, focus on one add. You'll take a fair amount of damage, but Divine Shield and the occasional FoL should take care of it. It takes a while for them to run oom, but when they do, you're home free. Don't waste your time doing them as prot.

Had an interesting experience tanking this for a 3-man group consisting of myself (prot warrior), a survival hunter and a boomkin the other day. Since we didn't have a dedicated healer we wanted to try burning the priests rather than just waiting for them to go OOM. Of course this didn't work, the boomkin went OOM instead and we wiped... and thought we'd try again, with the dps dragging the priests away one at a time and nuking them, similar to the original 40-man strategy. The first one went fine but took a while, and all the while I'm sitting over here tanking the adds, going through my dps rotation both out of habit and to reduce my damage taken. By the time the dps were ready for the second priest, I had
over five hundred thousand
threat on each of the priests I had been tanking and Sulfuron himself. I stopped even my auto-attacks, just keeping up demo shout for the damage reduction, and they tried for at least a minute to pull the second priest off me, even the growling pet's threat bar barely visible on Omen, until we gave up and decided to just wait for the priests to go OOM.
Tl;dr: if you're in a small group, tanking most of the mobs while your dps burns down one priest at a time far away, either have an off tank to taunt the priests off the main tank or have the main tank do the minimum required for survival, because by the time you get even a single priest down, that tank is going to have more hate on him than a political pundit.

Soloed it as a lvl 80 affliction warlock.
I sent in my voidwalker and let him build threat on the boss and each of the adds. After that I carefully dotted them up, watching not to pull aggro.
I wasn't careful enough and half way into the fight I pulled aggro on two adds. I just decided to tank them both, as they didn't hit me too hard. I kept full set of dots on both of them and healed my pet who was tanking the boss and the remaining two adds. Used drain life when I got too low. I also managed to throw in drain mana between the heals. When the first add went down it was a bit easier to breathe.
After that I just picked the rest of the adds one by one, and then the boss in the end. Didn't give me much trouble.

2manned as a resto shaman and destro warlock , level 80 at about t8 level gear.Basically resto shaman "tanks" for infinite mana while warlock drains mana the healers, after all healers are OOM proceed to kill them. Simple fight.

I duo this as a Prot warrior and Balance druid every week with ease. There are two strategies for it. The healers put about 2500hps each, if you focus a single target you have to push 10,000 combined dps to zerg it without interrupts. However since i'm prot i can make sure at least 1/4 of them don't heal, that reduces dps requirement to about 7500, we usually just zerg one down, it gets a lot of heals, but if combined dps between us, it does die without waiting out mana, and as it dies, each remaining add goes down with much greater ease as i can interrupt 1 of the remaining adds so it's 5000 or so dps then 2500 dps then last add never heals itself..
Alternatively a new strat we've been playing with. Aoe hard and heavy to start then when they start channeling their first heal switch all dps to single target and then zerg it down. The one you are on will likely heal themself but the other 3 will heal themselves too making your kill target vulnerable until next heal cast and easy to knock over.
Either way, in a 2 man situation, it isn't necessary to drake fight out til they go oom.

Soloed as a Retribution Paladin.
I simply kept hammering on Sulfuron until his adds were oom, and eventually died with Divine Storm and reflective damage from Ret aura.I used Seal of Light and Blessing of Might, while keeping Sacred Shield up and dispelling debuffs as they were applied.
Gear level is ilvl 245-251, I had the T10 2set bonus (chance on melee to reset the cooldown on Divine Storm) which pretty much kept me topped up along with the passive healing from Seal of Light. No special gear (ie: resistance gear) was used, and I didn't have any outside buffs.
Took a while to kill him with having to get all 4 Priests out of mana, but there wasn't any chance of me easily dying.

A nice little tip that I found out by accident today - pull an extra mob, for example, a Core Hound, then engag Sulfuron and his priests. Target a priest, use your AoE (very easy for a ret paladin to spam AoE), and the priests will heal the extra mob as it loses health. This will give you a very high chance of having the priests NOT heal the priest you're targeting twice in a row, which will make it easy to dps it down and kill it. Continue killing priests one by one and finally kill the extra mob, then Sulfuron himself.

as an affliction / SL lock (mostly ilvl 264 gear) just use your voidwalker on main boss (cast curse of weakness on the boss as well) then cast corruption, and curse of elements on all the adds. while keeping corruption on all of them, use drain mana on the adds till they go oom.
then just kill the boss
if you have trouble staying alive, either because of gear or because of spec (SL really helps here). then you might wanna put curse of weakness on the adds instead. and also you might wanna use demon armor (the bonus armor really make a difference as well as the extra healing received).
also remember to use voidwalker sacrifice when needed

As a death knight, when you get awesome DPS gear, you no longer have to wait for the priests to go out of mana, as it is possible to burst down each one! This makes the fight very much faster.

If you're soloing this and find it very easy to stay alive (warriors with bloodthirst/prot hybrid for example) you should pull an extra pack (preferably the elementals that have around the same health as the priests.) Use AoE spells as much as you can. The priests will heal the elementals as well and drain their mana quicker. The faster you can drain their mana the quicker they will eventually go OOM. Some classes might just be able to burst them down, but as a tanking class I think you have no other choice than to make them OOM.

For hunters trying to solo this, the easiest way is to simply outlast the 4 priests' mana pools.
Keep your pet up, dps one add and keep viper sting up until they run OOM, then nuke them.

Just doing a bunch of old dungeons and raids for entertainment and I solo'd them like I saw just a sec ago someone said on here.
Just out lasted their mana pool... for the first like 5 minutes I just kept trying my hardest to down a priest, but couldn't. Tried separating one and kill it, then taking another, and repeat, couldn't. Then I just sat there and did nothing besides spam kill command while I thought and suddenly one went down, after a moment I realized they were out of mana, so I nuked them.
It is nearly impossible for your pet to die, bloodthirsty, or w/e it is called, along with Silverback and a mend pet here and there keep them stable at like 90k.

Soloed as a 85 prot warrior mostly in ilvl333 gear. Just couldn't stop the adds from healing themselves. Every time I was close to get a kill they would throw me down and heal to the top. At some point I just gave up on trying to kill them one at a time. I kept my aoe dps as high as I could and made them run out of mana. Took me longer, but was effective. Would probably be easier if I was Fury specced. As prot my single target dps wasn't high enough to do it the fast way.

For you fire mages soloing this.
Start off with pyroblast on Sulfuron and nuke him until you have nice ignite stack, then go combustion -> fireblast to train the dot. Few more aoe's and all priests should be dead. After that just nuke the bossy down.

One of the harder bosses to solo in MC; at least it was for me. Mostly WoTLK geared and Fury Warrior at 83 with no fire resist at all.
While the good news is that the damage they hit with isn't too high (I think I kept them too busy healing), the difficult part is of course the fact that all four assistants are healing at once. I likewise as others, tried a few different tactics to no avail (died once). What turned out working for me was simply hitting every high DPS attack I had with a hair trigger if you will on my execute. If I got some crits in right before the heals went off and executed, I saw that with a focus, I could drop one of the nagas right before their heal went off. Pretty much AoE attacks, Colossus Smash, Blood Thirst, Slams etc. - just pound on the nagas as hard as you can.
AoE attacks help as if you partially damage each naga, they may or may not heal quite to full and it gives you less health to deplete while you're going crazy. I don't think I ever saw them run out of mana but it was too crazy to see for sure.
Once you drop the first, it gets substantially easier. The others fell far quicker. The boss himself didn't seem to do anything special and didn't even heal himself at all. A challenging fight but quite fun.

no reason for this to set you off.

never dropped below 90%, never healed, very easy boss
