Want to know what the drop chance of Tier Sets are in the Great Vault? We've collected some data from the community to estimate what the drop chance of Tier is.
Quick Summary
From a
Google Form
, I collected data from the community on what players have received from the Great Vault. From 321 Great Vault submissions and over 1,500 weekly objectives complete, we've seen the rough data:
Raid Row (Killed Tier Boss)
: ~13%
Raid Row (Haven't Killed Tier Bosses)
~3.5%
Mythic+ Row
: ~9%
PvP Row
: ~3.5%
*The PvP result likely has the largest source of error due to having the fewest submissions by far.
You can see the breakdowns on each of the Raid, Mythic+ and PvP rows in the Great Vaults below.
Drop Chance of Tier from the Great Vault
Here are the raw results from the data.
Raid Row
Here is the data from the Raid Row. Specific to the raid row, Blizzard
announced
that bosses that drop tier will increase your changes of receiving that tier slot. Therefore, there are two categories when getting tier: Killed Tier Boss and Didn't Kill Tier Boss, where players noted whether or not they defeated the matching tier boss.

Conclusions and Speculation
All this is speculation of the drop chance, as Blizzard has not given an official drop chance of Tier from the Great Vault. There is likely some bias in the data collection, due to relying on players having to manually submit their Great Vaults. However, the data seems to match the only known trend -- raid vaults have a higher chance to drop tier if you've killed the tier bosses.
We'd speculate that Tier has around the following Drop Chance from each slot in the Great Vault:
Raid Row (Killed Tier Boss)
: ~13%
Raid Row (Haven't Killed Tier Bosses)
~3.5%
Mythic+ Row
: ~9%
PvP Row
: ~3.5%
*The PvP result likely has the largest source of error due to having the fewest submissions by far.
Considering the chance to get a piece of Tier by Personal loot is 10% in raids, it seems like each box in the Raid and Mythic+ row is about another equal chance to get gear from this data.
