The Challenging Jailer Encounter - Race to World First Recap Day 16
The final stretch of the longest Race to World First in the better part of the decade is now underway, with both Echo and Liquid pulling Mythic Jailer and no more splits or reclears likely. The encounter has dropped to around 40-50% for both guilds, with phase one mostly under control, phase two more sketchy, and phase three still in very early progression.
The Mythic Mechanic for the Jailer is
, which are created by the jailer throughout the fight when he damages Azeroth (unlike in the lower difficulties, where Azeroth only starts taking damage in Phase 3). To heal Azeroth back up, players need to form a chain from the blood to the center of the room, and then someone needs to walk into the blood to trigger a chain lightning style effect, which can only be done safely once every 30 seconds. Like several other Jailer mechanics, this ability gets empowered in the later phases, gaining projectiles that spawn from each player in the chain in phase 2, and a potentially even more brutal
in phase 3!
So far, the encounter looks like it's challenging the players primarily along the strategic and mechanical axes rather than the raw DPS or HPS throughput ones, but the tuning of the Enrage timer (or potentially a Secret Mythic Phase at 0%???) will be hugely important! What do you think about how this race is concluding?
